  • This is the best song ever to listen to before rolling a liquor store.

  • the who were ahead of there time

  • Roger looks like a hard-boiled egg.

  • for some reason i just watched a samantha fox clip, but then i watched this and sanity returned :)

  • i remember when they showed this on tv's bloopers and pratical jokes!!!

  • It's so easy to see where The Jam got their inspiration from

  • This song is a perfect example of the era when Rock & Roll was meaningful

  • love how they're playing perfectly in sync with the music, plus Roger looks like he wants to punch the cameraman

  • The video is chopped to hell. I used to own this video & the screen was larger, thus one could see Pete thrusting at his guitar, and the look on Entwistle's face after they panned his crotch. I had hoped to find the same video on YT with the girls going by in a little boat as well. Stupid Vevo. >:I

  • @kieetnfuud try getting the version of "Whos Better WHo's Best" on VHS or DVD and see where that takes you

  • @kieetnfuud accually this one comes from the comp videos i named

  • The Difference between both bands is Ring never played double Bass...

  • i honestly despise the beatles and i honestly dont want the who to be compared to them

  • I made a 'Who' table cloth - its the best thing I've ever made. Happy Birthday Keith you're still missed after all these years.

  • This has to be the worst video to a great song ever!

  • @AndresUppsala1 ehhh times like these by foo fighters is just as bad

  • "Who the hell holds their drum sticks like that, Keith? If you want to learn how to play drums, you have to hold them this way!" - Keith's drum teacher

    "Yeah, roight?" -Keith

  • @GPWS339 Psh, shows how much you know, Keith only took a handful of drum lessons from a local boy until the guy refused to give him lessons because of how hard he hit and how crazy and unteachable he was :P

(I intend this as a lighthearted joke between Who fans)

  • @MrHeitz17 You don't need to explain yourself to the true 'orrible oo" fans out there, and I appreciate the history lesson. Keith was definitely one of a kind! If you valued your drum kit you did not want Keith within a mile of it!!

You are definitely a student of the GREATEST BAND of ALL-TIME!! Any and all WHO related anecdotes are welcome. Keep the faith brother!

  • 38 kids aint alright.

  • @hardtoesxplain /watch?v=VrZ4sMRYimw&feature=relmfu they really aren't all right

  • I think it's important to note that Roger risked arrest being out-of-doors in shirtsleeves in 1966 London.

  • the who is better than the beatles

  • @REIworker More like "WHO is better than The Beatles?" haha

  • oops forgot to add WAS between i and staggered.

  • always loved this song by the oo but i staggered to hear it only reached numer41 when it was released in 66, what the hell were people listening to not to buy this!.

  • john entwistle is the man

  • the who and pink floyd are better than the beatles

  • @ronan32 In your opinion, but your opinion is wrong!

  • thumbs up if you love when Pete makes the Windmill !!!

  • amazing how keith can play the drums through the air

  • @AnAmericanSkylineNY You're right! I saw them several times in the early days and was intrigued at the way the sound coming from the drums seemed to bear no relation to what KM was doing! I gave him the benefit of the doubt, though. But I still regard the Who as a bunch of posers :-)

  • @AnAmericanSkylineNY You're right! I know this is just a mimed video, obviously, but I saw them several times in the early days and was intrigued at the way the sound coming from the drums seemed to bear no relation to what KM was doing! I gave him the benefit of the doubt, though. But I still regard the Who as a bunch of posers :-)

  • @TheValdoe at least the guitars are plugged in though.....

  • -coughscopiedthebeatlescoughs-

  • 38 kids aint alright

  • this has got to be the most real and genuine pop rock tune in all of hist and played by the most honestly talented young men, its so refreshing to see what real rock icons did ,, just magnificent

  • Brilliant!!!

  • i like the viedo just stick them in a park lol

  • guitar porn ; )

  • The Who, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones. The Trinity of British Rock!!

  • I fucking love The Beatles, been obsessed with them since I was a little kid. I have every album, vinyl and CD, the Remastered in both Mono and Stereo, and posters of them plaster at least a quarter of my house.

I, however, fucking worship The Who, and the other three-quarters is devoted to them.

Mr. Peter Dennis Blandford Townshend, Mr. John Alec Entwistle: You are and were fucking deities amongst mere men.

  • @smitty01209

You forgot Mr. Roger Harry Daltrey and Mr. Keith John Moon!

  • @LOLlhuntsman No i did not.

  • I know now where Justin Bieber got his look

  • @karenyvaleria YOU TAKE THAT BACK. XD

  • @karenyvaleria troll. this is called a mod look. his look is, is, uh, the annoying shitty pop star look.

