  • Hi gents, I need help. Who knows the name of a Lufthwaffe' s ace.

This pilot decorated with the Iron Cross with leaves, swords and diamonds, and fought mainly on the Russian front of Junkers Ju 87 "Stuka" as destroying tanks.Could be Adolf Galland?

  • @esplorantes

    Hans-Ulrich Rudel

  • @FredDude27

    Great!!

    Thank you very much!

  • @esplorantes

    Yer welcome dude.

Useless trivia: Rudel was apparently still a very convinced Nazi after the war and even joined a German extreme far-right political party after the war.

What a wanker! One would think 6 years of war and 12 years of political dictatorship & terror would have taught him something!

  • @FredDude27

    Hello friend,

Well, some of the reasons why so many Germans were loyal to Hitler was made the extremely hard surrender's terms dictated by France, and not one based on 'self-determination of peoples from the U.S. proposal. In other words, Germany became a sort of slave for France and England, with a constant military(French) presence in the production areas.Do not was obliterated as nation just because,it could perceive already threat Russian, but life was impossible, really hard.

  • @esplorantes The Nazis immediately took a certain order, immediate improvements in living conditions, strong opposition to foreign military presence, but above all brought something that the Germans had lost: hope.

This is why many Germans then blindly they trusted the Fuhrer, in obedience to orders absurd and criminal.

Personally I wonder how they could have followed him so madly, but it certainly paid then the bitter consequences.

  • That took place on Nov. 28, 1940 at 15:40 in the afternoon. He shot down a Hurricane of 249 Sqn, RAF with Stab JG 26 - but it was over Dartford (~10c on the ground), so he was on the attack not flying a intercept as depicted in the film.

  • Da ist die Tommy! Hororororo.

  • I heard his mustache was on sale on ebay.

  • The tail lifts very quickly.

  • Love the strategy planning ... "aim for their butts" !

  • Seeing these guys frolicking around like little girls is surprising.I thought the Waffen SS were the only''Don't ask, don't tell'' branch of the German military.

  • /watch?v=GXcdvKWQIwQ&feature=related similarities between logos? hehehe

  • It's interesting that the only people that they German population seemed to really dislike was British - due to their astounding hypocrisy and the, seemingly obvious and in the end born out, that even in a "victory" they British would lose their empire and hand over world leadership to either the US or the USSR. They couldn't believe they wouldn't seek terms and keep their empire given Germany didn't have the navy to get their overseas possessions - and why risk Soviet hegemony.

  • @VanceJoudrey You may find that not all people think what they are told to think or dislike who they are told to dislike.

It would have been ideal for the NSDAP and the Third Reich to have all Germans think the same and feel the same, but real people are not like that.

It is interesting that you claim to know who the German people liked or disliked. If you can get enough people to believe you then you may change history, but you can not change what happened 70 years ago.

  • @StimuLAZ Regarding my claims re: The British - they are based on Reichssicherheitshauptamt (RSHA) informal polling they constantly did to take the temperature of the German people. Even Hitler had to regard public opinion somewhat and he actually took it more seriously than he probably had to. Not until '42 did he even stop the full compliment of women's cosmetics being manufactured.Quoted in Kershaw, Ian (2000b). Hitler, 1936–1945: Nemesis. ISBN 0393322521

  • @VanceJoudrey In my experience both informal and formal polls contain some leading questions, and a choice of answers limited by what the author anticipates or expects.

Often the allowed answers do not correspond to what I feel is a true answer.

Also, some opinions or sympathies should not be revealed to any organization connected to or responsible for the security of the Reich.

It is common practice to quote sources but we seldom question their methods and circumstances.

  • They dont make Men like this anymore.

  • @BlueRibbonWinner i agree

  • that is class!

  • Oberleutnant Galland war sehr chic.

  • @wompus111

What you seem to forget is that the so-called 'defenders' UK and USA did during war. They deliberately bombed non-military and non-industrial targets and killed thousands and thousands and thousands... of women, children etc in Japan and Germany. That sounds good for defending their country, does it? So, there isn't any excuse for that either.

The germans not joining the nazi party but fighting for their country and the allied soldiers were similar, if you want it or not.

  • @Vickzq Well, I might have forgotten what the Germans did to Guernica, Warsaw, Rotterdam, The Hague, London, Coventry, Manchester and so on. The Germans invented terrorbombing with Guernica. Their V1's en 2's weren't really smart either, falling all over the place. The Germans just never wanted to surrender and that costed them dearly. The Germans did not defend their country. How can you after invading country after country yourself?!? Just surrender and it would have stopped....

