well as for as Benchmade and Spyderco and Emerson - None have taken up Lynn Thompson on his knife challenge nor have they attempted the test performed on cold steel knives - So it makes you wonder - there is a YouTuber who test knives he tested a $300. Strider then tested a $35.00 cold steel G.I. Tanto the Cold steel performed much better for a 9th of the so go figure .
@martinaee You're a retard. By your same logic a pump shotgun wouldn't be a good self defense weapon because you can't take it everywhere you go. Oh, and don't worry cupcake, taking a shit with a machete wouldn't be a problem for a real man.
@martinaee Oh, I see. So you're just another ignorant troll that makes comments on shit he has absolutely no experience with. By all means, continue wallowing in the mud.
@M3RJ LOL I didn't say anything bad about their actual products now did I...... I just have a problem with their marketing which I find to be cheesy and arrogant at the same time. Lynn Thompson has basically stated in the past that no other knife manufacturer's products are as good as theirs which is utter bs. Benchmade and Spyderco have ridiculously high quality knives. You don't have to agree with me.
god this is soooo lame! why the fuck would u use a machete for combat! they arent meant for that! they are utilitarian blades.. if u grind them to be a combat blade it only impedes on the utilitarian functions of the design..... i find this ridiculous.
@KonstantinKuehn Maybe where you are from, but it in other places *cough*caribe*cough* they are seen as a combat weapon.Or as they call it an all purpose tool.
I love how Lynn shows that we bigger guys can move! He has coordination, balance, and quickness. People are often surprised on my speed when I attack them with a "blade".
@loki1066 --I've been attacked with a blade twice, 1st time over 20 years ago, an attempted mugging,(I guess) radical dislocation of the elbow on his second slash at my eyes , and about 5 years ago, a guy with huge chip on his shoulder, small and quick, disarmed, and smashed nose. I started wrestling at age 8, played fullback and strong-side defensive end in football, and studied martial arts for years, so I'm not slow by anyone's definition!
@loki1066 --Sorry, I guess I wasn't too clear from the beginning, In my style of martial arts, we are trained from the very beginning to defend a knife attack, which is, as you know, one of the most common weapons one would encounter on the street, so not only do you learn to defend, you learn to attack with a blade, and when someone new would get on the mat with me, thinking I might be slow, they encounter a very quick attack which usually pushes their "OH SH*T", button! lol!
@loki1066--The first time my Sensei attacked me with a rubber knife, I went, "OH SHIT", and everybody laughed! He had been a Force Recon Marine, and he was SO frickin' fast it scared me! lol! I've never seen anyone that quick since!
We train with the thick blunt metal blunt blades from the starting point of being unarmed and being attacked , ' minimising' the the amount of injuries we receive grabbing the arm where it's moving slowest, near the shoulder, and follow it down to the knife hand, then hopefully breaking the knife arm. I'm not so happy about this as you WILL get cut. My choice would be to fight fire with fire , but we live in the UK and just carrying a folding knife that locks will get you jailed
@loki1066 -- Been attacked a few times with blades, never cut! it is possible to avoid it, it's all in the timing and technique, as my Sensei would put it, allow the knife to cut the buttons off, then he's yours. Hard to stand still till the last possible moment, but the pay-off is complete surprise.
@GetitUnderCool England????? I dont know about length in england but for sure it must be ilegal, what do you expect from a pro-communist country where the citizen allow the gobernment to take their guns away?????

That would give you the delusion that you were quick.

You said, and I quote " People are often surprised on my speed when I ATTACK them with a "blade"."
What you MEANT , if I'm correct , is People are often surprised by my speed when I'm attacked and DEFEND MYSELF with a "blade".
Now that's more impressive. What YOU said in the first place made you sound like the initial aggressor.
