@mip8de8moer This is not a firmware problem if USB mode is usable. Doublechec the IP address and configure / deactivate your firewall.

Type in your PCs name instead of the IP, that's how I got it to work.

Problem solved.

For reference: PSPdisp was run in XP compatibility mode. This disablef the SideShow menu entries.

When I click on enable sideshow, it says sideshow driver not loaded on my PSP. I tried reinstalling and made sure that the sideshow drivers are installed but no luck. I am using USB with Vista and GEND2

When you look into the device manager, is the "PSPdisp SideShow device" shown as working or is there any error message associated with it? Error 10 usually means that you don't have Vista Service Pack 1 installed.

To everyone with USB problems, have patience.

When first plugging the PSP using USB mode in, Windows has to install the driver. It may take 30 seconds or more for Windows to show any sign that it indeed does so, then another minute to finish the installation.

During that don't unplug the PSP, as this resets the whole process.

Going into "Power save mode" is always because no data is transmitted, it is in itself not an error. Just a sign that the driver is not yet installed.

If I want to use the PSP as an additional display then I have to enable "Enable display". But the documentation says that I need to install the PSPdisp display driver to do that. The setup however warns me that I must not install the driver on Windows 7. So this option is not available on Windows 7?

Correct. The required display driver does only work on 2000 and XP.

You might be able to get an additional display by using a VGA dummy plug. See the FAQ section of the help file for details.

Unfortunately adhoc connections from a PSP to a PC are not possible when the PSP uses infrastructure mode (like in PSPdisp).

You can connect in PSP Adhoc mode, but data transmission is not possible because the protocol is unknown and encryption is applied.

This is possible if you configure port forwarding from your router to your PC. Then connect to the remote network and enter the external IP address of your router.

The frame rate will most likely be very bad though and you might be better off using PSPVNC.

In theory this would be possible. But for remote control over the internet I would rather use PSPVNC.

You connect to an access point. This is usually your Wlan router at home, the same that is used for your PC.

It is also possible to use a different access point and connect through the internet to your router. For this you have to enter the global IP of your router (dsl-modem) and set up port forwarding to your PC.

well the unofficial way to end it is to rip out the battery.

The official way is to press the HOME button. This will make the display come back again.

But the actual problem is seemingly that the usb connection gets interrupted. From what you wrote I cannot say why though.

Except for the extended desktop everything should work. Deactivate the driver signature check to use the USB mode, WLAN mode is usable out of the box.

Can't get this to work, I followed the guide exactly. I run it on my psp it says "waiting..." and then it finishes and says its going into power saving mode in 10 seconds and it never comes back out. I have to restart the psp to close the app. Even unplugging the usb doesn't exit it. Just sticks at a black screen in power save mode.

On Windows XP you can use the included display driver. For Vista/7, it is possible to mirror any existing screens to the PSP. Therefore you can use a VGA dummy plug on your graphics card, which will then report another monitor to Windows. There is a description for doing that in the help file (FAQ section).

You can map a button to a key combination like ALT+V, this is detailed in the help file. Basically you concatenate the scancodes with a '+'. Mapping different keys to one button is not yet possible.

As far as I know the PSP only supports Adhoc networks for gamesharing between PSPs. Therefore a direct connection with a PC is not possible (at least not with considerable effort).

I can't use the USB or wifi on my 64-bit Vista. I have the "test mode" thing on to let me install unsigned drivers, I removed all of my firewalls, and I have all the settings set up right.

"Test mode" by itself does only allow test-signed drivers, so you would have to sign the usb driver yourself.

I recommend disabling the driver signature check by pressign F8 on startup and choosing the respective menu entry in the Vista boot menu.

WLAN mode doesn't rely on any driver so it should work regardless.

Hum, on here your wireless connection is very stable. In v0.3 mine loses connection frequently. The wireless light on the psp stays solid green and several frames get dropped. I have tried several different settings as well as put my PSP right next to my wireless router with 100% signal and nothing helps =(

Usb mode works fine so i dont think its on my computers side.
