  • Truth is that dog just doesn't respect u...it don't matter if he is part wolf or not bc all dogs fallow pack mentality and if he saw u as the pack. Leader than u should have been able to take any food substance from u and obviously u couldn't

  • @abvplayer12 true my mid content was trained in advanced obedience and completely leash and off leash trained. I could hand feed him raw meat and bones without him snatching and i could take it back and he wouldnt care because he was taught to share his food and that i am not there to eat his food so he never cared for me touching it. This dog looks like a lab mixed with a Sweedsih elkhound because of the flopy ears and curly tail. Any dog can be food aggressive its not a wolf thing.

  • @1NecroSpawn yea just look at this vid as long as you know how to take care of a wolf dog and handle it they can be trained to be gentle. Type this in the search box on youtube to see wolf dogs being fed raw meat and someone playing with the food while they are eating. Wolfdogs Eating.MOV

  • I have never seen a wolf/lab mix before so I don't know how they are supposed to look but he definitely has husky in him. I have a wolfdog that no doubt looks like a wolf. As far as the food aggression, my boy has it too but with patience you can use Cesar Millan's techniques to change the behavior. He's no longer aggressive, he just kinda pauses when eating but doesn't snarl or snap anymore. You should try to change the behavior because if you got bitten bad enough and had to go to a hospital,

  • DOG DOG DOG. There is NO WOLF in that animal. You are blind, ignorant and stupid for raising him that way. He should NOT be food aggressive. Idiot.

  • my boxer is name cooper

  • If this dog had even a low contents wolf in it the tail would be straight..

  • This is a dog... you can't train wolfdogs on command..

  • if you want a hybrid get a Czechoslovakian Wolfdog i have heard that they great hybrids

  • I can see the Wolf in his eyes. My neighbor has a Coydog or Dogote or whatever you want to call them its a dog mixed with a Coyote. He does the same thing when you try to take his food away lol.

  • Anyone who knows anything about phenotyping Wolf Dogs can tell you that this is not a Wolfdog. People who tell you % have no clue about genetics or breeding.

If it looks like a duck???

  • @bintheredidthat ~ I agree with you.. this is a dog.. what is with people wanting wolfdogs so bad... this is like saying i have indian in me.. if he had a wolf believe he won't know what to do..

  • I like how he tells the dog, 'it's in the tree' as if the dog either speeks english or would reply a 'ah, thanks!' to him!

  • 3:10 I Was like: omg he's going to kill him.

  • That was cool, you gave him a nice treat. Not good to antagonize him over it though, He looks like a sweetie pie. I don't think he recognizes you as alpha though, too much dog in him for pack behavior he's a low content wolfdog. I know someone with a mid-high content, anything with Mid content would have perky ears.

  • @gamerkid66 YOU haven't read any of the previous comments...and YOU don't know anything about dogs/wolves. If nothing else (b/c I know "kids" don't read these days) go watch a video. Even low ranking wolves in the pack communicate through growls and barks. Why I have to keep answering this same question/statement over and over is a mystery to me. You get your place in the pack and a voice. IF you bothered to read the description and previous comments...you might GET THIS>

  • Comment removed

  • @CANTWELL52319 It also doesn't sound like you know how to abbreviate You and Are..which would be "you're" alpha. k? thanks...bye.

  • So if you gave it too him directly would he still be defensive when you approached ?.

  • @TheShoui Yes. This has been proven when I give him raw bones. However, I am able to (basically) force him down and get him away. I have some vids of this too, but cannot find the (old school) tapes. He will attempt to dominate anyone (or dog) that has food...and the additional motive behind this is the fact that we cut his diet in half due to the fact that he blew his ACL tendon and gets about half as much exercise. I can still take food/prey/toys away from him whenever...

  • @gary83uk -- You simply said "it has nothing to do with genetics". I suppose I took that as a universal statement to all sorts of situations, so I apologize. Your point seems more valid, now.

  • Awesome dog and great video bro.

  • should have buried it in the snow and leave a trail for him

  • The difference in behaviour between dogs and wolf-dog hybrids is so overstated, the majority of wolf-dog hybrid owners give too much respect to the instinctual behaviour in hybrids and as a result they tend to hang around, the same instincts are just as present in dogs and is easily trained out in either species.

