hey david, love ur videos an all of ur guitar channels an love the new ebook.... i was wondering if u could do a video lesson on how to take a scale like the minor pentitonic an build an create a rock riff that is totally original...i v been having trouble with this techque but i know alot of sacels.... please help. thnx
long timer watcher of your videos and I´ve to tell you, that your lessons are absolutely amazing. I have a guitar teacher who teaches the Electric Guitar based on the Berklee Method. A good method but from time to time it get´s a little boring and so we decided to take a break from time to time and it was on me to come up with some stuff to " fill " theese breaks. One day I came up with stuff of one of your vids..and since that day, my teacher really LIKES the breaks.
Thanks again for another fantastic lesson. Can't tell you how much you have helped me with my playing and understanding. I'm finally getting away from TABs and now attempting to read more and more music! That is something I never thought I would be able to do! Thanks again!!!
Thanks for the tips, not just on this video but your entire channel! I've been making my way thru some of the videos and have already bettered my playing 10x over! Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks? I'm gonna be a shreddin' momma before long. Thanks again!
hey david, i've got a question, what guitar is good for a beginner? i'm asking you becuase i want to get an electric guitar so bad, i'm kind of new in this and i don't know what guitar should i get, by the way awesome lessons!!, greetings from Venezuela!! sorry for my bad english!
a good versitile guitar for a good value is the fender mexican made stratocaster - you can find them used on ebay and your local craigslist at good prices - check them out and rock on!
@flywa27 Ibanez makes pretty high quality guitars for pretty cheap. :) I started with a basic hardtail Ibanez RG and have had it for 2 years and finally moved up to a bc rich mockingbird pro x. :)
@flywa27 i would recommend the yamaha pacifica or a les paul by epiphone. the pacifica was my first guitar and i still play on it 3 years later. it s around 200 bucks and has everything you need to get started. the standard les paul by epiphone is basically a cheaper but not really worse version of the original gibson les pauls. very cool bluesy sound for around 400 bucks. I m actually playing on one atm and i love everything about it! hope this might help you to decide :)
@flywa27 i know i'm not "david" but i think i can help you. If you're really serious don't go and get a first act guitar because they are verrrrrry crappy. you should try an epiphone or a squier. Both are fairly cheap and have bueno quality. And your english was pretty good bro
thanx again and wheres my pic!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol ur a great teacher man, love that piece at a time theory.Ur videos i bought have improved my playing greatly.Just a piece at a time.Best 6 videos i ever bought!!!!
not to be a dick, but it would be cool if at the beginning of the lesson you could play what you are going to teach first so we don't have to listen to you talk about it for two minutes when we're not sure if we want to learn it or not
This may sound weird, but is it possible to hold the camera upside down so its easy to see as if it was facing us? But great stuff! thanks for showing this to us.
That intro riff really sucked, I think we need to breakdown songs from say rolling stones 500 or the best of legendary songs that changed the world not just what someone can do on the street I'm 16 wanting to make it big and I'm learning songs of the billboards lol
please do a guide on writing and playing punk music, like Sum 41, New Found Glory, Good Charlotte, etc. I guess thats really pop punk lol, but still, please help me and many others and make a guide on how to write and play stuff like that :D
All of your lesson are amazing! Everytime I show to my band what i've learned from here they're are all so like "omg".Really useful lessons I use everything i've learned in here!!! Thank you!
Hello and thank for your kind words - most appreciated. So glad that you like our guitar lessons and that we can help you with your playing. Really appreciate what you stated - YOU D MAN!
In theory? The Third, in the sound Minor sounds more sad, where as major sounds more happy. Go ahead and look up the shapes to learn how to play them.
can I get the tabs?

you don't need knowledge to play punk.

@mightynorman true, only the 4 chord progression xD
MYEYESONECONOMY 9 months ago
@Murderwink1 sum 41 and good charlotte isnt punk. punk is leftover crack, the clash, the ramones, etc..

@abar1204 They play a style of punk called pop punk. Look it up.
Murderwink1 9 months ago
oh true i didnt see that you said it was "pop punk"
abar1204 9 months ago
@Murderwink1 you really dont need a lesson for that. Most of those songs are just power chords with a little intro riff.
