There is only ONE straight path towards Jannah,towards the pleasure of Allah. And that is the Sunnah of the Beloved of Allah, SalAllahu aleyhi wa sallam. Now, do you think, that if you prefer to follow the lifestyle of the kuffar, the enemies of Islam, enemies of Allah, & you leave the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, the one Allah has sent as a guide, as an example, as a human perfection. Do you think that Allah will be pleased with that?

Of course it is best to follow the Sunnah. I didn't mean to imply otherwise. There is absolutely no argument that the example of the Prophet is the best to follow. My only point was that how one dresses (providing that it does not go against the rules of the religion), is a minor matter compared to iman and to doing good deeds for the sake of Allah. It would be better to dress in a sunnah way, but I would not criticise someone for not doing so as long as they were not doing anything haram.

I understand where you are coming from. And this is a major problem these days. We do not value Sunnah the way it should be valued. We should value, honor & respect the Sunnah the way the Sahaba did. Take for example Abdullah ibn Umar, when he broke his ties with his son because he didnt greet him the way the Prophet, salAllahu aleyhi wa sallam, did.