If your wolfdog challenges you when you try to take its food away then you have not discouraged that behaviour, it has nothing to do with his genetic makeup.

  • @gary83uk Prove that statement. I'm not saying you're not correct in certain instances, but I would like to see your sources. You don't get to come here and comment with what may be pseudo-science and not get called out on it. I suggest reading Wilde and Sloan, as two experiential experts. As for Cooper, as has been stated before. There are some very wolf-like instincts that, no matter what I do, I cannot train out. But yes, most of his behavior is very dog-like and predictable.

  • @gary83uk,

Training and leadership is an obvious MUST with any K-9 and of course the behaviors are found in dogs- but the intensity, complexity and reactiveness is often not. Wolves mature and so do their instincts and this can also be seen in some wolfdogs. Big Difference.

  • @gary83uk,

You raise/train/handle a wolfy wolfdog like a dog, you will have some serious problems later on. You raise/train/handle it like a wolf, you will be more prepared to deal with behavioral problems should they arise.

  • @gary83uk -- To say it has nothing to do with genetic makeup is absolutely ignorant. Look at the silver fox domestication established by the Russians. Training is a significant factor, but to say it has nothing to do with genetics would imply a kitten and lion cub trained similarly will have the same temperament.

  • what do they eat , im not getting a proper wolfdog , im interested in czechoslovakian wolfdogs and saarloswolfhonds ( i dont really know the difference)

  • wow he is an amazing wolfdog....you'vew obviously raised him very well. i love the sound of wolves growling... he has a nice snarl!

  • I miss my hybrid, my local authorities took him.

Yours is really cool, typical hybrid attitude too. I was lucky enough to have a hybrid that was really 50/50 so I knew behaviour was coming from where.

Yours also knows who is boss. For those who missed it, his tail is down and his ears are back. He's afraid/challenged by his alpha. The dog knows who's boss.

  • This is a great video to show wolf hybrid behavoir but take my advice since I had a wolf hybrid myself...

Do NOT tolerate growling, and especially teeth bearing. you MUST remain the alpha at ALL times. only YOU can growl and bear teeth, not the beta, not the lower ranks. This behavior proves your hybrid will challenge you for alpha, or already considers himself beta. Not Good.

  • @slugzkea had you read previous comments you would have seen that this was a jest. I do correct him EVERY time, since I have a daughter. thanks for advice tho'

  • @slugzkea wrong...read up. If you suppress the growling instinct in your dog/hybrid, then you have canceled one form of their expression. The next stage is to go straight to "bite." Even low-ranked wolves get to growl in order to express their position when the time comes.

  • lol i used to have a german shepherd named cooper

  • You really know you're animal body language! What a handsome boy! Good to see someone who has well researched a breed and adjusted to it's specific needs.

  • What a beautiful animal. I'm glad to see he's with someone who has the patience and dedication he needs. Kudos.

  • I have a very pack oriented dog - so I understand what you mean. He's a pretty wolf dog .

  • you wolf hybrid is so cute i wish i had one XD

  • dixieandleona: "but he is a cute dog, remineds me of lucky a pup i had that i gave to my moms boyfriend "

Wow...where to start...maybe with the grammar and the trailer park ethos of trading/giving dogs away? I'm sure that there is a half a pan of mac-n-cheese and a 40 oz waiting for you back at tornado central

    bye bye bye

  • Odd that you keep coming back and using different usernames.

    Bye bitch. bye bye bye

I'm glad that you "Fell" sorry for me.

  • bye...bye and bye...stop trolling. Like I said, I didn't go shopping for this dog...and I know both his parents. I've been a biologist for 14 years and I know what I know IN PERSON, just like you don't know what you don't know from a 4 min youtube vid. Bye.

  • You're a moron

  • And you know this how?...From a 4 min low res internet video and all your expertise?

    That's what I thought

  • he scared me at the end

  • I walked up to the porch, he didn't much care for that, he growled low. I came timidly, saying "give me the mitt" in a complacant tone. I reached for the mitt but he took in his mouth. I stood up taller determined to get my mitten back. I said in a firm tone "give me the mitt" with my hand on the mitten, and he let go of it easily. His attitude changed when my body language changed. I was a stupid 13 year old, could have got bit, but thinking of that language is neat. Didn't know it at the time.

