Yes, Detroit produced Techno. Derrick May used to go to Chicago to listen to Ron Hardy. I believe the music made in Detroit was supposed to be house, but with our sterile, technological robotic environment in Detroit, what was supposed to be Detroit House Music became the invention of Techno.
