  • so who wouldnt want to be king with all the money, women, power, food, luxaries, assassination attempts, plots, poison, jeaousy and the 'OMG some power hungry dude is gonna murder me any day now!' feeling you get from every person around u

  • having a shag to this beat

  • this song is about the king Louis, when people arrived to his palace asking for his head.

  • viva la vida is french i know this because "la" is french for a in english

  • @forgiven21BM It's actually Spanish it means Long Live Life ^_^

  • @forgiven21BM La means "the" in some cases in Italian.

    La means "a" in Spanish

    La means "a" in French

    And many more languages

  • this song is genius in it's lyrics and the story it tells. it is very moving.

  • @sasuke212 you seem to know a lot about Coldplay. It's all cool with me.

  • esta cancion me gusta mucho , pienso que coldplay es una gran banda , espero que algun dia vengan al peru

  • 7 people never ruled the world!

  • I wish i didnt have depression, then i wouldnt cry when i hear this song

  • THIS SONG NEVER GETS OLD!!!!

  • Is "Viva la vida" also french as well as spanish? Cause I know the song is about the French Revolution, Napoleon, or something related to that.

  • @Magma15x viva la vida is a frida kahlo´s painting that coldplay liked

  • Live the Life.

  • Actualy it means glory to life in ITALIAN.

  • living the live, at one point Napoleon Bonaparte did that. this song makes me shiver, and i'm sure that Napoleon would as well

  • because is about love and happyness so yeah Vive La Vida

  • This could apply to anyone who happens to be in power or in charge of something substantial, who loses it all through the ineptness of his advisers (the yes men) and those wishing to see his downfall to take his place. It can happen in an historical or an everyday sense.

  • I've listened to this song very carefully and I'm about 99% certain this is about the French Revoulution.

  • mine is better

  • Feels like this song is about lamenting on growing old. Still dont think Roman Cavalry ever had choirs (wrong time)

  • @muzicforstuff this is about the Roman emporer julius caesar getting slaughtered by his senate.

  • @wolfqueen6 This song is about someone/thing going from Greatness to insignificance. Ceasar never did this, he did not retreat and he didn't fall from power. He was murdered at the height of his carreer by a sentate scared of his growing power ending the republic. This song cant be about Caeser. It would make sense if you said it was about the Roman Empire itself though... (PS Ceaser was not an emperor his adopted son was the first) Anyway this is an amazing song.

  • How do you add music to youtube videos?

  • We have to sing this in chorus, and the first time I heard the name I was like, "What does that song sound like." I swear that I had a mental spazz attack when I heard that it was this song. <3 THIS SONG IS EPIC!

  • i used to woo the whirl

sneeze rice when i gave the word

now in the morning i sleep alone

i used to row the dice

feel the fear in my enemy's ass

    :D

  • @chickenman779 LOL i was cracking up that is funny, lmfao, rofl

  • i always hear this song on my friends phone but i didnt knw who sing neigher did my friends so im glad i found who sigs this

  • it's Actually about the French Revoultion , Note the Album cover has a French flag -_-

  • @xXAwsomeManXx ''Viva la vida'' means ''long live life''. And it's not French..... It's Spanish. And it does not have anything to do with the ''French Revolution" like you said.. It has Christian meanings.... So please don't even try to look smart.

  • this song seems to be about the Romany Cavalry as ekaterin says but for me it's not a complete message it's about lies that make you feel important but then you can be betrayed this happen in real life see u guys

  • In fact the song talks about the passion of Jesus... When he calmed down the seas, when Peter denied him, the people used to follow him but despite that they decided to kill him, the Romany Cavalry came for him... It is great!!!! I really love it, the sense and all... Listen carefully :D

  • @ekaterinc You are absolutely right... Sir i salute you.

  • Some songs title never show up in the song...

    except the title

  • @rihannafan2323 Not all songs contain their titles in their lyrics mate.

  • @rihannafan2323 viva la vida means livin the life

he was livin the life of a king

  • @rihannafan2323 its becouse its france and means something about livin the sweat life... so yeah...

  • @rihannafan2323 Viva La Vida is Spanish. It translates to Live The Life. I don't know why they named it in Spanish, but the title is very fitting because he's singing about how an empire or one man is strong and then it/he falls eventually for reasons sometimes no one can explain. Or maybe he was unpopular and hated or made some wrong decisions. That's basically how "life" goes, that's why it's called Viva La Vida, or Live The Life. It's a very deep song, the first time I heard it it hit me hard.

  • @xxalexisurgodxx okay awesome ! but i did post that comment two years ago , so i know now ...

  • @rihannafan2323 Viva la Vida. It means, 'Long live Life.'

  • @rihannafan2323 Sorry this comment was late, but it's Latin for "long live the sight". Meaning throughout the song he wish he could have seen it all coming.

  • Every time this is on in the car, I flip out, cause I don't know the name of it, thank god I found this!

  • lol

  • @princesstv101 me too!

  • @orochimaruvsitachi. Viva la Vida is Spanish. It's literal meaning is live the life. It is often used in english to say long live such as viva la resistance or long live the resistance. The title of the song by coldplay is derived from a painting by a mexican artist. (the painting is called viva la vida)

  • @prettygurlswaqqaable No, actually that painting is called "Liberty Leading the People," by Delacroix. It's a famous painting expressing the spirit of the French Revolution. Viva la Vida IS Spanish, though. It means "Long Live Life." Since the album this song is from is called "Viva la Vida," you've got to look at the title as going more toward the overarching themes of the whole album. Revolutionary themes. War, death, love . . .

  • this song has such a spirutual feel to it, just the sound of it makes you feel so refreshed and feel good....... idk how to explain it

  • yea!

  • i think the song is talking about death. death used (still) to rule the earth. death is the last to die and saint peter wont call death.

  • viva La Vida=long live life Soooooooooooooooo

    LONG LIVE LIFE

    LONG LIVE LIFE

    LONG LIVE LIFE

  • Comment removed

  • I'm sorry but ..the title doesn't mean what you said: it would be " vivE la vida"..wouldn't it?

    ... however... viva la vida!!!

  • For some time I was always hearing "Roman Catholic choirs are singing"... I think it even makes more sense :P but yeah after reading the lyrics I can hear Cavalry :P

  • the background is not that enteresting you should have put the music video

  • First time i ever heard this song was in the beginning in the first episode of 90210.

I loved the song the first time i heard it.

    xD

  • u dumb asses it spanish for live the life fucken retards

  • i like the song but the video and the cover is not that great

  • i agree

  • el nazio de grammero dise: live THE life.

  • viva la vida means live that life in spanish

  • why is it called viva la vida?

  • live the life in latin

  • latin? its spanish

  • spanish is romance language roman

    it comes from latin

  • maybe it comes from latin.. but its not latin

  • It's called viva la vida because it tells to live life to the fullest.

  • In this case the word viva in spanish can mean something like "long live..."

For example: "Long live king Arthur!" : "Viva el Rey Arturo!"

Viva la vida would be like "Hooray Life!" or "Long live the life!"... its a common way of Cheering we have in spanish.
