Umm people if I'm not mistaken Priyanka Chopra studied is US for a bit when she was young? According to wikipedia she studied in Newton South High School in Newton, Massachusetts and then in John F. Kennedy High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. So if anyone wants to put on an accent I think Priyanka has all the right to do so!

I have a godmother who was born and raised here and had an accent but moved to Massachusetts also known for it's accent but more of a clipped Northern almost British tone. She now has a complete Massachusetts accent since she's been there almost 20 years. When you go different places you pick up the accent.

She lived in America for a great part of her childhood, if she wants to use her american accent, let her! If "fakeing it" is what she wants to do, so be it! She lived here for quite a while, so that gives her the authority to do it! If she speaks with an indian accent in India...so what?! She is an Indian Resident, she can do whatever she wants to! Besides, Not every indian that knows and speaks hindi well and fluently has to be stuck with a hardcore indian accent! I certianly am not!

oh man, it annoys me to such a great extent when people who have lived in one country their entire life comment on when other people have a changed accent (who have obviously experienced living & interacting with people from different countries).
Okay so let me try to make it easy for you guys to understand, IT IS NATURAL TO TALK WITH A DIFFERENT ACCENT WHEN YOU ARE IN A DIFFERENT COUNTRY, most of the times you cannot even help it because hearing the people around you makes you sound like that!

Get over it you people! I believe her accent was clean and understandable and that is just what matters. How does her accent matter to you or anybody out there? I realized a change in her English (in a good way) from What's Your Rashee. I'm proud of her for *improving* her accent...this is no way means she's "fake." She's still awesome & always will be. The media just finds random things to criticize celebs!

when she is in india she talks with indian accent so that we can understand her better n don't think she is showing off....when she is in US/Canada she speaks like them and she did a very gud job at that. I don't think there is anything wrong with that and the accent doesn't sound fake, unlike aishwarya rai who really suck at it and speaks the same both at home and abroad. All those scumbags who are against her should shut the f**k up. Do u want english to sound like hindi with a thick accent?
