Whenever I write music, I can't resist making it complex, but it's songs like this that remind me that they don't have to be spectacular. It's an amazing and unbelievably simple song.
Me and everyone would wish this song was longer but thats what makes this song so speacial. In a little more than 3minutes Roger Waters wrote a song thats about everything in life and because the rythem is so cool and trippy people just want more. Nobody could ever duplicate Pink Floyd's unique sound and dark lyrics on life. My all time favorite band!
dude you nailed it, it cant be copied, they are layered just right, the keyboard totally completes the mix, oh man I wish I were the age i am now when waters was still in floyd, waters, gilmore, mason, wright, ohhh man
i was gonna start a debate about how drugs don't always fuck up your life, and if you teach responsible use you can solve that problem but i don't feel like causing all that trouble so nevermind
i agree and disagree with that:P i am full on passionate about music especaily the floyd. the sound they achieved was something realy special. im only 18... i jsut wish that other people in my generation would respect, love, and appreciate the floyd. probably the best band that ever played in my opinion
If the doctor says I've got a month to live, I'm gonna listen to "The Dark Side of the Moon" and start out with some pot, and then crack, then crystal meth, then to really top it off, LSD...but I'm 14, so that's gonna be a while... I think I'll keep my sanity for now, though.
What do you mean today's youth has no respect for the past's music?!! I'm only 14, yet I can play ANY Pink Floyd song BACKWARDS on the piano, I know their music so well! I don't like that metal stuff, either. I like the Meddle stuff, but not the metal stuff...! I've heard the "Dark Side of the Moon"...mabey 2000 times.
@zonatech I beg to differ. I'm 20 and I got brought up on pink floyd. If I could travel to anywhere in time just to be there when it happened, I would choose this concert over anything. My dad was there when this history changing moment happened.
My interpretation of the lyrics for Breathe (DSotM, 1973): is all about the fresh, warm, overwhelming charm of youth. The eagerness to love and empathy. Not being afraid of passion and having a long life ahead that is going to be whatever you choose to make of it. Its also about the energy, the driving, pushing force that keep us chasing dreams. And finally is about the risk of living fast and intensively and therefore, to die young. Thanks Roger Waters for such a delightful experience
Where the hell is the rest of the song?!

My pulse actually changed to go along with the pulse in the first minute or so.
Pink floyd obviously has some serious physical side effects.

By what I see in this video, this song wouldn't sound too great if it was sung in spanish.
