The cherry faded to sounded very sweet and has that singing resonating tone. Great demo. I have 2010 faded vintage burst Les Paul junior. Great rock and roll guitar indeed.
You should see and hear the 1985/86 Gibsons 1st Reissue of this. I have one with the Cherry Finish still brand new in the box from Gibson which I've never opened. However I can say this that the model or version I have differs in that it has a stud tailpiece and a tuneomatic bridge, plus a HUGE Black Dog ear P-90 pickup and it comes with silver or nickel Grover tuners only the buttons on the tuners are the smaller type like the older plastic ones would look from the late 50's or early 60's had.
@aleoli1 In fact they do sing...see I was a Gibson dealer back then, amongst my own collection of guitars until a few motns ago I had no idea that the box which I said is unopened and I thought just had one of my other guitars stuck in it by my wife. Much to my surprise it was an unopened box and Gibsons tag on the top told me what it was including the color. I just couldn't believe it. And it's no pity that it's new and in Mint condtion. That guitar will SCREAM after all these years.
Metal? It all depends on which is the sound you are thinking of: the P-90 is not exactly the first choice for hi-gain sounds, but Tony Iommi shows quite well how it can work :)
If you like shredding, tho, maybe it's not the better choice: the Junior is quite like a Telecaster, you sorta have to fight it to squeeze the best out of it. But once you find the way, you play with a constant smile on your face. Just have a try, it's the only way.
@srvledoux9 I think they are no worse than any other single coil, maybe less hum. Its the tone though of the p90 i like above all others that i have played..
remake this video, the audio is poor quality, but the player rocks

Rock for sure. It's perfect for that.

Quite like a strat.
No worries with a good cable and a correctly grounded amp (and effects, of course).
The clip has been recorded about 1mt away from the computer, btw: as you can hear, there's no audible interference.

No, they sound just the same.
The red one is just slightly brighter because of the newer strings, that's all.
I don't know if it could be heard in the clip, tho. Just a nouance.
