  • so beautiful song!

    sehr gut!

  • She is pretty but the voice not powerful enough for a national anthem!!

  • Unsere schöne Hymne mit schöner Stimme gesungen, perfekt!

  • passion <3 in it... not the best voice in the world!! but <3

  • Poland forwards !!!!!!!!!!

  • what a shame for that girl to sing that lovely anthem with that voice....

  • is this from the 1933 version? this is not current version of the anthem...they got rid of the uver alles verse

  • Heil Hitler!

  • @mansonaty your an idiot!

  • @mansonaty hitler is death

  • @mansonaty

    Mein Gott bist Du doof!!!

  • she sings beautifully

  • Wow, she sang so nicely. Slowly and so very clearly, at least to me. I am curious if any German speaking people could rate her German voice? I only knew a few phrases in German.

  • @kw0s She has a little accent, but not that intense :)

  • champagne ad the and

  • @rusdeutsche ru.wikipedia(точка)org/wiki/Пэн_Американ

  • ahh the media............

  • Heil Hitler!

  • I LOVE THAT WOMAN

  • He should have sang the French anthem at the time of Napoleon afterwords.

  • For all non-germans here:

    "Germany,Germany over all in world

when it always holding together as a union

    brotherslike stand together

from the Maas to the Memel (rivers)

    from Etsch to the Belt

Germany, Germany over all in world..."

Know that: its a text about a country, divided by foreign powers (France,UK,Spain, ect) during centuries.

In romantic 19th century it became a front song of the student movements which wanted all german language areas (songtext "from to..") unify in 1 country as before

  • In this scene, she's singing it as an insult to Germany's national existance in 1963. Her parents died in Buchenwald so she's singing it as a reminder that Germany is evil, to quote.

Deutschland uber alles, uber alles forever, bitches.

  • Her pronounciation is totally off. Luckily the music made it up.

  • @brandenburg2388

    "Her pronunciation is totally off."

It isn't so bad. Clearly she has an accent, but It's nevertheless quite intelligible.

  • @lowenklee I was going to say the same thing. My "strange" little 3.5 year old sings this song better than her, grammatically at least. (Just from listening to the German Versions on You Tube)

  • She is seemingly not german, her accent is extreme.

  • Well.. Woodrow Wilson went over there with his 14 points for peace, but was talked out of it by David Lloyd George, Wilson was easily swayed by others as well, even to becoming a belligerent in WWI. Clemenceau, much like Hitler only cared about revenge. Orlando wanted to steal South Tirol, and he did so. So those egomaniacs that saw themselves as being great were nothing more than great assholes. They set-up the conditions for the perfect storm that would kill 50 million human beings.

  • LOL its not the official anthem.... its the first vers... nobody sings it anymore bocouse its nazi -.-

  • @Oesterreich1leiwand the full anthem with the 3 stanzas actually predates the era of the Third Reich. It has been the national anthem since the 1920s.

  • @brandenburg2388 i know but today everyone thinks thats a nazi song

  • I love this !!!!

  • @THEGAME1917 True, my point is that every country have their dark moment forcing their will upon others. Hate is a vicious cycle, they will never end, it created WW1 and WW2, and it has create many other smaller conflicts after since. At least think of their better side instead like Immanuel Kant, a German whom created a system of philosophy and law that are the basis for most of the law and justice system in the world today, without him, people will just abuse law as a means to an end.

  • Applause to Mlle Vanasse for her very convincing acting! She really reminded me of those times I would tear up while singing and how it would sound like.

  • Let's see, France have Napoleon that wreaked Germany in the 19th century, Dauphin who betrayed his country very own savior to Burgundy and England, Russia, killing it's own citizen since Ivan the Terrible. At least Germans did try their best to kill Hitler like Colonel Stauffenberg. I gotta say, France is jealous of Germany in the past because of their glorious history and great National anthem, as compared to those French whoopsies who invented souffle.

  • @MrMadMcMad I wouldn't completely sell either of them out. France did defeat the coalition during their revolution, as well as assisting the U.S in revolution, not to mention having La Marseillaise as an anthem.

