@all4lucy Yes. What I recommend doing is restoring the entire PS3 to factory default. This will ensure you that you won't run into any problems with the software, and you will have maximum hard drive space.

@predatorz990 It's a lot like the Xbox 360, but there are a couple differences. First, online is free, you don't have to pay monthly. Personally I think the graphics are a little bit better on the PS3. The PS3 has Uncharted which is a great game. The PS3 can also be used as a bluray player. The only con is that there is no cross game audio chat, but that can easily be fixed in an update.

@cabbagly Just create a new account on your PS3 (go to the XMB screen, and on the far left create a new user) and then sign up for a new account with that new email and different password. You will not be able to use the same gamertag you had on your old account.

@batbot1000 You simply choose Wired Connection instead of Wireless. Just plug in an ethernet cable and it should work. Are you getting an error message or something?
