  • Ok, thanks I have registered in your web page and I'm currently on the forums

  • Archives ? can you please give me the path

  • @juliancho999 I did. YouTube does not allow links or anything that looks like them so I had to replace the / with (

If you need more detailed help it's easier if we chat via my support forum at FreeComputerConsultant(dot)com(slash)forum. there I can give you a link or whatever

  • Thank you for your quick response, i have downloaded FortiClient software but thats not what Im looking for, this software includes antivirus and firewall, I'm looking only for the VPN Ipsec Client, I don't need antivirus

  • @juliancho999 Unless it has changed in the last few months, you can select which components to install during the install process. I select ONLY the IPSec VPN client also.

  • @FreeCompConsultant Yes it has changed, the installation process doesn't ask about it, that's the reason why I'm asking you for this particular version of the Forticlient. Would you be so kind to provide me that version ?

  • @juliancho999 Did you look under Archives? They have versions 3, 2, 1, and some in between.

    Index of ftp ((pftpintl@support.fortinet.com(FortiClient(Archives(

  • Where can I find the software ?

  • @juliancho999 support.fortinet.com - need to login

  • well i change my wireless router i was using a linksys now im using a net gear 300n wireless what do i do ? what would be a proper configuration ? so it could work thanks.

  • @mendozagard It's not your router, it would be more likely how your fgt client was configured; see your IT staff that configured that for you.

  • Hi first of all really nice explanation of the software. quick question why is it that every time i connect forticlient i can't use Internet explorer or FireFox? i'm only using forticlient vpn on windows xp please help! the Internet works when i turn forticlient off. thanks for your help.

  • @mendozagard That sounds like a routing issue. Your default gateway is possibly misconfigured

  • Wow so many views. Mine is setup to automatic obtain configuration from server. Hence no floppy. Does anyone know if there is a another client for the fortigate vpn? freeswan or windows?

  • Video stalls after 20 secs, every time. Booo....

  • Hello Roger, Im trying to find a video on how to setup the Fortinet Wifi80cm's VPN network.. We're planning to use 2 devices to connect 2 offices. Do you know where i can find help? Thanks!

  • @delabuen I originally learned with a real specific, to the point white paper from Fortinet's support site. Did you do a document search there?

    Roger.

  • The Free Consumer version of FortiClient Endpoint Security includes a VPN, However, its Useless unless you connect to a Matching secure VPN server!! AKA Forticlient hardware.

What a tease. FortiClient Endpoint Security has done HORRIBLY in PCMag's testing as well as testing done by others here on Youtube. Not ready for Prime Time.

  • I don't see it as a tease. Why would anyone want the client unless they owned the firewall hardware?

I don't know what testing you are referring to but in the real world we have used this product for years and it has performed admirably.

We only use the VPN portion of it, not any of the anti-virus, etc. We use one a/v vendor on the hardware (Fortinet) and a competing vendor on the software side. Using the same vendor for both gives you less overall protection.

  • You are obviously correct about using different vendors for hardware und software. I got so exited very recently when I heard about FortiClient for the 1st time several days ago. A few AV vendors offer a free software VPN with their product using their servers..ex OpenVPN. I was mistaken. Their VPN and hardware are excellent I'm sure, but I was referring to their Free Anti-virus package only. Lucky for you you haven't experienced it. Its below Spybot.

  • Very nice video Roger, how does this software stack up against other software? and how secure is it?

    all the best

    Brian

  • It works very well with our Fortigate firewalls (as it should).

All IPSec vpns used to be pathetic from a user-friendly standpoint, I think all have gotten better.

I just wish a person could create an icon to automatically connect a policy.

IPSec is considered very secure, and is HIPAA compliant.

    thank you.
