@cajjer yeah mate, funny enough I remembered it at exactly 3.02 today. We took the boat over from Dublin ( was only 14 then) and watched it from the old E stand. Fuck me, where did 30 uears go? more to the point, where did all me old United scarves and programs go?

@cajjer yeah, in those days we were capable of brilliance one week and shite the next ( 6-0 beat by Ipswich, remember that one?). In a fucked up way it was more interesting than the last 15 years. Not saying I'd like to go back to those painful days mind. But we ran the scousers close that 79-80 season, I was at OT for the 2-1 win over them around Easter, me first time in the Stretford End. Joyous times.

Yeah, that 2-1 in April 1980 is still one of my all time favourites. The 0-6 at Ipswich was a nightmare that could have finished anything-nil. To be thruthful, if the Doc had've stayed, I think we'd have won the league that year.
