Most of red shirt protesters are farmers. They need natural resourse in order to have a healthy farming. A resourse such as land and water. Thai's prime minister is not doing anything for people just for himself. Government shouldn't be selling lands and thai's national treasure.

It is natural that you would identify with those of your own class in Thailand. But had your parents died and left you nothing you might have more sympathy for the poor. Taksin apparently won a democratic election with over about 60%. He did something for the poor i.e health care. The UK does OK with its monarchy, why would Taksin risk a charge of treason by being anti-monarchist?

I believe that everything must be done for the poors concerning food, dress, school for their children and a basic social health. I hope that Abbisit will maintain the 20 B. cares. But everybody cannot become member of the middle class and car, mobile phone, laptop, big TV screen are not civil rights for them. I disagree, in no way were these protests peaceful and done according to the law. These protesters set fire to a number of buses, broke in and stole from food stalls, too over buses, shot at innocent civilians, and so on. The reason why the locals were fighting back at the red shirts was because they were trying to set fires at various neighborhoods and buildings. People were just protecting their homes and their neighborhoods from not peaceful protests, but anarchy.

I have always been a monarchist and I disagree about the French Revolution. I have an income to travel abroad because my family has performed a social ascent in several generations allowing me to be a member of the "executive" class. But this type of ascent was absolutly possible under the royal regime. Don't believe the progressist propaganda !

I'm a foreigner who disagrees with the actions of the reds (disrupting the ASEAN summit, attacking the PM's vehicle, using the Monarchs name in vain, etc.). There seems to be a great divide in the ideas of the people of this nation. As a non-Thai who frequently visits Bangkok, my main source of information is from all the international news channels.
I would suggest those who disagree with the 'red shirts' to PEACEFULLY PROTEST by NOT USING TAXI SERVICE unless they can prove to not be red.