  • @Kawadude2007 Did saw german cannon V-3 ? This is really terror gun.

  • @Mark49007 Yes, I know the gun. It also wasn't really accurate and it was invented to bomb London from Europe..... But some people only wish to see what the Allies did to Germany. Not what Germany did during the war in Guernica, where terrorbombing was invented. They also tried to establish a firestorm around the St. Paulscathedral. The only thing Germany had to do was to surrender. Germany wasn't the victim, it was the agressor, who chose to keep on fighting...

  • @Kawadude2007 British lancasters destroy is with tollboy bomb only one bomb hit this cannon and destroy it and german finish this bunker in rock. But they make lot of cannon and test it in Peenemunde firerange

  • Are you forgetting Warschau?!? Rotterdam?!? Den Haag?!? Amsterdam?!? London?!? Coventry?!? The random killing by the V1, V2 and V3?!? The gaschambers?!? The ovens?!? And you want pity for the Germans?!? You have to be kidding...

  • A German Clark Gable!

  • 1941 it is not a good year to know the great spirit german to war. How about 1945, april or may?

  • LOL GERMANS ARE GAY!

  • hitler and his faggot nazi slaves failed what more is there to say

  • I actually met Galland in 1974. I still have the autographed photo he gave me.

  • Adolf Galland-survived the "War"-------why?

    Because he was-----------GOOD?

    He,everyday-knew-------------one mistake-I AM DEAD?

Upset?------------------NO!!-----------------why did Germany "survive "for 6 years?

    UNBELIEVABLE-strength of national character?

    Warped----------maybe-------------DISTORTED?

They say the "weakest "link in a chain-is one that has inbuilt flaws?

The Polish-303 group were THE most dynamic,daring---------BRITISH air group in the "Battle of Britain! "

  • This makes me sick. Galland was a good pilot and a good killer. No one disputes that.

What gets me is all this bollocks that he was not a Nazi. He was flying and killing people trying to defend their countries against Nazi aggression. How can you do that and say you are doing your duty but you are not a Nazi?

Was Galland supid? Was he an idiot? No. He knew what he was doing. Killing. He enjoyed it. He should have been hanged as a war criminal which is what he was. Rot in hell you scum.

  • What would you do then big mouth??? Say no, i'm not gonna play war and kill the enemy because of my beliefs???? You would just get shot for being traitor !

Think about it, there was no way out . I bet you'd say " where do I sign Mr Hitler". Best take your chances in the air!!!!!!!! RELIGION KILLED MORE PEOPLE THAN THE THIRD REICH, AND THAT SHIT IS STILL GOING!!!!

  • @bill24777 AND DRESDEN DOESN'T MATTER BECAUSE WE WERE THE RAF WE WERE THE GOOD GUYS WITH AMERICA NO IT DOES NOT! IF YOU SAY THAT HE IS KILLER THEN YOU ARE SAYING THAT EVERY SINGLE USAAF AND RAF PILOT WERE MUDERERS, THEY DID EXACTLY THE SAME AND MAYBE ENJOYED IT ALSO, THEY SHOT AT AIRCRAFT NOT JEWS, THAT WAS THE POLITICAL PARTY OF GERMANY, THEY WEREN'T MEMBERS OF THE NAZI MANY HAD FLOWN BEFORE HITLER CAME IN ANYWAY, IT IS LIKE SAYING THAT ALL BRITISH PILOTS WERE CONSERVATIVES, HE WAS NOT A NAZI!

  • @jagdflieger100 well said man. those idiots have big complexes about us. we would have kicked their asses even 1:2 or 1:3. but numbers were muuuch bigger.we let them go in dunquerque.britain provoqued war thru diplomatic on balkans.maybe all here read some books and care about facts. the natsi natsi shit is outdated.iraq has shown that usa and brits are just greedy invaders.saddam was built by them. look rambo 3.goood mujaheddin..hahahaha you change picture of enemy like underwear, anglo´s

  • @bill24777

You SIR ARE AN ASSHOLE who no idea of history

  • @luismarinaperu

So what are you, a Neo Nazi?

How can tou defend this man?

    Who started the war?

And please don't give me the bollocks about England declaring war on Germany because of Poland.

Galland was intent on winning the war that Hitler started, A war that they thought would give Germany world domination.

