I was on the Passo di Gavia on the 20th ettappe from the Giro. Wow. There was snow and very cold. It was something very spectacular what i never forget.
@JOERAMONE3 I can imagine, all the names written in the snow and so. Was awesome stage from my warm home... But i believe, this stage showed was even more epic. And that's not because of the Dutch influence on it. Great day for cycling history!
Now I'm wondering if my last name (Gavia) came from Italy...

Epic stage. Great breukink winning and also great Hampsten. I think he had to suffer warm stages in summer.

I am pretty sure that it is Bob Roll almost dying from hypothermia at 6:45. Supposedly, his heart rate sank to 27 BPM.

Awesome day that sparked American cycling thanks to Hampsten's courageous ride.

@Xavierthegreat666 The one with the burgundy jersey is not Breukink (who was the winner of the stage) but he is Van del Velde.

I think Panasonic sacked Breukink after that year.
He was a great rider.

No, he rode for Panasonic in 89, then PDM in 90. Great rider for sure!
