you should work for a radio chat show as you are quite a funny geezer with a mild manner..Great video..I picked my cpc 464 today for 35 quid and blimey it's like brand new with all boxes, manuals tapes, the green screen and the tv modulator..
The CPC is a very nice machine. I never tried one back in the day, but since doing these videos have found it to be very impressive for an 8 bit system.
I am pretty new to your stuff, but this was another great video! Thanks :)
The speed and number of mummys from the start can be selected before you start. The game can run really fast.
To leave each level find the chest AND the key. To be able to kill one mummy, find the blue thingie. If you kill one of them, you will get one mummy less on the next level.
brilliant game, great to see the amstrad version, looks really detailed , im always impressed by the amstrad's graphics now seeing them in colour lol.
Ah, this is the SteveBenway we know and love! You play a good game and the commentary follows suit! :D
That's not to say it was a bore to watch your other vids, of course but the "juicy nuggets" were fewer and farther between when you were playing those C16 games. The funniest bit was the "wrong joystick port continuity complex". :D
I might've danced to the tune...but it annoyed me after a bit lol. :P
@AtsumaKarin It's definitely more fun making videos of games that I like. I really don't enjoy saying negative thing about games that I don't like, coz I know that's someone's hard work I'm slagging off.
You know... sometimes, while watching this video, I like to pause it and then hold down the left arrow on my keyboard. You should try it out yourself. I need to make a Steve Benway "Oh Dear!" t-shirt. This looks like a fun pick up and play game.
What an odd little title, I've got it for the Speccy... there's far less to the 48k game than this one even. Amidar or Spiderdroid is a good comparison, not a bad game but rather boring and repetetive before too long. Thanks for showing the CPC 464 version!
First look, it looks visually naff lol :o) Have you seen that cpc that Marcus got, the lucky bugger!! lol Gameplay seems quite good once played :o) I can't help but feel this reminds me of vic 20 games :o) It's like an egyptian pacman lol
I wonder if Tescos would be happy to put this on their website as a sort of 'trolley training' simulator lol :o)
Yes, there was a security guard, and he got you lol :o)
@SteveBenway Don't you diss the poor neglected c16 you nasty bugger lolololol. I hope you give it plenty of supplies of tissues, it must feel so depressed for having none of the actual good games that this system has :o)
Watching these is giving me that lovely fuzzy twang of nostalgia in the belly... takes me back to Christmas 1985 (probably) when me and my mates all got the 8 bit computers between us..... I was the Speccy owner, another had the C64, another mate had the C64, another had the Electron. One poor sod even got a Commodore Plus 4. So we had and endless mass of games to play for many many years. Great days. I clearly remember playing this and Roland On The Ropes on my mates machine..
@misterintellivision It is an odd one, though as it's supposedly an Egyptian tomb and those are mummies chasing me... I guess there's a certain logic to it.
Still feels more like shopping at Tesco to me though ;)
I'm gonna go around Tesco humming this tune from now on.

Ooooh Mammy!
I remember completely destroying my joystick trying to manoeuvre my way round this game. Man, those joysticks used to break really easily.

I used to play Oh Mummy a lot, and even my parents thought it was fun. Yes, it's too simple, but it looks nice and plays well.
Steve, you were pretty good at playing it lol ... good play test.

@LeShark75 Ah... the Tatung Einstein. I've never seen one of those in the flesh, but read an amount of them.

Not too many guys will do a gameplay video when they have really no idea how to play then you figured it out, and kicked retro butt. Kudos

@RetroGamerVX Yeah, I've seen Marcus' CPC. It's a very interesting piece of kit.
This game is pretty basic, but the capabilities of the machine are way above the Vic 20... or the nasty, nasty C16.

@mathowlett None of my friends had the Amstrad, back in the day, so all of this is entirely new to me.
Most of my friends had Spectrums, while one had a Dragon 32, followed by a C64, and another had an Electron.

You still should have showed the instructions - there might have been a story!
DdlyHeadshot 1 year ago
@DdlyHeadshot Could have. There is no "should" have. It's all a matter of personal preference.
Personally I find stories connected to games as simple as this to be pointless contrivance.

@SteveBenway Sorry - I didn't mean to offend. I just thought the story might be good and provide some background...

I see your point about finally moving onto a better machine. Not that I wasn't interested to see the C16 in action.
rhydermike 1 year ago
@rhydermike The C16 was interesting from a historic perspective, but this machine is genuinely fun to play :)

I could see myself getting into this back in the day. Even the music, which is basically a 5 second looped tune, is awesome.
