@arilovegillesforever I recently got a Siberian Husky ( he was born on Nov 9) and I am now the happiest man in the universe! Anyways my girlfriend lives with me and although she loves our Balto, she wants a little female husky pup as well. Luckily we found a breeder near us and we found the perfect little little girl That being said..I heard one husky is already a handfull so would 2 be chaos?
@xdanielx07x Call me crazy, but I really believe the presence of an older dog allows a puppy to learn more faster; huskies are also pack animals, so having 2 really balances the dynamic of the home. The most difficult part of having 2 for me is running them, as they're natural pullers and want to smell every passing dog's butt. Although there is the potential for 2x the mischief, they'll have each other for entertainment, and in my home, that meant less destruction. All the best :)
Keep in mind that as of right now (Feb 6) Balto is 1 day from being 13 weeks and our little girl would be 6 weeks. We will be visiting our breeder this coming Sunday to check everything out. So again I would love for some feedback. Should we get this cutie or shouldn't we?
@xdanielx07x Oh, I didn't quite read your first comment through...Balto's just a baby :) I have a friend who recently brought a husky as a companion dog to her doberman. She insists that 2 dogs growing up together makes for a psychologically healthier dog, and eventhough it's not a documented fact based on clinical research, it makes sense to me. Also, if you feel like you're prepared to take on the challenge of two pups at once, why not? Good luck!
ummm hate to correct you but all huskies have prey drive and will kill other animals if they are not raised with them and conditioned to tolerate them. I have a female that has killed two skunks, and has chased down a deer ( a buck) ... she is only 55 lbs but can pull 200 if she was made too ...she has been raised with cats but would definitely kill a stray cat... she is dog aggressive because she was attacked and almost killed by a pit/ridge-back cross. I have her two sons who are Alaskans.
@ravencassidy Both of my dogs are generally placid and non-predatorial when it comes to other creatures, but I will admit that I jumped the gun a little with this one. Since making this video, I've come across a few other husky owners whose dogs have killed deer, game and even a pet parrot. It all comes down to training and letting your dog know what his/her boundaries should be.
@arilovegillesforever I have met a bunch of people as well that have said they had very mellow huskies, I myself have the complete opposite. My Sasha destroyed 5 couches by age 2 and now that she's 6 yrs old she has calmed a bit but if she gets loose forget it, she is gone. last time she got out it took 7 hours to catch her. Thank you for posting the video it is good that other husky owners and people who are considering getting one learn all they can for they can be a Challenge.
@islahlou I don't usually reply to hater comments, but this time I'll make an exception. NEVER talk about my dogs you sad little troll, my dogs have brought more joy to people's lives than you ever will. Do the world a favor and choke on a cheeto
Thought id say hi Dax is still going strong we got a little staff cross which we called molly and its turned him into a puppy again lol ill have to check but im pretty sure hes 15 this year and still a loony but i wouldn't have him any other way lol.
Just got me a husky a few days ago for free :) Free! When I was in California we had a husky and cost us about a $1000 :( and it it got stollen :'( anywys I got this new puppy 5 days ago and it' just brings me back to when I was in Cali :) I named him Balto and he's almost 8 weeks old. He was born on November 9 of this year :p anyways cool video. Your very beautiful by the way :)
my husky = jack ass destructive bastard that pisses me off to no other end that I dont know what I would do with out him. He and my shepherd are my kids and as much as they can get on my nerves and as much work as they are part of the family and my life would be lessened with out them
im getting a husky puppy tomorrow and im super excited. hes a male and sable color. :)) i plan to keep him in my room at night (my mother keeps saying it belongs outside all day because of the shedding but i told her ill buy a furminator .lol) ive set up half the room as his and half the room as mine. lol. i was planning morning and night runs for at least an hour each, everyday. Do you think that is enough excercise physically?

