  • REME, helping people kill people since 1943

  • Sadly Bordon is getting sold off

  • looking at the lorries makes me want to join the RLC soo much

  • Changed a bit at Bordon since I trained as a gunfitter there in early 1958!

  • AHHH..lol..BTW, I thought you were referring to the Canadian recovery school at CFB Borden Ontario Canada... sorry for the confusion. Just noticed the spelling of B-O-R-D-O-N... oh well..great memories anyway.. :-)

  • @smelyalata I believe Bordon was named after the Canadian Borden, There was a heavy Canadian presence there during the war years.....It was originally called Bordon Camp, But the camp part was dropped, not sure when though. It is or was home to the REME trade training school. (SEME).

  • @23vin850 , CFB Borden opened in 1916 to train CDN forces in WW1, and expanded in 1917 to become home to the Royal Flying Corps Canada and also became home to the Canadian Tank School in 1938. I took all of my RCEME( LORE, LEME, REME) courses at this school and previous to that I also took my courses as an Aero Engine Tech at the Canadian Forces Aerospace and Ordnance Engineering School (renamed; Canadian Forces School of Aerospace Technology and Engineering in mid 90`s).

  • I was last in CFB Borden Ont RCEME school in 90' for my heavy recovery course. Always had a good time in Borden, kinda miss it :-)

  • RNZEME Fixing your F&*$ ups since 1947...

  • f sheds hasnt changed much since i was there in 1985

  • Schönes Fahrzeuge..

  • romania

  • try and get into Ashchurch vehicle depo near tewksbury, lots of vehicles there, probably lots of MAN trucks there.

  • gotta love the Hagglund!

  • whos the idiot that stands in front of a tow rope whilst hoisting a vehicle on a flat bed .You dumbass and the idiots for letting him do it also !!

  • chevy looking van being winched is an rb44. reynolds boughton. was introduced to replace the 1 tonne l/rvr gun tractor. unfortunately it was garbage..

  • hiya

  • Skylinegtr34ful. I had another look and haven't seen a Soviet vehicle- i noticed a Volvo and a few more British makes- Commer, Leyland, Foden and Morris- plus a few American vehicles. I don't know if there's a Zil in there- more than likely. My comment a while back was just that I cannot get my head around the fact that this country does not manufacture big recovery vehicles- or trucks of any size except foreign makes and the British government gave a big order to MAN- instead of LDV Birmingham

  • 4:04 - Isn't that the new "Warthog ATTC" from ST Kinetics of Singapore?

  • That museum aint half cold believe me!

Cdt Sgt Goacher Bordon ATC 2412 SQN

  • the ragheads would love that stuff..........just give it to them

  • SEME Bordon. School of electrical and mechanical engineering. REME trade training school.

  • Good video

  • REME......how many recce mechs are getting hard right now.

  • VERY GOOD

  • Was that a chevy van with a different front end that they were winching?

  • I remember them workshops from when I was in!! You could take the vehicles apart without tools they were stripped so often LOL

  • I like the old REME Museum. Got a lot of interesting vehicles in there. We went at school yeaaaars ago.

(We had the car that Top Gear went to the north pole in, for a charity fundraiser, that was ace.)

  • Once the big recovery vehicles the army used were made in far flung out of the way places like Watford and Basingstoke or Southall. Now they're made just up the road in Vienna- or is that "Goodnight, Vienna?"

  • @NickRatnieks , und einige von diesen Ungeheuern waren in der UdSSR hergestellt...

  • Yep,Bordon is a right dump but I must admit I had some right laughs there.

  • Steady on, it's got the most take aways in one place that can be found anywhere! (Who needs Pay as you Dine, anyway? :P)

  • well good luck then lisn92

  • anyone here know if i would have to do my trade training if i joined reme as a tech if im a fully qualified hgv tech

  • You will probably get fast tracked, depending if you choose A( tracked & heavy) or B(wheeled).

It is dead boring at Bordon. I was rech mech but got out thank god, now I'm much happier in civvie street where I can tell a manager they are wrong without having to abide by some twats that went to uni and havn't a clue.

  • i want to be a HGV Fitter in the REME, AMZING JOB!

  • christmas day is the anaversary of the death of jason garett or J as so many would call him he was in REME for many years for all thoughs still there keep up the grate work that you do

  • Bordon is a shit hole i wasted 3 years there

  • Was that because you were REALLY lucky and did phase 2 at SEME and then got 4BN as a first posting? 4BN's at Tidworth now, would that have been any better?

  • wooooowh go bordon lol

  • that is a really nice lookin westeren star , what year is it?

  • Heya do you have anymore footage or pics of the new MAN recovery vehicle you could send mee? cheers perry

  • Sorry to say no. All though that was one of the reasons we were there, they were still new and not being used. I hope one day I will get invited back to film them working.
