A narcissist will protect at any cost an imaginary 'separate self' that's alien from the rest of the universe. To them, other people don't truly exist as autonomous, but as disposable pawns to support their own masturbatory fantasies. Psychologically, a very primitive and un-evolved state, one which is totally lacking in relatedness. Self-serving illogic allows them to justify, even in the name of God, transgressing other's boundaries, civil liberties, or another nation's sovereignty.

NARCISISM is a personality disorder since their personalities aren't organized in a way that makes sense to most people. Interaction with narcissists is bewildering - their reasons for what they do are not the same as normal reasons. Trying to reform narcissists by reasoning with them or by appealing to their better nature is about like spitting in the ocean...

What you see is what you get: they have no better nature, they lack empathy.
Narcissists can't be counted on not to do something just because it's wrong, illegal, or will hurt someone, as long as they think that they can get away with it or that you can't stop them or punish them (i.e., they don't care what you think unless they're afraid of you).
Q: How many narcissists does it take to change a light bulb?
A: Just one -- but he has to wait for the whole world to revolve around him.
