  • fuck xbox microsoft SONY 4 EVER

  • Very nice mate must be a blast to play with, great attention to detail, but....where to from here? :)

  • why dont just use the psmove built in accelerometer and gyroscope for head tracking and gun orientation? why is extra wii needed?

is it becoz MIJ driver is not sufficient to extract the gyro info?

  • @tcboy88

MIJ driver doesn't provide gyro info which is why I need wiimote + motion plus.

  • pls check the 2 google code project and also the MIJ moveonpc thread

  • The matrix has you!!!!!

  • To anyone who's been looking for DIY guide, I had updated the description with a link to the google site on the hardware/software requirement and setup. All GlovePIE scripts will be updated at the website too. Please note that the site is a work in progress and plan to finish the basic setup by next week.

  • Long time lurker on the vr forum but never signed up. Love the work you guys do though on bringing the 90s dream of vr into reality. I have the funds and means, just not the time or skills unfortunately to become a DIYer yet. Here's hoping a collaborated effort between someone like Sensics or the manufacturers of Wide5 and Sony/Microsoft make a home vr a reality some day for the masses.

  • Awesome...... Awesome.... Awesome

  • How do you get the tv and the hmz-t1 to show the game at the same time ? do you use a hdmi splitter and if so do you need it to be hdmi 1.4 to show 3D

also which splitter do you use ? brand and model please :-)

Keep up the good work. Im looking forward to get my own HMZ-T1. :-)

  • @icecyb1

Yes. I'm using HDMI splitter from Monoprice (product id = 7522). Another option is to use clone mode from your video card.

  • Oh yeah, you need some pneumatic pistons around the inside of the suit that trigger when you're hit. That'd just be badass.

    :)

  • @WirlWind494

In fact, such suit exist. It's call 3rd space gaming vest. I didn't get the suit as the support sucks.

  • @rjyap1 It would soooo be worth it though, Can't wait until the technology for the masses catches up with what is already out there.

I want my damn holodeck already, though I'll settle for a VR suit lol.

  • In before you accidentally kill someone in the face while doing a fast 180, or break a TV, or cat, or child or parakeet.

  • I'm looking forward to your tutorial on this, super excited to build it! :)

  • RJYAP, you should give ARMA II a try, it has independent weapon and head movement. Awesome work. I'll be looking to emulate this. Thanks

  • @mayamanign

Thanks for the suggestion. I heard of ARMA II and for the head movement, I would need to use TrackIR API.

  • hey! I have been watching you over at mtbs3d.com and I would really like to see a vid demonstrating how bad/much the wii motion + drifts when you move it around and how it responds with say a quick 180 turn? I built a Vr gun with a screen mounted on it! used a gyro mouse as tracking device, and the drifting was so annoying! so i really hope I can use a wii mote in my next vr setup!

    Your setup looks awsome!

    Cheers

    TilliK

  • @TilliK711

Wii Motion+ drfit on turning is not an issue as we do not need absolute position on direction but pitch would be a problem. That's why one of the button is used for view centering. By pressing the button, the mouse movement will be disable so that you can manually recenter the view. COD series is easier to recenter as there is a command for "Center View".

  • With Kinect are you going to use FAAST?

  • @tcboy88

Most likely FAAST. Will try out GlovePIE too as the newest version support Kinect. Still waiting for the PC cable from dealextreme.

  • @rjyap1 did u notice the new smart goggles by sensics?

it has the head tracking built in, battery, wifi built in, low latency video transceiver built in, and it can run standalone or with pc

if using tat setup, basically only 1 goggle and 1 ps move/kinect is needed

  • @tcboy88

Yeah. But it looks more like a concept prototype.

  • How do you get 360 degree aim ? and you dont use the ps3 camera ?

  • This is how the next generation of consoles should be.

  • @omarcortes88

I hoped Sony see this and consider a HMD for PS4 and sell the idea to major FPS developer. This would kick start the next gen FPS.

  • @rjyap1 My thoughts exactly.

    Thanks for your quick reply.

  • Did you make any improvement to the HMZ-T1 for comfort, and for how long can you have it on before its uncomfortble ? looks like you did an inprovement, please share pictures and what you did.

    Thanks alot :-)

  • @icecyb1

My comfort mod is quite simple. You can get more idea from avsforum.com. Basically there are 2 types of mod, cushion pad and bicycle helmet mod.

