Back in day, you didn't even have to play an actual game yet to get totally pumped up... All you had to do was watch the intro and you were set! Why in Gods name did EA Sports find the need to drop these? This and the NHL 98 intro were BEAST! If they added something like this to the new gen games, I'd have a bloody sportsgasim!

NHL 04 wasn't bad. had a pretty good soundtrack. anything Pre-1996 was good. but yeah, The new games aren't about the fun parts of hockey, more about the technical parts...but why leave fun stuff out of video games...when they're supposed to be fun?

Yeah, especially AFTER the whistle was blown, because the rest of the team would come after you, and then you get a right mosh-pit on your hands, which was sometimes more fun than the fights themselves. Haven't seen another NHL game that was quite as fun as this one. -It's all about graphics and realism these days (alright for some, I guess). I'd still have this game, and would still play it if I didn't move to Canada - the PS2 was a different format.

Propably the best intro , ever. Just shows how great the nhl was in the 90s. 2000 was good at the time , and 2004 was by far the best from the old ones but got to say 2010 is the real deal. I love how hockey the game is 09 was just too scoring fest with very limited defensive play, very nhl i think. But 10 is almost perfect as in real hockey defence cant be forgotten...
