You still need to manually add your customers to the 2nd autoresponder though, or ask them to opt into your 2nd autoresponder... is that correct?

Yes ... you would either add them manually or they would subscribe themselves.

My approach is to ask them to subscribe to my training messages after they become a customer. The training messages teach them how to use the tools, how to make money with the affiliate plan, etc...

When they subscribe to the training messages, they are automatically removed from the prospect list.

Makes is a "hands off" deal for me.