  • i hate when i put "The kids are alright"(this happen with any other music videos) at the searcher and a video from VeVo is the first. There was a time when music videos was uploaded by users and not by VeVo. we have to do is find the videos uploaded by us. Users vs Vevo. We cant lose this battle. Users vs Vevo

  • @Aeroboysmith We basically need a new Youtube because this one is a fucked up advertising flooded, censored/copyright nazi piece of crap and is getting worse the longer Google owns it.

  • @Aeroboysmith Youtube is no longer really "user-run". It's more "corporate-run" and "13-year-old-girl's-run", hence the number of views ridiculously simple pop musicians receive (i.e. the most viewed video on youtube...). Us users lost the second Youtube was sold to google.

  • @corncornrocks

    Amen brother

  • @Aeroboysmith You are an idiot. Just because VeVo has advertisments in the background, you're still getting free music. Yes I agree they shouldn't push advertisments of dispensible pop stars in our faces BUT the video and audio is excellent quality. Its not VeVo vs User what the hell can you do? Complain about the fact that they are letting watch you great music for free? There is NO battle, Vevo has the rights to upload these songs and in many cases users don't. Just enjoy the music!!!

  • @Aeroboysmith whats the difference? The only thing is, that videos uploaded by vevo are of great quality and better organized

  • @Aeroboysmith It is likely impossible to not make a user uploaded video over a vevo because they likely pay to be on top

    .

  • @Aeroboysmith Why the fuck does it matter who the hell uploaded the video? Vevo or user at least you can watch it, just shut the fuck up and enjoy the music video.

  • @Aeroboysmith adblocker

  • @Aeroboysmith Who gives a crap.

  • 38 kids aren't alright

  • @SukieMcQueen im not allright either cuz im addicted to this song!

  • @TheRhymeBoy : Well you are alright because those who like the song are alright - the 38 i mentioned disliked it ^^

  • What a bass!!!!

  • What's important here, and should be observed, is the funk bass which rates right up with James Jamerson. It doesn't get any better than that.

  • June 6th 1971 Berkeley Community Theater. Top 3 shows of my life. They were amazing!!!

  • I like this better than my generation

  • Entwistle played Chess?

  • @PembrokeRoadN15 : I think Townshend made a record and movie about you... called Quadrophenia. About wanting to be part of something, afraid to an individual. And the cowardice of giving up your identity to be part of a group. Good description right here. Could be 'Jimmy' talking. By the way, the Who were Mods for about one year and Townshend often stated that they really only played at it, it was a handy movement to latch onto.

  • This is quite extended from the usual 45 single version - the second middle part (actually an instrumental 'break'). Is this the album version?

  • Sad to hear people worry about the Who vs. Beatles, or Ringo vs Moon. Ringo was the best drummer for the Beatles, few drummers would have had the taste and sensitivity to not overplay and to let the perfectly-written songs come through. And keep a rock-solid beat, always. Moon was the best drummer for the Who, a totally different style. They wouldn't have worked in each others bands. Each band would have been diminshed. BTW, waddya think these 2 best friends would have said about this debate?

  • Can people please stop saying the who are better than the beatles! There both really good bands and both have millions of fans around the world!

  • The Who are not comparible to The Beattles. The Beattles sucked. They wrote pot head music trippy music. The only good Beattles song was Come Together. The Who actually wrote good songs and lasted well into the 80s.

  • @TheSonofhermes So you like The Who better than The Beatles....big deal! But no. 1, The Beatles did not suck. No. 2, they didn't just write pot head music. And no. 3, "Come Together" is one of their most overrated songs! And this coming from someone who has been a diehard Beatles fan for 30 years!

  • @MattHatter >Go see Who vid after hearing song on the Deep End

    >funny comment about keith moon

    >see that everyone is actually arguing the Who vs. the Beatles

    >check the date

    >it's actually 1969.

    >I'm in heaven

    >pass the sugarcubes bro

  • @MattHatter Come Together is AMAZING -.-'

  • @TheRhymeBoy With the right mix it's amazing. I've always thought the song should sound HEAVIER. Actually it sounds really good on both the "Love" CD and on the new remastered "Abbey Road."

  • Stop comparing The Who to The Beatles! The only thing they have in common is that they're both from England and they're both amazing bands. And I don't care about your opinion on wich one is better.

  • @rocknrollforever10 Man, there isn't a "best" or "better" band. People like different kinds of music. The Who forged their own ground with "hard rock" and The Beatles forged their own ground with "pop". People who think The Who's better are just fans of hard rock, and fans of The Beatles are fans of 60's pop.

  • @MusicMightDie What about people who love both The Who and The Beatles? ;)

  • @rocknrollforever10 Thats the whole idea of comparing seeing the differences between two different sets of things. JEEZE

  • @rocknrollforever10 besides they were good friends ringo and keith were compadres ;)

  • @Mahuano001 Yeah, and The Who even made a reference to The Beatles in The Seeker :)

  • @rocknrollforever10

The Who sounded nothing like the Beatles man.....

