  • I hope you used shade seed with your sod, or that you are planning on taking out that tree, the sod died because it didn't get any sunlight!!!

  • your video is very helpful and seems very simple. question regarding killing the weed: after killing the weeds, do i need to wait some time before i till and install the new sod? and another one: there's already a sprinkle system in place, is tilling going to mess up the sprinkler system? thank you so much.

  • @hoonytee

Depends on what your using to kill the grass and weeds. If using Roundup I would wait until everything looks dead before tilling, probably around a week. It should say on directions of the weed killer you're using. Before tilling, mark sprinkler heads with a flag so you can avoid them when tilling. Most circuit lines should be buried around 8-12" so it shouldn't be a problem if you till 2-3" deep.

  • I have a question: I just bought a home and the yard is over 50% weeds, do I kill the grass/weeds, till then shovel flat? Or can i just till up all of the grass/weeds and shovel? Do I need to kill the grass/weeds first?

  • @InsightCreationz

I would kill weeds and grass first for two reasons. First it will keep you from tilling weed seed into the soil, and second it will make grading after you till much easier.

  • What are you doing????? DO NOT step on it that will hurt it.

  • wonderful thanks so much

  • Lawn roller? Or no...

  • @diddles123wtf

I didn't use a roller on this job because it was so small. It was only 150 sq. ft.

  • Excellent Job...very clear and easy to follow!

  • What fertilizer did you use? Good video

  • @stephenlizcano

I used Sustane 4-6-4 slow release fertilizer that is good for root stimulation and won't burn the roots. Thanks for the feedback.

  • very helpful thanks

  • Easy to follow directions for laying our own sod, just in time for getting our yard ready for spring!

  • @barbararlester

Good luck with your laying your sod.
