  • I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS!! yes. musicality is everything. It brings life to a dead composition :)

  • Mr ViolinVlog, thanks a lot for your inputs. I'm practicing violin for more than 2 years and until now i don't know how to put my fingers on the fingerboard in the 2nd or 3rd position. Hope you can demonstrate in your next video. I appreciate your help.

  • Omg, I wish I could play by ear. I totally suck at that. I'm seriously tone deaf too, but I still love to play.

  • it just takes getting used to

  • it's easy!

  • thanks for the dedication Buck.

  • anytime :)

  • Hey can u make a video on how to play bitter sweet symphony? Pleez ahah im deserparate!!!

  • hrmmm it's pretty simple and repetitive. all on the e string...you can play it by ear!

  • Cool! Im just curious, is th easeness of doing the vibrato has something to do with the type of string you install on your violin together with the bridge height?

  • the string doesn't really affect vibrato...bridge height is likely negligible as well.

  • how are you?

  • I really loved this video. You know I'm going to take up the violin again thanks to you! If all goes well, I start sometime this year. I am a violin person after all...

  • OYE!! long time no see! yea lets see some violin vids!

  • Wow! I really love this vlog! I take my hats off you! =)

  • anytime!

  • Buck, Thanks for trying to help we beginners! I have a question: How do you determine that the Josh Bell tune is "fiddle" rather than "classical"? To my very untrained ears, it sounds classical, but I know Bell considers it fiddle.

  • Yeah, it feels more like a violinny piece then a fiddle tune, but it's a lovely bit of tune nonetheless.

  • hrmmm...I guess I thought it was along the lines of fiddle due to the rustic sound and open strings. If you click on the link at the upper right in the issue description, you can listen to his rendition. It sounds very...for the lack of a better word...homely? It's just a label anyways...just enjoy the music! lol

  • blah....

  • Yes, I do like what you have done with this song. Changed the timing a bit between certain notes which seems to improve it a bit. Thanks for sending this to me. I took violin lessons for 1 year but had to give it up due to health problems. Someday...

But again, thanks and 5 stars for you.

  • thanks Imite...stay tuned for the vlog per our email :).

  • perhaps...let me get access to the song.

  • Beautiful tune...

You should clean the rosin of your violin though, it ruins the varnish.

  • Thanks, yea I will...just lazy I guess. lol
