This is one of the greatest guitar riffs that we have ever played the air guitar to, huh? Since back in the day, around keggar fires, when I was a Sophomore, in 1979...wasn't this just the other day? Ha!
Regarding Ted's ego, it did get in the way. In 1978 Ted and his band were the highest grossing band of the year. But since Ted didn't give any credit to the other members of the band, Derek St Holmes and a few others walked out on him after playing an outdoor show for more than 100,000 people. That's why Ted fell off the map in 1979 . It was never the same after that.
like to see any so called rap artist play t his, what a joke of music that is.dumb nigs/hold on let me turn my hat sidways, and buy some new rims for my pos car.
Ted has always been ignored and underated...to this day! I have seen him live in three shows in Michigan, he puts on a SHOW! Love his music, love his politics too! This man is so damn unique in American music, what a talent, what a guitar player, what a good American!
Ted Nugent was and still is, a remarkable guitarist. Call him a redneck or whatever... he's simply one of the greatest guitar players that ever lived!
@littlequeen64 I watched the whole thing before I read your comment, and I was thinking 'Wow. He's making love to his guitar.' then I read it. Ted kicks my ass.
As good as sex......yes. Ted if you ever look at youtube,.....i wanted to f--k the shit out of you as i stared at the poster of you on my wall when i was14 yrs old. A school-girl fantasy.....Posters in my locker as well.......I was a Ted Head.......I got yer " vibe". ; o
For me Ted at his best, though when he slows it down sometimes he can rip some tasty licks. As for the R&R Hall of Fame. Fuck it, I hate all celebrity self-worship bullshit from grammys to oscars to the R&R HOF. Seriously, Madonna made it in before Alice Cooper, Rush, Ted, MC5, Cheap Trick & a hundred others far more deserving! Ted rocks. I still love 70s slingers like Joe Walsh, Gilmore, Clapton, Lifeson. Hell I love music! I just hate the politics & constant self-praisefest bullshit.
You know you can watch this man and think he's high on drugs, yet this has never been his rise! I tend to beleive this man has tamed the raw emotion of life, and knows how to live every second of it, truly amazing!!!
@is3it7lonar Look, don't get me wrong. Ted can play, and he can play like a sonofabitch. And he's been at it as long as anyone. I'd vote him into the Hall of Fame in a minute. He's long overdue.
All I'm saying is that he's not a sophisticated player, OK? He isn't. He is one of my seminal git-tar heroes, but I got the point 40 years ago. And once I became acquainted with guys like Joe Maphis, I became less impressed by speed, no matter how impressive it is.
yes ted was at the top of his game when he was with the amboy dukes... that was also prior to him having dentures and lying about his drug usage to the american public....
Wow. Fantastic. Thanks for digging this out of whatever vault and posting it. Have always loved this tune - sooo many great riffs and melody lines tied together perfectly, played with incredible skill and sensitivity. Never dreamed I would get to see Ted play it .... and at the top of his form, no less! Whatever you think of his personal views, etc (not a big fan myself), this vid demonstrates that he's one of the most underrated/unappreciated guitarists of all time. Beautiful stuff.
Great jam. If you're an Amboy Dukes fan then check out one of their most obscure albums with Ted Nugent called "Marriage On The Rocks." There's a song on it called "Get Yer Guns" and another called "The Inexhaustible Quest For The Cosmic Cabbage." It's some hardcore rock/jazz fusion. Check it out.
The best song of all time. As far as I know there are only 3 versions. The original (Tooth,Fang&Claw)----Then Double Live Gonzo----and this one. Thanx a million for posting this video.
awesome my fav amboy duke tune 1st time ive seen it live thanks who cares about his politics the man friggan jams thats all that matters shit if i let my personal views on artists view affect my musical tastes id probably hate all music
@ffejmetalhead well said man! thnx for comment & for watching! Nugent is & has been a great Guitarist for many years,I don't really care for other things but his music also !
Oh man, I listened to Double Live Gonzo a ton and watching this brought it to life THANK YOU for posting this. (I like that more than the Tooth Fang and Claw recording)
I have owned that album on vinyl, cassette, CD, and on my MP3 player.
@asianwannabeamerican I realized that you didn't mean any insult after I went to your page, is just that man, there are so many Nugent Haters,I had my share of them with my suspended account with all my Nugent videos so am reposting them,
Blown away to see this. Always been my favorite Nugent jam.

This clip only highlights how simplistic Ted's playing is.
Not that there's anything wrong with that. Not in the least. But playing simple stuff at 120 mph is not the same as being Les Paul.
Look. I am NOT against simple playing. I adore The Ramones. I fucking WORSHIP Joan Jett.
And I LOVE Ted. He's a great rocker. But he ain't in the same league as Beck or Setzer -- as a player. Not even.
