Although I do believe Gers is good (not stellar) when he is not playing solo, within Maiden he sounds amateurish, unpolished, and confusing. For the life of me I can't fathom how they replaced the tasteful Smith(whom I tend to diefy, I know) with Janick. Seems like old Gers was more of a good drinking buddy than anything else. Just my 2 cents...Still love Maiden, tho!
