Use to play this when It came out, I was about 7-8 years old. So complicated probably why I couldn't get far at all. Hudson Soft the creators of the game is still alive and kicking. Normally you don't see that after 20 years, usually they disband or are bought out. On the website they have a picture of the building they work in out in California, looks amazing huge fountain too. No jobs available though :(

Skeleton dragon was the furthest I ever made it in this game. Then I died and was too annoyed to ever bother again (I didn't know about the continue cheat at the time).

i mean they were all doing the same thing: hopping back and forth, shooting purple balls accept for the final boss, he just bounced around.

the bosses could have been better, i mean this whole game could have been good if they really worked on it. and also music cause there's only like what 4 tracks? and not to mention there should be a difficulty setting for bigginers

I spent so much time and much frustration on this game when I was younger. I became quite obsessed with this game and remember having some pretty screwed up dreams about it. I remember calling Hudson's help line a number of times to figure out what to do next. Definitely one of the harder games on the NES. I made it to the last room, but never finished it. Glad to see the ending (finally) after 15 some years.

Hah that sucks. Used to had one myself for the nes but it always went down, so in Contra you were always either aiming down or in the typical trench-type position. Still playable somewhat, made some games incredibly difficult. Thank you for this, easier than reading a damn FAQ, and with this game, FAQ writers have a nightmare on their hands, not to mention the readers.

Yeah. If definitely could have used an actual ending.  This ending borders on the Mario "We're sorry but the princess is in another (really big multi-level) castle."

This game was even harder than usual for me... I had a controller that loved to point me to the right when I stopped moving.
