I'm Roger for my school play in May. The main problems I have is that only about four people seem to actually care about the quality of the show, and my Jan is not one of those people. She apparently doesn't get the concept of being on pitch or good timing. It gets annoying, but oh well, I guess I'll just have to deal with it.
Yeah, at some parts in looks like Jan was DIRECTED to be weirded out... but I don't know. (I'm playing Jan in ours btw) Roger was really good, but almost too loud for the mics! They should have turned his off, any mic 100 feet away would have picked him up =) Still, great job.

first of all this is supposed to be set in a park, secondly the vocals were off especially on jan's part, and finally i felt no energy in the choreography.
Jans is weak no sound recording problem there the leg up at the end was like so fake... and it was like she was thinking yea i pout my leg up now and down alright i did it...
im playing Roger in my school production of grease. this is good but Roger keeps shouting some words and Jan is weak and off pitch, but over all good.
Unfortunately this is primarily due to poor recording. Live it sounded fantastic, but since they didn't have the mics set up correctly for recording levels, it sounded way out of balance on the audio. It didn't translate as well as it could have.
i also played jan in my high school version in Portsmouth NH. we have a reputation of being the best around.
anyway.
i loved roger, expect you need to show your girl a little more love. my roger kissed me at the end of the song after he mooned me. other than that, roger was great.
jan is a good actress, but not a fabulous singer. good acting though. some good laughs.
No actually that is beause of mic setup and her volume. Because she was kind of quiet (or I was kind of loud : P ) the mic wasn't picking her up as well and so live it sounded fine, but in the recording some of the edge was lost, so it makes her sound a little flat.
dude thats nothing i had to make out with a 25 year old when i was 15... THAT was awkward! She taught kids my age at a CATHOLIC PRIVATE SCHOOL!!!! Awkward as all get out... it was a community theatre we did Cabaret
My only criticism is that Roger and Jan need more chemistry. In this video, Roger does a pretty good job, but Jan looks like she's almost afraid of him.
But I'm playing Jan in my high school's production, and it's good to see what other people have done with this song. ^^
I thought it was really good and you have an amazing voice. If you really want some constructive critiscism though, try singing to Jan more than singing to the audience, that way you can build the scene and character while remaining true to the humor. Great job, and good luck with your next production!

When you do a mic check...make sure they hear you sing the higher notes...so when you hit them...they sound nice and round...cause you have a good voice...but the mic is turned so far up it's starting to cut. This is pretty hot though (I just played roger myself).

I'm playing Jan in our Musical in school, and I think she deserves some romance!! But our Roger is 2 years younger than me, so it's a bit awkward!!