  • good insights. I was 22 and babysitting a large german shepherd. She backed me down a few times, but I finally got the posture and voice to get her to obey.

Cooper stole my glove whilst walking, and dropped it in the middle of a frozen pond, where it promptly sank.

  • Wolf body language is so amazing. I have no experience what so ever with dogs, living in the city, this is just an experience I had. I used to have a friend with a neighbour who had a wolf/husky. We used to play in the back with the dog, he was always friendly. On my way over once, I stopped to pet the dog, and he stole my mitten! He took it up back to the porch and laid down with it, like he claimed it. I should have left it alone, I was a bit young...

  • How is this playing with a deer? U should of said wolfdog eating deer meat.

  • lol, great hybrid. It's great that you understand so much about their social structure and body language. It's really clear that you're definitely the pack leader, I wouldn't feel comfortable around a hybrid that didn't respect the human ,but Cooper does! love him!

  • the dog has respect for him but it still gets pretty agressive if you mess wit its food... i wouuldnt feel comfortable unless i had full dominace over a dog like that

  • Someones cranky, he must really want that venison. You can barely see the wolf in it, but it's a beautiful dog. Wish I had me one of them. I wish I had a bunch of rare pets, but I am not sure if they would go good as a combination. I would get proper training and whatnot to keep it under control, but I would just to have one.

  • It's no very smart to encourage that aggressive behavior. He may recognize you has the alpha, but he's certainly not opposed to challenging that...and by his thinking winning when you back away. My bet is you know you'd get bit if you tried to grab that food.

..to the people who are saying that dog wouldn't bite the owner, you don't know what they are talking about.

A dog with an even temperament should not show any signs of aggression...especially when handling food.

  • Its almost half wolf though. Wouldn't that mean it would be more "wild". Which would mean it would be more defensive of food.

And why does it matter if a dog has an even temperment. Im jsut curious. I mean humans don't. I just don't understand what was bad about what that dog did.

  • It matters because it's not responsible to encourage aggressive behavior in a dog, especially a large dog.

  • You are correct. If you notice. My demeanor is very relaxed. I was in a good tone of voice and not menacing him. Therefore, by rights, the food was his. Had I touched it, it would have a been a free for all. I didn't. As I've stated, several times in these comments, this was a jest.

And again: I have, and will continue, to take food/items from him and back him down every time. I've even taught him to stay away from my 1 year old's toys...and that took about 3 minutes...nuff said?

  • i like wolves and dogs, and wolf-dog looks cool, but i don't think i'd manage raising one... doubt i'd even find a breeder around here. The body language thing really was interesting.

  • So cute!!!!!! You've got your dog trained pretty well! It's funny seeing the lab all wolf like XD

And it is true that food aggression is bad, but hello, what can you do with something as good as that? Of course he'll growl. lol

  • Yeah but its fairly obvious at most the dog wouldnt give him a real bite if he took it, the whole thing he was doing was a display, to intimidate and get him to back off, but if you assert your stance, they respect their rank and will back down

  • Hes so CUTE OMG XD

  • I love the mask thing he has going under his eyes. That's just adorable.

Also, I think it's hilarious how everyone just jumps around all high and mighty like they know everything and they can tell just from one interaction between you and your dog just how well trained he is.

My dog wishes we live near somewhere he could get some good venison again. The city just doesn't provide, ya know?

  • I love wolfdogs wolfdogs are awesome

  • Once again you base your puerile judgment on ONE VIDEO AS A JEST. Am I a novice wolfdog owner?...yes in the regards that this 4 1/2 year old is my first and, admittedly, very successfully raised dog. My wolfdog behaves in ways that would put a showdog to shame. This video is a jest, but since you cannot read the description, nor the previous comments, I will let this stand as ANOTHER example of how uninformed and quick to judge the youtube masses are. So...once again...PISS OFF>

  • dude im on your side lol chill

  • Sorry my reply was to SNRF who is now blocked for being a douche...I posted under wrong comment. Sorry!

  • LMFAO of coruse its going to growl wow mg gs always growls when i try to take its shit away, but its in the dogs nature to growl haha thats just fucked up to shut it up, kinda like you get something you really want and it gets takin away your not just going to sit there...

