Your 1979 telethon tape is truly historic, but this tape is just as priceless:

Ed McMahon's final telethon!

The most money ever raised!

The $2m jump during Abbey Umali's appearance!

And of course, Jerry screaming "I got it!" after surpassing last year's total!

The telethon will never, ever be this exciting again,

but no matter what, I will still continue to donate to MDA and help out Jerry's Kids!!!

@JepMasta I think there are definitely some positives to be found. If we can get bigger stars and better station clearances as MDA has said in the press, that's great. Also, Jerry will be able to do all 6 hours, which is fantastic. It'll be somewhat different, for sure. But I'm cautiously optimistic and excited, and I think the online and text pledging will really help, along with the traditional phone pledges.

@143AC I miss "Big Ed", as Jerry called him, so much. You could tell he was tired and somewhat out of his "normal" element in 2007 and 2008, but that laugh ALWAYS made me, and all of us feel good. I'm glad you enjoyed this!