  • @rocknrollforever10 I agree, but the who is better.

  • @rocknrollforever10

They also both made use of Rickenbacker 12 strings, tho George did it before Pete did.

  • @rocknrollforever10 i couldnt agree more. Bands like The Who, The beatles. the rolling stones, the kinks and the small faces are all great bands and legends on their own and dont need comparisson with eachother

  • @statusphonics the jam

  • @deviate1966 a complete mistake on behalf there leaving The Jam out i was just using some as examples if you get me?

  • @rocknrollforever10 Actually this song is kind of beatlesy.. Not saying they are the same, because they are different by far, but this song specifically is. Kind of like how Helter Skelter is sort of Who-y if that makes sense.

  • @Friendpersonkid Helter Skelter sounding The Who-ish totally makes sense, especially if you consider that Paul McCartney was inspired to write that song by what Pete Townshend said in a 1967 interview, where he described "I Can See for Miles" as the loudest, rawest, dirtiest song the Who had ever recorded. Paul wanted to make Helter Skelter "heavier" than anything else that was out at that time.

  • @rocknrollforever10

The Who sounds nothing like The Beatles... haha...

  • @rocknrollforever10 as John said The Beatles are a much better studio band while The Who kick their asses live howerver both are great bands both ways

  • @rocknrollforever10 the beatles are shit the who ROCK!

  • the who are better than the beatles, beatles are over rated :D

  • This is a really wonderful little clip, it's a great reminder of a time that once was, a usual day (well maybe not entirely) in Hyde Park in 1966; their refusal even to try playing along with the music is annoying and delightful at the same time (as always in their lip-sync performances of the time :-), and an extra bonus is that the camera man paid unusually much attention to John. Long time ago and half of them gone but you still can hardly beat this.

  • I find it so funny that the lesbian movie of the same name does not feature this song any point

  • Wait. Where is this Hyde Park? I'm from Chicago, and we have a Hyde Park, is it this one?

  • @chiotime88 Yep :D

  • @chiotime88 no. im also from chicago, but theres a hyde park in britain, too. and since the who is from britain, it would make more sense to film it there

  • Maybe we should focus more on Rogers hair than the beatles.

  • very beatley

  • Keith Moon cracks me up. 1:29 you can see him really taking the shoot seriously(shut up. Of course I'm joking). I watch this and me makes me laugh everytime.

  • It sounds just a little like the Beatles, I didn't mean to make a huge debate about it. Keith Moon was definitely a better drummer than Ringo, but my point was that in a way, the harmony sounded a little like Lennon in the early days. Enough said.

  • 38 people are complete losers (those who gave it a thumbs down)

  • I like this song a lot... even on their pop songs, the who display that hard edge that distinguishes them from Beatles or even stones (Kinks had that hard edge too)

  • I think this clip was actually filmed for an American TV series, "Where The Action Is', which aired from 1965 until 1967.

On it, rock and pop stars "performed" songs in outdoor locations.

Perhaps for some reason The Who couldn't come to/be in the 'States to be on the show, so they were filmed "doing" this song in London.

  • The Who are more than a bad. They are like a friend, a kindly grandfather or even a lifestyle. What a band!

  • There was wireless guitar at 1960's? xD

  • @Axelrckr

    Only in music videos ;)

  • kieth moon the loon was the best and still is. rest in ☮ kieth. ❥♬

  • thumbs up if pamela anderson sent u here xD

  • Love the Union Jack shirt the drummer is wearing!!!

  • @stafylides kieth moon...

  • lol daltreys hair to me reminds me of fred from scooby doo

  • Roger Daltrey's best hairdo! This song should have been a bigger hit; it's great..

  • This song uses the exactly melody as the Beatles "All My Loving". Of course this song is influenced by the Beatles it just rocks more than the Beatles. The 12 string jangly guitar sound, very melodic, stacked harmonies and driving sound was the signature sound of "A Hard Day's Night from 1964. I love the Who but Pete got this guitar because the Beatles had this guitar and Pete admits.

  • BETTER THAN THE BEATLES!!! but i still love the beatles, cause theyre my 2nd fav band

  • So great

  • Here Comes a guy dressed up like a Union Jack...The Rolling Stones might have been talking about Keith Moon. Thanks for posting.

  • PLEASE HELP YOUTUBE: WHERE CAN I BUY A UNION JACK SHIRT LIKE KEITH MOONS? and it has to be long sleeves just like his! please help guys/girls : )

  • *dies of happines*

  • This seems freakishly restrained for The Who. They don't do any sort of jumping around, stay in one spot, and Pete's guitar is intact at the end.

  • Sorry for Ringo

But Keith Moon is the Best

  • @NKL77 Ringo would admit that Moonie was a better drummer; don't forget Zac Starkey learn't how to play from Keith Moon...****ing good job too!