  • Really? They're not "allowed to growl or bark at you?" How exactly do you accomplish that? I don't think you've read the other comments or replies. This was a jest and I was obviously being frivolous. My dog is submissive when it counts and with a look he will back down and away. Piss the fuck off and read before you post.

  • u dick whatisunknown!!!! he liked you and they killed him for no apparent reason!!!!!!!thats fucked up!!!!!

  • How do you get rid of wolf dog? We can't "let him go" and the pound won't take him. It's getting to be too much, and now the cops want to put him down because a neighbors calf got loose and came into the yard today. Of course he did his thing I'm thinking, but my sister needs help ASAP. It seems no one wants him, and the cops are coming back in the morning to 'take him into custody' yeah right. Ideas? Suggestions?

  • google wolfdog rescue, there are several groups and a FB page. Why the hell did you ever get a dog (wolfdog)...? WTF.

And no you can't "let him go."

  • The cops came and got him. He didn't leave the yard ever, unless I was with him. It was my sister's dog, but he was loyal to me. They put him down sadly.

  • Pretty dog ^^ I have a Border Collie and a Czechoslovakian Wolfdog. I was real firm about the training with my wolfdog, because I babysit alot of children. I would eat first, and then I would put out the food for my dogs, and if they got real nosey and started pushing on me I would push back, lol. Nelly (the wolfdog) got real gentle to the point where I could reach down and she would back away from the food. However, I wouldnt let anyone else do it to her, lol!

  • I liked the video but I wish you hadnt provoked him like that. He should be respected while eating not hovered over by you trying to "take" his food.

  • Very beautiful and fierce!

I'd love to own a wolfdog (as much as you can 'own' one, that is!), but I'm sure I'd be biting off more than I could chew - if you'll pardon the expression.

To answer a constantly- asked question: A wolfdog's degestive system isn't the same as a dog's. Normal dog food doesn't provide it with adequate nutrition; it needs raw meat and bones for protien and calcium.

(That's just what I've read, mind you.)

  • As a biologist I would disagree with this assertion...to a point. Any purebred dog is going to have a less adaptable (well everything, actually) digestive system. This is how you get corgis with allergies to certain foods...But a mutt of any kind will have virtually the same GI, liver, pancreas, etc...as a wolf or wolf dog. The only really difference I've noticed is that cooper can eat some pretty near indigestible stuff and not get sick...oh, and A LOT of it.

  • Piss off. Read other comments and description...You don't know me or my dog.

  • Thanks. I want a wolfdog now.

  • beautiful eyes

  • truly represents a wolf

  • wolfs and dogs are the same its just that dogs are around people all the ti a wolfme if is around people all the time it would be the same as a dog. i have 2 huskywolf mix dogs myself and they have never bin agressive to anyone they love people

  • Dogs have been "around people all the time" as they were selectively bred for the past 12k years. I don't know what a wolfme is...

  • I am amazed that you deal with a dog that growls and bares its fangs at you like that. I really do admire that because I could not live with a dog that would be bite me for any reason whatsoever. I say the same thing to people that you said in your comment at the side. I tell people they shouldn't own wolf dogs cuz it takes a lot of extra work and you have to understand them. Your dog is so cute btw with his floppy ears. That's the only lab I see in him lol.

  • dogs are carnivores, not to mention they technically "are" wolves. but hey, i actually don't have a dog, but i read a lot about both canines. whether u believe me or not (though it's true) every dog has pure wolf somewhere deep inside them.

  • But there still is a huge different between a dog and a wolf. Wolves are very aggressive and protective of their family and of food while dogs are generally submissive. Wolves are naturally wild and dogs are domestic.

  • Ummm...this is so far off base.

I don't know where to begin. Wolves as well as wolf-dogs are very frightened of outsiders (human ones) and will run rather than fight, unless cornered.

Dogs are the ones who have been bred to selflessly protect their humans, family, or flock. Almost any biologist or wolf/wolfdog researcher worth a damn will tell you that the things we train/breed herding or guard dogs to do could never be trained into wolves.

  • Some people say their wolf-dogs are easily frightened and others say they can be more territorial. It all depends on the animal. I believe they have personalities just like humans do. My friend had a wolf dog and their dog was very territorial and protective of his family.

