ann miller told stories of dancing so much take after take in some movie prductions that between takes she had to spill the blood out of her shoes because her feet were bleeding so bad from so much work
im 17 years old and im so glad my parents raised me with MGM and Disney films...all my teachers get so surprised when i tell them i listen to judy garland and frank sinatra lol
Wow! Anybody around today who could do that? Well, maybe, maybe, maybe on Broadway, but that kind of style and virtuosity has completely fled from the movies.
nowhere near...it's a dead art I think...dancing AND singing! today they can barely do one let alone both - No wonder revivals are so lame compared to the originals!!
@marinaiki - I find it really heartbreaking to hear you say that. I am a young professional performing artist that does just that. Dancing and singing is not dead, it's just trying to make a come back.
omg she's so amazing! if u look close, she doesn't even run out of breath until the very end! talk about stamina! she doesn't even get dizy! woah! 10/10!!!!!!!!!!!! even more than that: 100000/10!
@UGOMANGO12 I so agree. the women of classic hollywood are 1000 times more talented than any female performer today. As a matter of fact the female performers of today suck compared to Ann, Judy, Betty, Alice Faye and others.
No, she didn't fall down the stairs! Her husband pushed her! He pushed her down the stairs, she broke her back and then her baby died 3 hours after she was born. :) I looked on imdb. :)
no need be sorry and no I never met or wrote her, the story was on the special of easter parade but I can,t believe a man can do such a thing to any woman let a long his pregnant wife, hoorible, and then do this ??!!!??? much respect to her !!!Regards ;-)
@Choefoe in her autobiography she said she don't remember what happened until she woke up in the hospital. she didnt say he pushed her she said they was fighting
theres no talent in Hollywood anymore just a bunch of ego centric vanity obsessed whores and sluts

i love this song .....but was shocked when i saw the original lyrics ....which say
Do like the darkies do, list'ning to a preacher way down south
They shake their bodies so, to and fro
With every shake, a lucky break

She's beautiful and talanted, but this was a good example of taking a great song from the 20's and turning it into complete crap.

She did this only a few weeks after falling down the stairs, she had a corset on for the pain. But she wanted to do it . Class act ;-)
