it doesnt need it. the v8 might appear to be sluggish compared to a v12, but a 5.0L V8 will have a higher torque and horsepower rating at lower rpms, which gives a faster shot out of the hole and from around turns
@xmodrock Going by your theory, if Aston Martin took over ford, all previous works such as the F series trucks and Mustangs would be English. That's like a British artists painting a picture, an American collector buying it, and then you saying that work of art is American.
I also said nothing about Land Rover, which I'll have you know is not Rover and is also not owned by Ford. Land Rover and Jaguar are now owned by the Indian 'Tata Motors'.
@xmodrock And as much as you may like to think otherwise, Land Rover and Jaguar are both still British. They are based in the UK, they were founded in the UK, the only difference is their new parent company is American. Think of it this way, if you are a British orphan, adopted by American parents, are you American? No, you are still 100% British except now you also have a United States Permanent Resident Card.
Nope, the person is English but is now also an American citizen. This does not make them American. Glad you can answer in a civilized manner though, unlike some people on YT.
@pegleg1992 you guys are talking about the Rover V8 and whether it is American, British or now Indian. This particular engine was from a Rover SD1 Vitesse not a Land Rover. The Rover engine is actually a Buick engine bought and developed by Rover. I guess we could say it is an American engine built (and modified) in the UK by a UK manufacturer that closed some years ago. Rover's Land Rover cousin was bought by an Indian company. I think the link with India is a little distant.
thanks for the vid dude i;m thinking of buying a cobra the sound is addictive i thought my 110ci harley sounded awesome but the sound of a v8 just makes me piss myself !
Soory for the late comment but that is not a ford 427 engine mate.... it is likely to be a Rover: that s what they mount on those sort of replicas.... which, from the interiors, is certainly an english one.
NIce little clip.... Our Cobra Rep. is Rover/Buick V8 too! Sounds just awsome, a lot of the V8 builders agree the rover/buick engine sounds as good if not better than some of the bigger v8's. Somthing to do with the angle of the V i'm told...??? Find a long tunnel to take it through!
yes i know its based ff a buick. i was just telling that submitaweasel it wasnt a ford v8 but a rover v8. so he was half correct about it being american.
Hi - well its a 3.5 litre buick/rover v8 - 5 speed transmission, it is the second engine i have got through in 12 years of owning it - if you are ever in Chelsea in London I'd be happy to take you for a spin, my girlfriend is not a fan of it so any excuse to get it out! cheers Cogs
@c9ogs Hi sir, if this offer is still up for grabs I'd love to come for a spin with you. And if you're after a tunnel, well, I'm sure I can find you a couple of folks who enjoy doing the same... ;)
bumpy indeed !! I am going to make a better video of the in the next month or so, it has has the engine tuned, new exhaust and new leather interior, so almost back to original spec. Thanks for watching, Cogs.

Correcting a mistake on my second reply:
"new parent company is American"
should be
"new parent company is Indian"
pegleg1992 1 year ago
@pegleg1992 why india???
xmodrock 1 year ago
@xmodrock
Tata Motors, the current parent of Rover and Land Rover, is Indian.