  • When they were standing there for this vid, could they even have imagined playing at Woodstock?

  • i agree. the beatles and the who are very different bands but each are amazing in their own way. i love them both. we should feel lucky that both bands have given us such excellent and timeless music to enjoy. this song, 'the kids are alright,' is a true classic and i love it.

  • I love The Who + The Beatles...I find it annoying that several people here are pitting them against each other.

  • People need to stop comparing Keith Moon with RIngo. Their styles are completely different. It's like c omparing Keith Moon to Charlie Watts. It's about having a distinct unique style that stands out in music history, and Keith, Ringo, and Charlie have their own styles and are influential in their own ways. It's unnecessary to trash other great drummers just to compliment Keith. BTW, Keith Moon and Charlie Watts have said in interviews that their fav drummers is Ringo. So that says it all.

  • Thumbs up if you like The Who

  • Moon contributing at the end of the second instrumental break the greatest rock drum roll ever recorded at that point.

  • dios, completamente los beatles

  • 1:25 was quite a burst of activity, i hope no one got hurt.

  • Bonjour, vous aimez les sixties ? écoutez et podcastez mon émission "le super son des 60's" sur le site de plumfm. You like the 60's ? please, listen and podcast my broadcast "le super son des 60's", connect to "plumfm". Salut et faites gaffe au rock and roll.

  • John beats out Paul

  • I really don't think the drummer is really drumming. The sticks are not even near the drum or cymbals.

  • @georgiegan I don't think any of them are actually playing, they're just miming the song

  • IT doesn't sound like the Beatles. The drums, lead guitar , the bass & Dawltry singing are ace. Better alround. Like the Beetles, but the Who rule.

  • Real Rock n Roll, Moonie and Entwhistle were the best!

  • I LOVE THIS SONG IS SO GOOD

  • The Who and the Beatles had each an indivual style and personality, both are awesome, but don't compare the bands, each were different totally!

  • @cmrutter1

Definitely. The Beatles ended up breaking apart nine years after getting famous. The Who kicked out jams up until 1983.

And even then, Daltrey and Townshend are still together whereas Paul and Ringo are a bit disparate.

  • @challangeduo....disparate?? not a word i've ever heard of?? and to be fair, the rest of your point is pretty shit too....the beatles are THE major influence of music since Elvis. You look at any major band/ artist and I'll think you'll find lennon and the beatles are a little higher up their list than daltery and townshend....

  • Comment removed

  • @challangeduo -I think maybe Paul and Ringo are very close indeed, they are just alot more private so they don't get asked all the time about making appearances all the time (in my opinion).

  • John could probably do all that with his eyes closed. That, or beat Stephen Hawking at chess simultaneously o.O

  • @12pokechamp not or its and

  • Comment removed

  • the best of the best of the sixties , prior to the sicksties

  • Yeah to me this sounds like early The Who, they had their own unique sound. I can't say this could be a Beatles song.

  • It doesn't sound like the Beatles. The drums are better.

  • @Taki2007 Saying the drums are better than the Beatles is not saying much :p

  • @Taki2007 Yeah, Keith beats out Ringo

  • @Taki2007 Um...Listen to songs like She Said She Said, Tommorow Never Knows, Rain, Strawberry Fields Forever, I Me Mine, Come Together, A Day In The Life, Ticket To Ride, I Feel Fine, etc. Ringo was a fantastic drummer.

  • @Xmenfan246 I have. I've been drumming for less than 2 years and can play those. Sure it takes a special kind of talent to actually write those drum parts, but when compared to Keith, they're nothing special.

  • @Taki2007 I see what you you mean, nice ear. Keith was a much better drummer than Ringo. But any referenced to the Beatles would be the guitar, a Rickenbacker, which is the same as John Lennons guitar. Im not sure its the same model tho.

  • @Taki2007 Plus the beatles suck

  • @Taki2007

The Who are way better than the Beatles

  • @maxhiner699 There is no comparison they are both awesome bands

  • @Taki2007 Well regardless, the Beatles were a big inspiration at that time.

  • @Taki2007 I'm a huge beatles fan, but i also love the who... and it's 100% true!! We can not compare Ringo with Mooney!!!

  • @Taki2007 Ironic, now Ringos son plays the drums for The Who

  • Doesn't sound a whole lot like the beatles, just kinda...but you can deffinatley tell it's not the beatles.

  • Roger is soooooooooooooooooo cute here

  • top british band

  • Are the 36 people not alright?

  • love it the way that john looks practically bored stiff when hes playing

  • Is this great, or what? You go to the park and The Who are playing!

John on bass is absolutely terrific. No one was ever better on drums than Keith and you get the Pete windmill!

Nobody did it better than The Who!

  • @Steve915 I love The Who; and The Ramones did it well too.