  • stopclimatechangenow. im not entirely sure that you know what u r talking about.

  • my wolfdog is high content and loves to catch her own animals. though sometimes i do bring her those whole pigs u get from the butcher. she absolutley loves them. btw. i wouldnt go near the dog while hes eating meat, he will bite the shit out of u

  • So...in that regards, every predator on the planet, from wolf to kingfisher is creating bad karma when they kill and eat another animal? And Karma is exactly what...? Nature? Nature's balance...energy?

    Wow...

  • OMG raw meat makes dogs aggressive, what a load of s***. Every dog I have ever had has been fed a raw diet- from my maltese Tiff 25 yrs ago to my mal Echo.Dogs need the bacteria etc only found in RAW meat.Cooked meat is not as good and canned food is garbage. My dogs eat our scraps and fresh fruit and veg. I have met a vegan 14yr old lab who was fit and healthy. Your dog has a really lab looking face in this vid, the eyes look same as my mal's- are they a goldy colour?

  • Some of the worst contributors to climate change are cows and factory farms-why introduce a diet of whole grains and milk as the alternative to meat? You are arguing against evolution. And before you bleed your sentiment onto my vid, consider that I've been a biologist and enthusiastic environmentalist for almost 2 decades. Just about everything in our daily lives contributes more to global climate change than the locally raised chickens and deer meat I feed my wolfdog. Order: CARNIVORA.

  • I tried to send you a private message, but it wouldn't let me. I sent you a friend request in hopes of chatting more about this one-on-one.

(Also I have questions about your channel, lol.)

  • Well, he does eat a lot of veggies, but no carnivore can survive purely on veggies...Nature, you know.

  • Lol, okay.

  • Do you think its appropriate for an animal that is and always will be a natural predator/carnivore to EVER eat vegan dog food?

  • hahaha i just read ur comment on the sweetpea thing that shits halirious!

  • THI IS A VERY STUPID QUESTION I THINK I NO THE ANSWER.

are there jaws extremely strong due to the wolf?

  • Who on earth would hunt for fun?...too wet, too cold, and too much work.

Only hunt for food. Cooper has 80lbs of free deer meat in the freezer now.

  • lol ur lucky my wolf husky had a dad that was 100% wolf omg it took me 2 years to learn it not to bark sit and beg iv stopt training it it took to much time

  • He's so cute! My dog gets a bit narsty with his food as well, but afterward if he has growled at me(even though I never pester him he just gets all growly if I walk past) he always gives me kisses. :P And I know hunting is not fair when it's just for fun, but a wolfdog has to eat! Is it true that dog food isn't that good for wolfdogs because they tend to eat a lot more than the average dog?

  • "They truly are like, yet not like, any dog you've known...and they certainly are not wolves."

ya call it a wolf enough times in your video though

  • I call my daughter a sweetpea sometimes even when she isn't...you feel better now?

  • lol over populated? so's the human race........

  • Agreed.

  • Not everywhere!

  • That's a very unique looking dog you've got there.

I mean, wolfdog with floppy ears AND a spitz tail? Haven't seen one like it before!

  • he is so funky and cute too!

  • Yeah, you definitely do really well with him. :) Very interesting to see how you picked up on all those cues.

  • you clearly know how to read your wolfdog. good job with training him. hes a very nice looking dog

  • You know nothing about dogs, wolves, wolfdogs, communication, pack structure...please stay off the internet and learn to spell "rubish" correctly. Oh, and read video comments. What kids? You see any kids in this video? Do you think (probably not) that I would allow a child to do this? There is a six foot fence around my yard for a reason. I have a daughter, thank you...and 5 neices/nephews. I always supervise them...with Cooper as with any dog. Use your brain before you make comments.

  • Well said friend.

  • what is s/he?

  • roflol my husky is like that too he pulls stuffs from above then run away when it comes down lol...

  • Beautiful hybrid ^.^

  • Ill be damned if my dog did that to me,

  • Is that so.

  • Some people, every dog will do it over their food XD, even cats do it.

  • He's lovely, stunning wolfdog you have. Do you know what breed of wolf he's mixed with?

  • Read video comments

  • that's an awesome dog, forget what all the PETA fairies say.

