love this song, brings back memories of my auntie's place in kati kati when i was about 12 or 13, i had this little transistor radio that i hid under my pillow and i used to lie awake listening to all this great music that just was'nt ever played during the day, how times have changed
this song just puts a big smile on my face and puts me in a great mood really quickly. i think its the como great singing and acoustic guitars . the alphabet at the end is cheesy though
This LP was my introduction Uriah Heep when it was brand new. I was lucky to get to see them with Blue Oyster Cult in 1974. I love this LP and Demons and Wizards the best. Sad about Byron. You know on the other side there is one hell of a music scene.
Thanks for uploading the song! it's good for reference, and loads damn fast... one of the best songs by uriah heep, its a shame not all their songs are as good as this one...
Nope santy, this is David Byron. He would be on three more Heep albums after this before John took over (Wonderworld, Return to Fantasy & High & Mighty).
thank you so much 4 posting this song Ooo89,i love the complete album so much,it was a so so special weekend with my girl-friend 1973,alone on a wild sea with very high mountains around on lsd-trip with many batterys for casette-tape and Sweet Freedom Album all-time,i wait very long 4 this posting,i wish you all the best,& always good time !
@girpo What's the point? What's the point??!! It's a fun, happy song about falling in love! And a great example of how to put that kind of feeling into the music itself. (Just listen to Ken's solos - fingers on keys making you feel like you are walking on air!)
who sang lead on this song, was it David Byron or Ken Hensley?

As a 14-year old American this is where I learned that the last letter of the alphabet was "zed" and not "zee" for many anglophones.

@ZubudMan W,X, Y Zed. I never knew until the past few years that Brits say Zed for Zee.

I have never understood why they end this song with the alphabet.

Looks like someone didn't appreciate what you meant, SpringisBACK. You want to give it more than 5, since its such a great tune, correct? : )
IwshIcldstrtover 2 years ago 2
IwshIcldstrtover: You got it right! "7 Stars" deserves a "7 stars" rating! (So, I just gave it another 5 in adition to the 1st 5 I gave it - hahaha.)

@SpringIsBACK You are obviously tone deaf with no taste in Rock!!

You like the whole album too? Thought I was the only one. What's your favorite song from the album? Mines "Pilgrim".

Sweet Freedom is also my all time favorite Heep album, it was the album that got me into Heep.