    How can you defend that?

Allied forces were defending against German aggressors, mass murderers and the like.

There was a difference, if you can't see it I'm sorry for you.

  • Bye the way, the film of Adophs flying is obviously a lot of crap.

He was a good Nazi killer, and a good pilot but no RAF pilot would fly straight and level like that waiting to be that to be shot down.

Nazi propaganda, to try to convince ordinary Germans that this scum could win the war for them.

Convince me otherwise if you can. although I doubt if you can.

Galland, rot in hell you Nazi pig.

  • @wompus111 I have no sympathy whatsoever for Nazis, but Sir, you are way out of line here. Galland was a fair, decent man, a warrior and a true gentleman. In the name of the fair warrior that Galland was, FUCK YOU.

  • @slick4401

How was Galland a fair and decent man? A warrior I grant you but a gentleman?

What you seem to be unable to understand is the difference between an aggressor and a defender in time of war.

If you go out to kill people to defend your country, that's one thing. If you go out to kill to subjugate and enslave people, that's quite another.

All this 'I was a soldier, not a nazi' holds true for ordinary enlisted men, not people like Galland who became organisers of the killing.

  • @wompus111 Galland asked for a set of new prostethic legs when Douglas Bader was shot down, he held him as a guest, he gave safe passage to the british plane that dropped the prosthesis (the plane dropped some bobmbs along with the legs) I call that a gentleman.

  • @wompus111 Maybe they just wanted an Empire like yours!

  • @wompus111 Actually Galland did live up to his name, and that's from a British airman he saved. He was a believer in 'shoot the plane not the man'. So yes he was a gentleman. I read an account from the British pilot in question that having been shot down the 109 circled back towards him, he though the pilot was going to shoot him off his parachute but instead he saluted him and circled, keeping other German fighters away until he knew the British pilot was safe. He found out it was Galland.

  • @slick4401 British ace Doug Bader was shot down but was well treated by Galland n was even given a chance to sit in an 109 !! some said the Mickey mouse logo was made famous by Galland

  • @wompus111 galland wasnt a member of the nazi party,he was just a fighter pilot fighting for his country unfortuneatly it was a country controlled by nazis

  • @rafomagus Galland also fought during the invasion of Poland, Holland, Belgium, France and England. That is where Germanie's luck ran out.... The defending started after all of the invading.... Don't forget to mention that....

  • @wompus111 what the hell whould you have him do? in a time of war you whould take up arms in defence of your country whould you not? a lot of servicemen dont necessarily agree with the policies of their govt, but they put service to their country above that, galland on numerous occasions was at odds with his superiors like when he was asked by goering on what he thought about shooting pilots who had bailed out his reply was i whould consider that murder and whould disobey such an order

  • I didnt know the Nazis were homosexuals smacking each other on the ass

  • fuckin Nazis, nothin changes

  • It is well documented that Galland always smoked a cigar in the cockpit. He had his Chief Mechanic Merhtens retrofit a cigar holder and ashtray in the cockpit.

  • I think getting into a Bf-109 with a lit cigar is extremely stupid...the plane is full of gasoline with fuel lines running through the cockpit...I hope Galland was just munching on a cold cigar...

  • Galland is an inspiration to me. A brave man..and an amazing pilot! Great video. Danke!

  • The krauts are still running. lol

  • Me gusta éste video, muy bueno.

  • "Ein Volk, das solche Söhne geboren hat, wird die Vorsehung wieder zu neuer Grösse erheben"

  • He was shot down 2 months after this clip was made over Dover, by Irish ace Brendan 'Paddy' Finucane.(April 15th) He downed one Mk II Spitfire,(damaged 2 others) Finucane rolled away and got behind him...

  • Hopeless, Empty Nazi Propaganda, Bullshit, Vapourware.....

-The Beginning of The End For Germany.

  • galland had a silver ash-trey installed in his cockpit... he loved his cigarres ;o)

  • The major general kept puffing away on his stogie!!!

  • 2:01 spit clearly out turns Emil

  • Those Bf-109 E's were a remarkable airframe, and in the hands of a skilled pilot like Adolph Galland and Gunter Rall, it was an incredible killing machine.

  • I love this-------------------America-the home of the brave?--denigrating a country that held out for 6 years.

    misdirected?-YES!!-but----awesome?

  • "Take on the AMERICANS in the Battle of Britain!! "-give me strength?

