well that makes the most sense. if i heard this for the first time without knowing any better i would think it was "Thank God Im Free". I found the box just the other day that also says "Thank God Im Free". So ill probably change it back. There is this program on one of the local channels here that broadcasts jubilee classics. And they have showed two different performances of the same song with Both titles and i was just unsure being young and not around when this was made. Thank you.
Mrs. Hemphill is Howard's niece. Her Mom and Howard, Rusty and Sam were siblings. I don't actually know who wrote this one. I figured it was Howard or Rusty.
@preachboy3 This song was written by Rev. James McFall, father of the group The McFalls. You might remember a hit they had on radio several years back called, "I Still Trust You."
Is it just me, or to anyone, does it look like Rusty looks and sounds just like Conway Twitty? Love this song! I wish I had the chords to it! Thanks for posting!!!!!! :-)
What year was this. Early 70's ?

@preachboy3
Funny you should say that-
a buddy of mine recently said (& I'll agree)
that Kenny Hinson was the 'Merle Haggard of Gospel'
& I countered that Rusty must've been the 'Conway'!
They even got poodle perms @ about the same time...

I think Rusty could have 'made it' in ANY style of music he chose... I'm thankful that he chose gospel.
This is such a treasure - thanks!
