I thought the finger holes were made for three reasons. 1: to keep the knife from sliding off 2: to be able to punch as well as stab in CQC 3: it looks totally badass
I bought a WWI SS Trenchknife from an estate sale..the look my mom gave me was funny..my friend saw it and then said "but your black!!"(it had the swastica on it)
About the finger holes, there made wide at the top then the get smaller thats so u slide ur hand in then when u wrap your fingers the slide down into the smaller part of the finger holes (as u call them) so that the knife and slide off the hand as easy for the knuckles are wider then the holes to keep it in your hand easy.
@XDM50 i was thinkin maybe the reason why the rings are a bit small is cause the average soldier in ww1 was about 17-18, 5,11 150lbs. im 5'11 and 150lbs and my fingers would be perfect for that knife. just a thought. good video
the finger holes are ment to be that size it locks your fingers in it so that when your fighting it makes it harder for someone to knock it out of your hand
trench knifes must have been the best invention ever. i mean you have a choice to knock the F**k outta some one or you can stab them. oh and i like your cat dude.
@XDM50 really awkward peace out, the knives look pretty awesome, but because they are trenchknives, we both know its pretty low quality, but they look like they would be a hell of a lot of fun to toy around with ; )
I had one of those 1918 trench knives exact same model. I couldn't get my fingers through the holes without using my other hand to hold the knife steady while i forced my fingers / knuckles threw the holes. Not good for a combat knife when every split second counts. I recommend to anyone who might use this knife in a self-defense situation to sand down the inside of the Knuckle Guards to create larger holes !
i personally would never buy a knife that was made with stainless steel, unless it was a kitchen knife. stainless steel is just not strong enough for field use.
I've actually been wanting to buy the Military Warrior for several months, but I'm hesitant because I've heard some bad things about it. For only $10, do you think this knife would withstand any actual use or is it more of a collector's item? Is it sharp enough to be used as a cutting tool?
It comes very sharp and it is pretty solid. I believe it will withstand years of normal use like camping and bushcraft chores. I wouldn't suggest using it for hard use like hacking at trees or boards, or anything harder than wood.
@XDM50 Thanks for the quick response. You seem to be the only guy I can find on YouTube that actually has this knife. I wanted to ask about it because I've read reviews that say it's so cheaply constructed the black plastic grip inserts fall out of the handle after about only 1 month of light use.
Well, that might be true. I don't know what's holding the plastic inserts to the handle. If it's just a couple drops of glue, it might fall off eventually. If that happens, you can put it back on with some good epoxy and it should stay there forever. =)
ok, me and my brother are having a arguement. i think that your trench kinves are both cool and effective. he thinks that "your trench kinves suck dick". BECOUSE the blades are not long enough, HE thinks that the blades have to be at least 3 feet i told him that that would not work well, he said "they make trench kinves 3 feet long" (like a sword) and i said that the standard is the knucles with a foot long blade. so could you tell me IF they make 3 foot blades and if they would work well?
Your brother is either jerking your chain or he is just an idiot. There is no such thing as a trench knife with a 3 foot blade. If the blade is that long, it's a SWORD.
@XDM50 thats what i told him. but the real 'bet settler' IS there swords with knucles on them? AND would punching with those knucles be effective or would the weght of the sword throw the punch off ballence?
@Eddythebandkid youd have to be pretty weak to have a knife screw up your punch. id only be worried when re-tracing my punch that i didnt nail myself with the blade haha
trenches are small ,confined space.A long blade like he descrebes would be innefective pretty much do tio it being too large to be used in tight combat spaces

I've done a feq things with steel conduit for practice- Working on a 3/4" hardwood dowel with a double bladed 24" blade..Going to be a monster if I can just get it right already. the sheath is metal because if they had leather sheaths they would have rotted away in the trenches and i guess watever company made it wanted some accuracy not bustin ur chops just tellin u so u knogreat vid though im gona buy the second knife u showed but in black!!
Thank you so much for your advice! I hope to order the Military Warrior soon. But I have one more question but this time it is about the World War I replica. Is it double edged? I have a knife collection also and want a few trench knives for it. Lastly, is the Military Warrior a nice knive (sturdy, quality, shaprness)? Once again Thank You so much for your help!
These are both great knives for a collection. The WWI replica is a double edged dagger style blade. The Military Warrior is sturdy and sharp but not great quality.
