I am thinking of making a shirt-printed with jazz important piano composers and improvisers. such as garner ,blake, and some who are alive such as kapustin and chucho valdez . i believe the face of that period of jazz improvising is yours. i let you know when i decide to create that and make another shirt exactly the same in order to give to you. and last but not least. which women are you married to ..so i find one of the same to give such inspirations.! go on.
I stumbled onto this song by accident and am I so glad I did. I loved this song I remember my mother use to sing this song. I love your arrangement. I'm desperately trying to learn jazz and having been trained in classical music find it very difficult to improvise like that! Is there sheet music to your arrangement?
Very very nice! Isn't this the tune "Memories of You" by Eubie Blake rather than Charleston Rag? I believe Charleston rag was in Bb Minor and this definitely doesn't sound minor?
Please post more soon! It's a treat to hear you play.
ah mate this is inspiring!! really nice stuff here loved the chord progressions. Check out mine! ive just started learning more jazzier stuff. 5 star !!!
No wonder TV network people are freaking..Some guy with monochrome hands and a cloud-roll machine and a schmaltzly Eubie Blake tune and no worries about market shares whatsoever (can you dig it, 2,467 views?)
just made a video that, pound for pound, is as good
as...as...:Fresh Prince,,," & "CSI & the entire Disney Channel,
This is the best version I've heard. I've never really connected with this song before(sorry guys!!) but your usual great touch (especially in the upper registers) has made me re-think. Thanks Alfonso, Jon :)
Hi Stimey, I have the yamaha dgx 620 grand piano with graded hammer keyboard, the sound is not standard to the keyboard, the sound is with Tascam Gigastudio, Steinway D from sampletekk, need PC with 3000 Mhz, Soundcard with GSIF, 2 gb ram and of approximately 15 gb space to load this piano
You know I play guitar Alfonso and I learn from you everytime I listen. Your harmonies are delightful and the touch on those keys lets you produce great music and great jazz... Belissimo. Take care and thanks.
Thanks Creolelady281, there is a big difference, especially the Acoustic Piano has a much more dynamic high, which allows even more than express touch. I love the Acoustic Piano.
About digital pianos, do you know Pianoteq? It's the first truly modelled piano, not sampled, and extremely small (15 MB). I invite both you to try it, hope you be surprised.
Thanks Jaleo360, I tried the Pianoteq, very interesting piano, only 15MB, the sound is also good, sincerely Pricing (240 €) I think is a little too high.

Alfonso! Great of you to return to us with this soothing rendition of a song written before many of our grandparents were born! I love how yours pours out and sustains the gentle mood -- apropos of reflecting on "memories." The ending made me remember a favorite pianist/composer: Henry Mancini. He had the sort of deft elegance that you possess. Ciao!
Alfonso - you are getting better and better!. Your very controlled and sensitive version has reminded me that this is a great song that I had forgotten about playing.
A nice tune with your trademark lightness of touch and great sound reacording. I'm a sucker for the standards - any chance of your version of My Funny Valentine sometime? :) thanks.

An excellent version, among your high quality vids. Soothing, supple, strong and full of feeling; I think that summarises how I hear it.
