@alyspally well that's not so bad....but my rabbit is lucky enough to have free roam of the whole house and back garden as he is a litter trained house rabbit. He is so easy to look after and i recommend this to all rabbit owners. He is always binkying all round the garden and house...its so funny and he is definitely very happy :)

@jumper5971 My rabbit is also litter trained, having free run of both the house and garden. This hutch acts as his bed which he sleeps in or goes into if he wants to be alone. He is certainly very happy too!

how do you litter train a rabbit

@clearscopes Best to do it when you first get the rabbit.

You will need a plastic easy to clean container. For best results you want it to be 20cm deep 35cm wide and 50 cm long APPROXIMATELY of course.

ANtibacterial fluid to clean tray easch time the liter is changed.

Rabbits naturally have a toilet space away from there sleeping/living area.

-Teach the rabbit on an easy to clean surface such as the bathroom or kitchen (we used kitchen floor as it is tiled)

-Keep the rabbit in this room unitill he she has learnt

-put a hay rack or something that can be eaton near the liter tray so the rabbit has to go in the tray to eat it. (THis is just encoragement as rabbit like to multitask ;-) )

-Use a standard cat litter (usaully special compacted wood chippings formed into pellets.) Put about half full in the litter tray. You want the tray to have tall sides or there will be mess. (But also relative to the rabbits size- IMPORTANT)

make sure that you also pick up any poo and put it in the litter tray, this is very important and the rabbit will soon understand and will eventually use the litter tray every time (I have NEVER EVER had a problem with my rabbit not doing it in the tray) Also dont move the tray about much and if you do make sure the rabbit knows where it is.
