  • @giantman72 they also want engineering college graduates for these jobs, personally i have no time for these graduates the electricians and trades people are the strongest ive worked with for these jobs.

  • @giantman72 ya im electrician for ten years i work alot externally with plc systems but its all maintenance and repairs its hard to get in on the programming side of them which is the real stuff, the funny thing is when i was an electrician i was on great money im on signifigantly less now as a production tech which includes parts of every engineering trade ie. plumbing, electrical, fitter tool maker etc..

  • I am a 13 year veteran of IMM. Great job, great comfortable living and a lot of security. BEST JOB IN THE WORLD. Be careful, human resources is changing the title from Industrial Maintenance Mechanics to Industrial Maintenance Technicians. LEARN TO BE AN ELECTRICIAN AND EMBRACE PLCs.!!!!

  • Right now I'm a junior industrial maintenance mechanic, but I'm will like to c more video!

  • @jahblood01 in Singapore, employers normally combine this position with handyman's jobs.. so they got to repair both machineries and building equipments like sanitary equipments, plumbing, painting, etc.... and i find it inappropriate and ridiculous..

  • @izaatmusic if a factory is organised right there is production technician for machine maintenance and setup and facilities techs(usually contractors)for facility jobs ie.general electric, plumbing, painting etc.

  • @frogman857 I wonder if a factory which is part of an mnc is normally disorganized.. especially those which repairs roll-royce civil aircraft engines.. hmm.. but i've read about that alot.. maybe its the way the managers structure the company.. to cut cost maybe? they should split them up!!! urrgghhh!!!!!!! I dragged my feet to work everytime "facilities" pops up in my head!! I want PURE machine repair!! :/

  • @izaatmusic your right in saying its all about cost,im a production tech and am hired primarily to fix machines in production and set up machines for production, but at times we do jobs in surrounding facility rooms, boiler /compressor rooms which ultimately effect production but is an entirely different skill to fixing automated machinery, the company are now trying to approve space for a guy to do these facility jobs but management wont approve.

  • @frogman857 you have to do plumbing for toilet as well? and painting? carpentry? i want to get rid of those! lol

  • @izaatmusic no just the plumbing and electrical maintenance for boilers/compressors that are needed to keep some machines running,i was electrician by trade so thats ok with me,but if any of us were asked to paint the answer is no,definitly not part of a production techs job.

  • @frogman857 im jealous!
