i saw this show in Menorca durin the summer it was amazing! Son Martorellet is a great show and place

These horses are cared for alot , probally more cared for than the actualy people, they take pride in their horses.

The horses are trained in a natural way, If u went behind the scenes u would c tht like i did. if the horses dont want 2 do something it's not forced to do it , they are put in the field and are rested then they try again the next day, the horses aren't scared,

I have seen these horses in person before, and they all seem in good health. If they were not they would have dull coats and eyes. And i agree with horsequeen about double bits.

I am sure these horses are well taken care of. If a horse is not wanted, they can be put to sleep humanely by a vet, and used for vetinarian research.. LARRY CRAIG has a hold on S 311 Horse Protection Act, so they can continue to slaughter in Mex, so barbaricly,,for big business, horsemeat

wow!! I saw those horses when I went to menorca. Those horses, I know for fact, they are treated brilliantly, their coats are shiny and they're healthy. the people take great care of them.

I agree that is like saying because weed is outlawed none comes into the US its ridiculus. And to think it is pure ignorance. I have to say, what happens to all the hroses no one wants? Do you even know. I can PROMISE you that there isn't a cute little graveyard where there buried. And once you stop the slaughter do you really know how many horses with starve to death??

Yeah I have witnessed it. And your another 14yr old bleeding heart that has YET to see what horses really go through. Whats been your motivation pictures of a few slaughter horses online and a rescue you might have? Wake up to the real world. Horse cruelty has JUMPED! Horses are starving to death. being burned alive, drowned, ridden till they drop, and more I could tell you stories that would make slaughter seem like heaven.

It appears these horses have very sever bits, double reins and all, and are yanked up to rear

I don't see them yanking on the mouth of theses horse all I see them doing is leanign back and picking there hands up to get them to rear and a double rein bit is only sever with someone who dosen't know how to use one. I ride my horse in a Pelham and he's fine

PLEASE WRITE TO YOUR Federal SENATORS TO PASS THE HORSE PROTECTION ACT THAT NEEDS TO PASS TO PREVENT SLAUGHTER OF THESE ANIMALS for HUMAN CONSUMPTION. THEY GIVE SO MUCH, IT HAS PASSED THE HOUSE, AND NEEDS TO BE BROUGHT UP AND PASSED IN THE SENATE, bills S-1915 AND S-311, and horses INHUMANELY transported to Canada and Mexico for Slaughter needs to be stopped

Oh yes. Pass the bill so that horses can be shipped out of the US without any sort of regulations to control how they're slaughtered. Brilliant! So now they're all going to Mexico where they just hack away at their throats and allow them to bleed to death slowly. I hope all the dewey-eyed bunny lickers are pleased with themselves now. :(

You don't get it, the bill would stop the transport to Canada and Mexico,,and export to Europe for meat,,,NOW they are transporting them, as the Horse Protection Act Has not been passed, it is held up in comittee in the Senate It would STOP the inhumane slaugter and transport to a very large degree.

ahah you have no idea what you're saying, the bill would not stop horses being shipped elsewhere and if it is passed, people are just gonna neglect there horses and they will now die from abuse instead of slaughter. so if you want that to happen, support the bill. the bill should be changed to stop the inhumane methods of sluaghter, not stop slaughter itself, because horses dont deserve to be treated so poorly

@jmhaze2006 I'm assuming you eat meat? Horses feel just as much fear and pain as any other animal. Preventing horse slaughter is as unlikely as cow, pig or lamb slaughter. I dont agree with it - but then i dont eat meat. I've seen horses suffer FAR worse than slaughter. And sadly, there's nothing we can do about that on a large scale either.

Hi ive been to this show and it is fantastic these horses a looked after more than the men riders wives because they have pride in them SERIOUSLY my THOMSON rep told me on the way there. I have my own and she also likes to do that NOT as big lol but she is brilliant!!!!

do u actually know how they get the horses to do this? the way they train them is if the horse doesnt want to learn or thaey are slow the trainers whip them until they do the trick wether they want to or not.

No, these animals are responding the hand and leg aids given by the rider. They are trained to do this and obviously do it willingly. These animals live better than most humans do.

i guess its natural when horses raise so far up in the air. its uncomfortable to them.when the horse bobs his head up and down it means hes frustrated. these horses are agitated. the preformances are painful to them.

Sorry, but you are wrong. Research Lusitano, Andalusian horse breeds and you will learn that these movements were actually used in ancient battles. These horses could scare the devil out of the enemy. They have other moves as well that are pretty lethal to the enemy. This is all training. The horses are responding to a snaffle bit and the rider's sensitive hands and legs. Basic dressage movements. Research and learn. Appreciate your compassion but these horses are in great shape.

All those movements are natural to a horse.

The Lippizan Stallions perform these moves, and every move is done naturally without force.

I somehow doubt such training methods would still be in use today, and under such scrutiny if they used excessive force.
