The longer you go without a trim, the worse your split ends will get. If you let them go, they'll split up, higher and higher, making it worse. if you gott a regular trim, your hair wouldnt get the chance to split and go up the shaft.
Your hair looks like you did a power-grow and it looks sparse and straggly. It needs at least 3" cut off. My hair was 25" long (not too long, but healthy) and I cut 3" off and it looks great. So will yours. It is ridiculous when people get attached to their hair the way you and thousands of other women are. Don't worry, in six months it will be the length it is now.

If you want long hair the first thing you need to do is cut off all the dead ends. Then trim it regularly. A lot of women take prenatal vitamins to help their hair and nails grow.
Hey there - I'm a long hair lover too but i think long hair only looks good if it's healthy. I would say for you not to cut your own hair anymore at this point and go to a hairdresser to get a trim or cut. Your hair looks very fine at the ends like it's been damaged somehow. It looks like it would need a good 2 - 4 inches to really thicken up. Once cut you could resume growing long but just watch that it doesn't become thin again with trims every couple months. Just my opinion.
Don't use a blow dryer on your hair either. That will dry it out after prolonged use. Curly hair can be very beautiful, you know?! We all have to accept what God gave us. What I do is use my finger tips only to "comb" through my hair. This gives the best control over getting rid of knots while causing minimal damage to my hair. Also I suggest using Nature's Path - Jojoba shampoo and conditioner. I am a guy with hair every bit as long as yours and single ;) My hair is wavy as well.
Thanks for the tips. I can't help using a blow dryer, because it takes forever for my hair to dry since it is so thick and I am impatient! I do wear it curly too I just prefer it straight because its a lot more manageable.
Do you straighten your hair? If so, this may be the reason for your split ends problem. Hair doesn't react well to tension. It needs to be treated delicately in grooming. I love long hair too.
Im glad you only cut off just a few inches because you should let a professional blunt cut it. You should not cut it off if u r a long haired type of person. You could stand to lose another 3 inches off your length in just a very blunt cut to make your ends feel thick. Dont bother cutting your bangs or any face framing that your hairstylist might suggest.You have shorter bangs that you should let catch up to the rest of your hair.

Don't use a blow dryer on your hair either. That will dry it out after prolonged use. Curly hair can be very beautiful, you know?! We all have to accept what God gave us. What I do is use my finger tips only to "comb" through my hair. This gives the best control over getting rid of knots while causing minimal damage to my hair. Also I suggest using Nature's Path - Jojoba shampoo and conditioner. I am a guy with hair every bit as long as yours and single ;) My hair is wavy as well.

Thanks for the tips. I can't help using a blow dryer, because it takes forever for my hair to dry since it is so thick and I am impatient! I do wear it curly too I just prefer it straight because its a lot more manageable.

Do you straighten your hair? If so, this may be the reason for your split ends problem. Hair doesn't react well to tension. It needs to be treated delicately in grooming. I love long hair too.

Yeah I do and its killing my hair. It doesn't help much using a blow dryer either. My hair is naturally curly.

I think you would look incredibly sexy with shorter hair but definiteky get a professional to cut it for you.

Im glad you only cut off just a few inches because you should let a professional blunt cut it. You should not cut it off if u r a long haired type of person. You could stand to lose another 3 inches off your length in just a very blunt cut to make your ends feel thick. Dont bother cutting your bangs or any face framing that your hairstylist might suggest.You have shorter bangs that you should let catch up to the rest of your hair.

Lol...I actually cut like 2 or more inches off! It's funny how I can be so attached to my hair! You should've seen how long the video was before I edited it!
