  • It's very beautiful cover of a cult "Why did Herasim drown his Mumu"...

  • She is a wonderful singer but this song is not for her image or voice. Bad taste

  • seems strange in rumanian but intresting ...Laiurence michel0512

  • A song for ever !... Her parrents and Sofia Rotaru are romanians from Bucovina, wich was a part of Romania befor the Second World War.

  • @Wasia0wasilisa

    Continued part2

    .........

Wine-colored days warmed by the sun

Deep velvet nights when we are one

    Speak softly, love

So no one hears us but the sky

The vows of love we make will live until we die

My life is yours and all because

You came into my world with love so softly love

  • Talent Romanesc! Bravo, toti se mandresc cu ea!

  • Could anybody translate this song?

  • @wasia0wasilisa Speak softly, love And hold me warm against your heart I feel your words The tender trembling moments start We're in a world, our very own Sharing a love that only few have ever known Wine-colored days warmed by the sun Deep velvet nights when we are one Speak softly, love So no one hears us but the sky The vows of love We make will live until we die My life is yours and all because You came into my world with love so softly love Wine-colored days warmed by the sun ...
  • @wasia0wasilisa

RegniA just posted the English version, not a translation of what Sofia is singing.

The Ukrainian lyrics and proper English translation are on the website at the link in my YouTube channel.

The song is "Скажи Що Любиш" listed under "Various" in the list of artists.

  • Wonderful! By the way Chernivsti was always in Ukraine.

  • Very good!

  • Idealno!!!!

  • Ogromnoe spasibo za pesnju!...

Нiколи не чула цю мелодiю у виконаннi Софii Ротару.

Super!!!

  • her name is a Romanian name... i think her grand grand grand parents were from Romania... and that's very possible because Chernivtsi, where she was born, was decades ago in Romania.

  • Great job on her ancenctry tree - congratulations. I suggest you go even further and investigate her great grand (6times) parents back in 15th century - this way you can get even greater satisfaction.

  • Her nams is Moldavian, she has siad it herself many many times! Moldavia exists since 14th century, Romania since 1878... So please, Chernivtsy before was in Austria Hungaria...

  • @BabkaParaska

Her sister Aurica told in an interview that their family name is Romanian and that they had problems with the Communist authorities who changed their family name to Rotar, so that it sounds Ukrainian.

Moldavians are Romanians as Macedonains are Bulgarians. Moldova and Macedonia are just a product of Stalin.

  • Calm Romanians ... She Ukrainian singer she has a few songs on the moldovan language. Sofia sings in Ukrainian and Russian languages, she has very little songs on the moldovan ... and Bukovina is Ukraine and will never be yours. Do not dream…!

  • Love Story

  • Bravo!!!

  • Dakuyu!!!!

  • lovely, nice to hear another version of this song

  • In Soviet Russia, Godfather Love Theme sings YOU!

  • what do you mean exactly???

  • @topclaw (facepalm)

  • The original melody was composed by italian

    musician Nino Rota.

The interpretation of Sofia is really great!

Clear and strong with so much passion!