@MsYaguro Furminators are AWESOME, you'll see. Huskies are pack animals anyway, so sleeping in the same room makes sense. You might want to look into crating-just an idea, it's not for everyone. As for exercise, my vet told me a while back that too much exercise for a puppy will prematurely wear their joints down- a general rule of thumb is 5 minutes of walking per month of age (until he's fully grown=18 months give or take). All the best and good luck :)
You are so right, huskies can live in tropical country, just based on experience. And yeah those who really want to get a husky they have to do a lot of research first.
Thanks for this video, I'm a little tired of all these husky sellers telling me they're perfect, because there has to be some points to look out for. You cleared that up for me, don't worry about people saying having dogs in a flat is bad, I think it doesn't matter aslong as you take them outside a lot.
My husky has shown aggression towards anything living that isn't a human and to select people he just didn't like. Huskies are only nice if they're raised around other people and animals. No they won't get cancer if you shave them, they'll get 2nd degree sunburns. You're on the right track, but not everything you said about huskies is true and owning huskies for less than 2 years doesn't make you an expert.
I'm going to buy one, on the 20th of December it's a boy, brown and white. :) I'm so excited! and can't wait, i know it's going to be a hard job keeping up with the dog since i work and all, but it also helps to live in a house with a lot of people so they can watch over the dog for me :)
Hi - thanks for the video, it's helped though I still have a few questions - I'm in an apartment myself with no yard or anything, but plenty of sidewalks near me and two large parks ten minutes away in addition to the fact that I go hiking when it isn't raining. How often do you have to exercise? Is a morning walk or jog enough? Will they do fine in rain (I'd think so?) Would I have to get home at lunch to take them out? Are they OK alone for 8-10 hours? Or would be a disservice to them?
jesus christ im 21 from manchester england and im thinking about the future, this is the dog i want one day with my life. that right there is my perfect woman with that dog and a nice house...... wow id be the happiest man alive oh and an xbox with fifa 12 and a nice baby boy who was the next messi or ronaldo!
I have a husky she's my 5th husky and yeah they run away but they come back...but my recent one doesn't escape at all...and she gets soooo much attention when we're out people pet her and sometimes takes pictures of her,we never get so much attention...until our Sasha came along and yeah you are hott!!!
@fuschiastiletto Yea I have 2 now, my first is a little freedom seeker who waits until we least expect it for her to run away, and the other one for some reason always comes when we call him (he only started doing this recently, though). People always come up to my dogs when I'm walking them and randomly start stroking them (as if I don't exist)...it can get a little awkward sometimes coz I'm just standing there waiting for them to finish
Yeah everyone warned me about how huskies just want to run and will run away from you if you take them off leash. I have two dogs one a Siberian Husky and Blue nose pitbull and I go outside with both of them off leash in a yard with no fence. And neither will run away. Huskies have a very HIGH prey drive. So your whole they wont hurt anything even other animals is wrong. My husky has killed a verity of animals We go to the dog park everyday for like 1 - 2 hrs so I know its not energy related.
Thanks for all you wisdom! I have a Husky/German Shepard puppy! She's about 4 months old now. She is very original, she has black spots around both of her eyes. Very happy doggie! I will send you a photo of her once I take the time to upload it. You helped me understand her better with your knowledge. I do have to admit, your accent kept me focus on every thing you had to say. I live in Cali, not the best accents around here. Take care, thanks again! Jason
i'd feel guilty getting any dog meant for colder climates. i hate being hot, i wouldn't want to feel hot constantly, especially not with a thick coat of fur.
if you live in a cold climete like me ( -30 most of the time during the winter) and you have them as a outdoor dog (stays outside all the time) they CAN NOT come inside during the winter. At on of my training classes the 2 huskies that were there ( bred for sled dogs but needed some training first) both passed out the first 20 min. inside the building.