  • @HobieTyourtube

    Lord be Merciful!!!

  • Incredible. This is one of the guys brave enough to take on the American pilots in the Battle of Britain. They wre called the "knights of the air" and the most famous one was Billy Fiske.

  • Der ist der tommy XD awesomeXD horrido!

  • I think it's cool that he got his Bf109 equipped with an ashtray...

  • es el mejor piloto de la historia y un gran hombre con sentido de la camraderia..en mis recuerdos tengo tus imagenes volando con tu Bf 109 con tu cigarro y el micky mause

  • hehe, not really, I think he says something like 'oberstleutenant Galland hat den Englander gepackt' - meaning he had him 'in the corner' with no chance to escape.

  • wonder if he chucked any of the lobsters at the brits when he got jumped....fuck you tommies! *heave*

  • my name is eric neil galland...hes in my family

  • Adolf Galland is in my family tree also.

  • cool...we might me related

  • could be

  • I guess thats why you have Guns-N-Roses music on your profile. Shut up you fake.

  • WTF??...that has nothing to do with me having guns n roses music on my profile...wtf are u on about?

  • Shut up again you poser, your probably from Alabama somewhere, hahaha.

  • lol..ure just jealous cuz hes in my family..get a life twat

  • So if you are really related, tell me where the rest of the Galland family is.

  • lol..idk im only 12..my dad just found that i he was in our family tree..but seriously i am related to him..

  • Family tree huh, and I was wondering why you can barely spell.

  • OMG!!!!!...why cant u just accept that im related to him..

  • if you are related to adolf galland thats fine . any german hero who throws his decorations back in herman goerrings face is fine by me .

  • Are you serious about being related to him? I'm not trying to be sarcastic, I'm just surprised to be talking to someone so close to him.

  • yes, i am related to him.. =) My name is Erik Galland..

  • My compliments to you then. My grandfathers were both in the SS. I have a great respect for pilots of the Luftwaffe, I'm a commercial pilot myself. I only wish I could have flown for Germany in 1939!

  • Thank you!, That's nice, good luck with being a pilot then! :D

  • I don't suppose you have anything he may have written such as explanations or instruction on how to perform combat maneuvers or just flying in general?

  • no, i do not, i'm sorry, i'm not very close related to him, but i am related, but i don't have anything, sorry..

  • That's alright. I couldn't help but ask though. To have such instruction would make it possible for me to skyrocket to the top of my profession in minimal time.

  • wow, i'm really sorry about that..

  • ja,ja,ja, good one!!!!!! Guns'n roses, je,je,

  • His Life Story would make a Great Film!

  • Oh YES...!

  • Climbing in his Bf-109 with a cigar... Superb!

  • You know that he had an ashtray specially outfitted in his cockpit, No joke. That's a true story! (He probably kept a flask in there somewhere as well to pop a pear schnapps on the way back from England..) Kidding on that, but the part about the ashtray is true. Another true story about Galland is he was taking Theo Osterkamp some lobsters and he stuck them behind his seat in his Me109. He gets jumped by some Spitfires while he's got all these lobsters on board and he scores like 3 victories.

  • I don't know whether or not they got loose and were crawling all around the floorboard of his cockpit or not, but I found that story kinda funny. Galland was a badass. 104 victories - all in the west. Plus, promoted to General at 28 years old!

  • @vangestelwijnen

yeah, thats his trademark, he was frank with hitler and the youngest general In german armed forces at 29 years of age. At his 100th kill hitler gave him the iron cross himself and ordered a portrait of him be made and shown to him. when it was made and shown, hitler went into rage as the artist made the portrait with Galland and his trademark cigar pose. Hitler then ordered the same artist personally to make a exact duplicate one, only with the cigar missing :)

  • @omerkhan678

Yeah, Hitler was known for his 'healthy habits'... Vegetarian, non-smoker, no alcohol, virgin. He had some other issues, though.... :)

I guess Adolf Galland was exact the opposite... He must have loved wine, women and song.

  • @vangestelwijnen He actually had an ashtray in the cockpit of his Bf109. It was forbidden, but, hey, he was Galland!

  • @vangestelwijnen He did it regularly - he would not put them out until finished ..

  • @vangestelwijnen They had a cigar lighter installed in his plane. I read that in a biography about him.

  • @JaleelJohanson62 LOL, you can't imagine this in our dull, over-secure times.

  • @vangestelwijnen Tell me about it. To have lived then.....