  • hey tekmet cool vid. I have two respectful question: why did you let him growl at you? If you tried to pick up the meat, would he bite you? thanks

  • Read previous comments. Growling is natural form of communication for dogs and wolves. Humans have such a problem with growling, because we seem to have nature/control issues anyway. You have to work with all kids of communication. It's like when your teenager talks back...You don't automatically beat the crap out of them. You work within the communication boundaries and eventually you communicate that you are in control. That goes for the genius mrcandycane up there. He hasn't bitten.

  • Ooo-you read a website didn't you? Actually, I'm a biologist and have been for 14 years, so I am very familiar with genetics. However, since most of the viewers on youtube probably aren't, I use simple terms. Yes, F5 (meaning 75% or 3/4 or 5 breedings removed from pure wolf [F=filial, btw...did your website tell you that?]) is a proper term used by breeders, which I (and you) are not. As to the "irrelevant" part I don't know what that means with regards to this video. Troll elsewhere.

  • nice, man ... dog seems happy

  • hes a little bit confused.. :P "A DEER IN/ON A TREE??!!"

  • TO ALL THE POEPLE THAT COMMENT ABOUT GROWLING

Wolves in the wild will growl at another wolf if they are unhappy about something, as simple as that, or if they are challenging. Clearly asll you have to do is hold them down to show YOU are the pack leader, o if they are uncomfortable stop what you are doing.

Beautiful video Tekmet! Just ignnore all those stupid imature comments!

  • Just for your benefit...piss off mate. I know you are an internet expert, because you saw a video of my dog. Let it go, and live your life

  • thats cool. the dudes just havin fun with his dog.

  • ps. I have read about them a TON Everything there is to know. I just have some behavior questions

  • You're an idiot...you obviously haven't read any of the info that came with this video or any of my responses to other comments. So any dog that growls at you, you shoot? Being that I am biologist and have a lot of knowledge about how dogs communicate, and I am capable of interpreting that and thinking rather than reacting...I'll refrain from blowing any brains out of any heads. Cooper is a great dog, very obedient, and intelligent. He was just communicating.

  • Hey dakotab0 is that zero at the end of your name representative of how many brain cells you have? Blow the dogs brains out...ha ha ha ha ha ..what a fuckin kniobhead you must be..I bet all the little kids on your street are scared of such a ruffty tuffty guy as you...you write about respect but you come out with this drivel about blowing a dog's brains out...Geez ..you could never have any respect from anyone over the age of 3 years...you retarded prick!!!!!!!!!

  • He looks like a nice dog, but I would not let him growl at me, not at all. That could lead to serious behavior problems. But I think you know your do pretty good.

Also, I've heard that raw meat turns dogs "wild" or aggressive, so consider this and BE CAREFUL!

I love how you treat him as part of the family. That is how it should be.

  • theres low content, mid and high, odviosly the higher content, the more wolf in the background, i personally am looking into low content, for a first time owner, just worried about escaping, i have 6 ft, but they can jump 8 feet just sitting, there not pets , there more companions, there brain is far larger than a dog,i have a pure husky at the moment, what a demon, this video scares me, that dog wanted to rip him a new ass

  • How do you get 7/16ths heritage? That fraction doesn't make sense.

  • IT does actually.

Father was 7/8 wolf and 1/8 malamute...

cross that with 1/2 yellow lab, and you get 7/16 wolf.

    As to the 7/8 wolf...

    full x 1/2 = 3/4

    full x 3/4 = 7/8

    The "math" adds up.

  • Wolfdogs are generally terrible pets that aren't worth the risk, but it seems like you know what you're doing to an extent.

  • Looked like he wasn't quite sure about it I guess Cooper doesn't get treated to venison too often.

  • If he didn't challenge the wolfdog at least a little, it probably wouldn't know he's in charge.

  • haha,YA KIDDING Me oops did not mean shouting, but,he ran away from your meat tree, and by the by all dogs will defend their dinner, you don't have to drop it in their lap

  • is there much crime in rockford? i might move there.

  • I think it's a fairly good idea to sometimes hide the wolf hybrid's food, due to him actually having part wolf in him and normally in the wild, they have to search for their food to get it. But i wouldn't torment your dog if I were you. For one, it's disrespectful and makes you look like an ass, two, a lot of wolfdogs don't react well to taunting/tormenting.