@Zaphyr1276 I read that huskies can manipulate their own metabolisms during strenuous physical activity so they burn and retain fat at the same time. If you were to remove them from a subzero environment while they're burning energy at such a high rate, they overheat too quickly for their bodies to handle. On the other hand, if those 2 dogs had no excessive activity in a few hours or so before that, they would have been able to adjust to the change in temperature a little easier :)
So while i was reading your comment responses and i couldnt help but read them with your amazing accent hehe(= But thanks for the video cant wait to get my husky!!!(= cant choose if i want a Akita kangal or Husky... dunno yet hehe but thanks for the video...
@pimpdaddyxwing haha THANKS :) I have a lot of friends with akitas, as far as I know they are very loyal dogs and don't let their quiet/almost introverted nature fool you..they are among the best guard dogs you could ever find (or so I'm told). I wish you the best of luck with whatever dog you choose, as they are both very different, you may want to go with the one that better suits your lifestyle. All the best!
@qaisdawod I'm sorry for the late reply. You may want to put a barrier around the edges just to be on the safe side. A tired dog is an obedient dog, so if you give it enough physical exercise and mental stimulation there's no reason for him/her to want to explore. My two are way too energetic to run with, so my bike's become my bestie. Hope it all works out :)
@qaisdawod Why would you keep an animal on a roof? A dog is not a toy you just put up on a shelf and play with when you feel like it. Siberian huskies though can withstand very cold weather, they need to be protected from warm weather they are not used to. Even when the seasons change like every dog it takes them a little while to get used to it. Besides that Sibes are pack animals, we are their packs as in their family! No dog deserves to live on a roof, or chained up! which is about the same!
ya i agree that they run away so much.and thats because they can,t stay with some one that is always leave them alone.they like to learn ,play and experience the things.
if you be with them they never run away, they need strong leader.im going to get one fluffy puppy husky next month.don,t forget guys that they can learn so much and thanks for the video.you are hot.
Wow every single thing u said was my dog Julia LOL. She was hyper, stubborn, very very smart, escape artist, shedded, got 3 to 4 walks a day no matter what it was doing outside cause she needed it :) I lived in Buffalo with her and their winters are awesome for snow dogs. Love u Julia miss u girl, RIP.
I think I will shave my husky only for you to hunt me down hehehe. Kidding. But you are really cute.
Talking seriously, i´m considering having a husky to make company to my hiper-active german shepherd, altough I would like it to be more afectuous. Do you have any advices for picking a puppy like this?
@lightenlynx Flattery gets you everywhere :) I personally know people who have huskies and german shepherds; it's a great combination, they are both very intelligent breeds who compliment each other very well. Every husky puppy is different and there's no way to know what it's personality will be like as it gets older; you can always raise it to accept affection though. Generally, female huskies are more affectionate but if you train it correctly, even a boy can grow to love cuddles. good luck!
I have a question. My husky is 6 months old, and he won't sleep all night. We'll put him to sleep at 11:30 and he gets up at ususally 2 or 3 in the morning. Why is that? And is there a way I can get him to sleep through the night without howling? And we are crate training him for now, just so he won't get into anything at night. Please comment back. Thanks:))
@vearon1 I LOVE that, I hope my huskies don't change. I never imagined how different their personalities could have been until I got Fuji, but I love them just the way they are-the both of them. If in 13 years they're still the same old little babies, I won't be complaining :)
I am planning on getting a Siberian Husky this summer so I can dedicate my time to it :). I'm glad to hear that Huskies can live in weather like mine (it gets really hot in the summer!) And thanks for the few extra tips! PS: I saw you're Huskies on you're other vids, they are adorable! <3
@lightwolf865 It will be a lot of work, but I promise you that you will LOVE your new dog, and what's more, once you get your husky, you'll never want another breed (that's what I found anyway). How exciting, good luck! :)
how much you think they cost??

Thanks:))

I've had my Husky since he was 7 weeks old and he is now 13 years old and he still acts like he is six months lol, i wouldn't change a minute of it
