  • I love the pr 40

  • I don't know, Schoeps microphones excel at live broadcast work, and NPR uses U87s in there washington studios (as well as many local public radio stations). To me a condenser opens up the voice and allows the talent to comfortably talk as if they normally would when not on air. You simply get a more natural sound out of a condenser. If the room is too dirty, then use a small diaphragm. High sensitivity dynamics (Except for the 421 & 441) lead to this unreal, and compressed american DJ sound.

  • That Bob Heil sure is a lovely enthusiastic fella, good to hear a passionate person talk about good stuff.

That said, I love my Rode Podcaster USB microphone! But it's the only USB mic I've been satisfied with. The rest (Snowball, Samson, MXL) has all been too noisy.

  • Amen on the USB mic, they don't sound as good.

  • i want the gold one that Leo Laporte has... oh baby.

  • Man this stuff is so cool!!! THANKS!
