  • Is that Klaus Voorman on the right? The tall man in the black suit and sunglasses?

He was in the band at a much later stage.

  • @bloderme

It's hard to be sure with his shades on, but he looks like Tom McGuinness to me.

  • @I85PIES That will be Tom on guitar. I think Benny Gallagher on bass of Gallagher and Lyle fame. Also Mike d"Abo on right hand keyboard. I thought they were using Mike Vickers on flute at that stage, not Voorman.

  • They're miming....it's the original version you can hear that, but it is my mums fave Manfreds song.

  • just Fabulous !!!!!

  • Pretty they are miming.

  • @mlillly1 I love the many coments to the effect that "Paul still has it". It's pretty easy to maintain the standard when miming...

  • @Baskerville22

I saw the Manfreds at Cromer Pier Theatre last night, and I can assure you, Paul does still have it. They all do, they were brilliant.

  • As good as ever the very best nothing holds a candle to Paul Jones absolute Magic as good as they were in 1964 what a sound

  • Kidnapp Manfred Mann Stop the earth band and force him to play with the boys,if only still the very best

  • Paul still has it. Simply awesome.

  • Paul still has it. Just fantastic

  • thanks Steve01274

  • Im afraid to look down this list in case someone says this is lip slinkin

  • Saw them at the NEC birmingham at the Jasper Carrott xmas rock with laughter..they were brilliant

  • Cheesily performed and that guy in the shades is definately not playing that guitar. Still a great song, so 60's !

  • Sounds great to me.

  • I think the words to the song are cute.

  • This was written by Mark Barkan who also wrote the Banana Splits Song (One Banana two Banana)

  • that explains it then, better to have it than not have it

  • awsome song, too bad the sound is low, great band, regrettably underrated

  • poor sound due to old vhs tape

  • im 27 but this song is quality, love this music

  • I saw the Manfreds last night 24/sept.and I could not believe Paul Jones he looks just the same as in this vid,a great harmonica player too,a great night out.

  • Paul Jones is a legend - love his radio show.

  • I love this song!!!!! :')

  • God bless the pink spot! They sound and look wonderful. I really like this song.

  • I was surprised to read that Paul Jones is a cousin of the late Brian Jones of the Rolling Stones. In fact, Paul Jones turned down an offer to be the front man for the Stones before Jagger.

  • Paul Jones is not a cousin of Brian Jones, his real name is Paul Pond and they played together in Thunder Odin & The Big Secret.

Brian didn't like his name and changed for a short time to Elmo Lewis and Paul Pond who didn't like his name neither ask Brian permission to use his.

  • Some sweet day I'll make her mine pretty flamingo...

Then every guy will envy me...

Cause paradise is where I'll be!

  • yeah, great song, agree with halmusic needs more volume, thanks a lot

  • Great song! Great group! This posting needs MORE VOLUME!!!

  • Does anyone know for certain whether the guy on bass is Benny Gallagher from Gallagher and Lyle fame??

  • @so17931p - it is indeed Bernard Joseph Gallagher. I saw the Manfreds in concert in Southport in '92 and he was in the line-up. Rob Townsend (Family/Blues Band) is on drums, while Mike Hugg shares keyboards with Mike d'Abo.

  • Mike D'Abo who is on the right side keyboard took over from Paul as lead singer, my favourite song by Manfred Mann is Mighty Quinn which was sung by the brilliant Mike who was so sexy back then, he is a great song writer too, he wrote Build me up Buttercup and Handbags n Gladrags to name but a few

  • What took him so long to get around to recording handbags n gladrags? I love the stereophonics version of that song.

This is a great video from mid '90's, love this song too.

  • Paul Jones sounds awesome. If I closed my eyes and listened to this tune I would not be able to distinguish if this was a live performance or the actual record. Absolutely brilliant. I love Manfred M.ann.

  • love this song recently heard it for sonebody i love who died still crying

  • It's both things: THey plays at an festival, but it's playback

  • There are 2 keyboards in this scene! One played by Mike D'Abo who is behind Tom McGuiness on the right and the other played by Mike Hugg (the original drummer) who is on the left hand side

  • They played playback in the period 1990-1993. That was because The Manfreds is without Manfred Lubowitz (Manfred Mann)! I can't see a keyboard or organ or piano on the sceene, so the're bad "playbackers"

  • Paul is vocalist on this and all the songs he recorded back in the 60s. Mike is on keyboards and performs the songs he sang originally.

  • Still a great sound 1st class

  • This is Mike d'Abo; the original was Paukl Jones.

  • no its not, this is paul jones singing.

if you pause it at 1:47, Mike d'abo is the one on the keyboard on the right

  • Marvel of a song.

  • Whilst they may be lip-synching here I can tell you that having seen the Manfreds in concert they still know how to hit the right notes. Paul Jones' voice is as strong as, and Mike d'Abo isn't too bad either

  • Mike D'Abo

  • No, Paul Jones

  • Sorry, right enough, Mike d'Abo.

  • Sorry, right enough, Mike d'Abo.

  • Great song, brings back memorable moments

  • Looking & Sounding GR8 - thanx for posting

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you. LOVE LOVE LOVE this song x