  • actually...if you have a wolf cross you should put raw meat into their diet because their digestive system is different to normal dogs. you should give it raw meat, some fish, eggs, etc... the other stuff is for protein.

i agree the owner was wrong to torment the dog, but you should give them meat. i know this because ive rescued 8 of them, so please dont think that im just saying this for the hell of it. im know what im talking about. x

  • that is awesome

where do you get a deer carcass like that from?

at my local petstore they sell all sorts of animal "bones" but not entire carcasses

  • You go hunting...in this case, buddy of mine got this using a bow in early Dec. Thanks for comments.

  • was that the deer's ribcage?

    thats what it looked like

  • what is he mixed with?

  • Nice looking dog :). I used to have 2 myself. A brute of a male that was 4/5ths timber and 1/5th malamute i believe and i forget the female. Chow i think (she often scared people cause she looked like a coyote lol). But yeah, the male was massive, easily stood taller than me when i was 6'2. But was an absolute sweet heart, trying to tackle or paw box to give people kisses. Until there was food involved, then he did exactly what your dog did. Except he managed to look a lot meaner!

  • so are you trying to teach him how to eat raw meat or to hunt deer or maybe just for a present?

  • Does anyone read video descriptions anymore? He eats a raw food diet, all the time. This was just a treat. And I would love for someone to explain how a deer carcass in a tree is going to teach him to stalk, hunt, bring down, and kill a deer. He chases animals when we are in the woods, like any other dog, but he does not "hunt."

  • I had a chinese sharpei that was an agressive dog when he saw other big dogs usually bigger than he was. Little dogs he just would look at them with his head turn sideways like he was wondering, why is he tiny, but I could always take his bowl away from him while he was eating. I could give him a big bone or raw hide and take it back, he would never growl or act like he would attack. He would just look at me kindly and wait until I give it back and I would praise him for being good.

  • Probably because I'm not an idiot, I wouldn't let any child go near ANY dog while eating. That is common sense. And that issue has already surfaced with my nieces. He eats alone, and they don't get to go near him.

  • funny vid. I hope you kept some of that for grillin' later. LOL

    He's a beauty!

Give "Superduper Cooper" a high paw from me!

  • I'm going to laugh when your dog eats your face....they don't work that way.

  • wow if that were my husky he would loooooove that. lately he has been going across a river near my house and eating a dead deer >:o now i have to walk him on a leash lol

  • That is an Agouti Husky

Wolfdogs of any significant content don't have any of his features.

  • Wolfdogs vary greatly, and rarely look alike. Even wild Grey Wolves in Alaska vary from individual to individual, and region to region. Let alone the fact that Wolves themselves vary greatly in appearance, and behavior, over entire Continents. I have an Akita/Alaskan Husky, and a JRT. My Huskita sometimes really resembles a Wolf in actions, and character. It makes us wonder, but her Alaskan Husky side could account for it. Some Alaskans were created with Sibe/Wolf crosses in their recent past.

  • I am amazed that you can tell so much about my dog from a 4 min low rez video. Like I said previously. It takes all kinds.

  • Beautiful dog. I had 3 Hybrids. Very high content. They are not for everyone. You should be able to take that carcus or any food away without any growling on his part. Very important for future hybrid owners to read up on wolf behavior as you need to basically become a wolf when establishing yourself as the Alpha. But once that's established, they can make wonderful , loving & comical pets.

there's a good book out there called 'ABOVE REPROACH' about hybrids.

    Good Luck TEKMET!thnx for sharing!

  • I disagree with you on that...in part. Every dog/wolf no matter rank gets their time at the "table" and no other may take that away. Even an Omega, once it is their turn to eat, don't get in their way. As I've replied before. I can AND have taken food and animals right out of Cooper's mouth. I agree with the great pets part...if given the time, love and energy they deserve. Thanks for suggestion and post!

  • I hope no offense was taken TEK! I ran out of characters when I posted to you yesterday. Also I only read the comments on this page & wasn't aware this question was brought up b4. Hope you had a great holiday & wish you & Cooper many more happy years together. Be good.

  • Agreed. Great book by the way.

Excellent that you passed that along.