  • Does anybody knows which game is this?

  • @sciensyner

This is COD: MW2. Also work with other FPS such as Battlefield. I had tried COD:MW3 but 3D support is broken for indoor shadow.

  • @rjyap1 Wait but that controller you're using in the vid is called Sharp Shooter. And I don't remember that the PS Move is supported for COD: MW2.

  • @Mrk0k0lit0

This is not PS3 game but PC. I'm using Sharpshooter connect to PC via MotionInJoy.

  • @rjyap1

    Congratulations!

I have a question tough. Have you considered using head tracking and independent gun tracking so your sight is controlled by you head and the gun by the sharpshooter?

I know it's possible with the hardware but I don't know if COD:MW2 supports independent look and gun pointing. I think it could be achieved with an easy to mod game, like Quake.

  • @omarcortes88

Majority of FPS doesn't support independent view and gun tracking. But I'm thinking to get a second MotionPlus and stick it to the head as secondary head tracking. Kinect is here but I need the PC cable for jump/crouch control.

  • @rjyap1

Yeah, I was hoping for some one to hack Quake to have independent view and gun tracking, so we can finally have a 100% immersive VR FPS.

If could, I would have done years ago.

  • great!!! did you play skyrim with this setup?

  • @lotusbubu

Not yet. Skyrim might work better with Kinect which I just acquired. I'll try to experiment with Kinect + 2 Wiimote for Skyrim when I got time.

  • @rjyap1 I'd love to see the experimenting video you make with Kinect :)

  • you should walk in the streets wearing this

  • You are awesome. This is awesome.

  • Where did you get the WAVI? I can't find a place to buy it.

  • Oh my fucking godness. I want this shit now.

  • Did you tryed it without asus box - just with wires? I am really afraid of such powerful device so close to your body.

  • @gluhov

You can get long HDMI wires and take out the ASUS WAVI. But you risk tripping over the wires as you can't see how many turn you have make.

  • How much all that stuff cost ? Thanks.

  • @Coconut31

    Roughly around USD 1.4k

  • This realy looks great. Can you please tell more on how you did this and did you do any programming ? Also how did you mange to solve the batteri problem and what type of batteri did you use ? please give some links. Did you run it on a PC ?

  • @icecyb1

I had updated the description above on the software and connection method.

  • Hi @rjyap1

Will you share your scripting for GlovePie ?

Do you know if this will work on other games like Counter Strike or other FPS for PC ?

Thanks for ur great job on this great device !

  • @icecyb1

I put the link above. All the latest script are updated at w3 (dot) mtbs3d (dot) com

  • I cant find the Glovepie scripts in the forum please give a link or maybe share it in here what you used :-)

  • @icecyb1

I just updated the latest script with roll compensation. You can goto above thread and under page 16, you should be able to download the script after registration. Don't think I can attached the file in youtube.

  • This is probably not real? At 02:32 he moves the Sharpshooter but the aim dont move. And the camera has to see the glowing ball the Move controller at all times. How can it when he is facaing away from the camera?

  • @9978sol

The reason @2:32 the aim doesn't move is I press the ratchet button to re-center the view. The mouse input is disable when the button is press so that I can manually move the gun to center position.

As I mention, Move controller is not use for motion tracking. Look at the video closely, I'm using WiiMotion + MotionPlus gyro info for 360 degree which is why I don't have to face the front. No PS3 Eye camera is used during game play.

  • @rjyap1 Ah...thanks for clearing that up, my bad. Impressive stuff I must say :)

  • too much electronic equipment attached to your body, you should be cautious. Specially with wavi, it probably is supposed to be no nearer than 20cm from you.

  • @userwords

Maybe aluminium foil + copper foil will shield the body from high freq transmission.

  • Really cool man! Setup looks sick.

  • wow. awesomes. is the game in 3d as well??

  • @JogBird

Games can run in 3D with 3DTV Play or 3D Vision dongle.

  • I'm thinking to add on Kinect for jumping and crouching. Walking and running would be hard to implement as that need omni direction threadmill.

  • If you could get it so that you had to lift your feet to walk and left than a little faster to run, and crouch to crouch, that would be the best workout ever. I'd never not workout.

  • Awesome work my friend! You are a pioneer!