  • German work ethic! German fugality/saving? Benefit for germans? NO! ! Only to have their tax money "stolen" by zionist placed: Stupid/BIMBO Merkel and given to the luzy fuck commie greeks. Germans, you need to stand up and oust your BIMBO chancellor; after all its your money..Do it now!

  • Südtirol ist nicht Italien! South Tyrol is not Italy! German speaking region spans from the Belt to the Etsch. Treaty of Versailles was unjust, Italy betrayed Austria-Hungary and then split Tyrol in two.

  • Who´s the singing actress?

  • @agallonmafafas2012 Karine Vanasse :)

  • good job! I like this woman

  • you people are crazy Europe is about to explode period and all Americans have European roots, except ILLEGALS they are mexicans and muslims and our leaders have ONCE AGAIN SET US UP ALL OF US

  • Hermoso himno,digna interpretación.

    Saludos desde Chile.

  • Poor German, no matter how good English you spoke, how typical behavior you performed like American, once showing of your patriotism of your Vaterland---by singing your national Hymn, you become a "Nazi" to them..........

  • good evening longyearbyen17,I admit to having little time for Germans and Germany, but I have to admit that they have accepted what the Nazi era meant, the war, the Holocaust, the mass murders, the perversions and corruptions of science and logic. The arrogant bastards Merkel(Fuhrerin) and her ilk now demand that their ideas are to dominate within the eurozone.

  • @newbridgeism ur right yes

  • reichsaddler1888,good afternoon.I must say that you have a unique,Germanic idea of freedom,a freedom that included the Holocaust.Your idea of freedom that permits the mass murders, sadistic perversions of Auschwitz,Dachau,Buchenwald,Treblinka,Sachenhausen makes me pity you, you clearly need medical help. You Germans invaded France and Belgium in 1914, not the other way round,Schlieffen was a German general, dont forget the German atrocities in 1914-18 as well as the Second World War.

  • Alemania sobre todos,que gran verdad.Emocionante.

  • best part of the episode

  • Germany oh Germany....Save us from the disaster that is "Modern America"

  • If it just takes it's the German national anthem. Only was officially only the third verse, and not as the first verse here because they are no longer fit for modern times and is a bit provocative.

Germany in the singing of the first or second verse is not prohibited. There is a misconception.

  • This is not the German national anthem. It is the 'Lied der Deutschen', of which the harmless and rather weak second and third verse became recently the German national anthem. So what? Listen to French national anthem if you want to hear something unsettling and bloodthirsty. Or any other anthem for that matter...

  • @LutzBrux1 this is the old german national anthem.

  • @liverpoolmatt87

Sorry to contradict, it was first and still is "Lied der Deutschen", thats the name of it. It became the national anthem, then, even though it was still the national anthem, on official occasions only the third verse was sung, and now, today, the third verse is the national anthem.

  • @LutzBrux1 ok well according to historical sources, lied der deutschen is the same anthem as deutschland uber alles and das deutschlandlied...same anthem but different names but composed by the same composer josef hadyn. so since this woman sings the first verse of the song it is the old german anthem because the third verse doesn't start off with "deutschland, deutschland uber alles". sorry to contradict

  • @liverpoolmatt87

It was composed as "Lied der Deutschen". "Deutschland Deutschland über alles" is how it starts. National Anthem is its function. It became the national anthem first: all three verses, then: all three verses, but only the first was sung, finally: only the third verse. The first verse alone was never the national anthem.

Go away with your "historical sources". I am not trying to tell you where "Hail Britannia" or "God save the Queen" comes from either, am I?

  • Fuck you, germans are not dirty!

  • thats kinda of a senseless video part was not needed but why do they not show Asians, Africans, Indians almost the entire world singing that were slaughtered by the allies

  • fuck the dirty german cunts lets nuke them along with japan. USA#1

  • @DStyles2345 you do know those 2 counties have nuclear warheads too

  • @DStyles2345 Why the hell russians didnt nuke you when they had change during Cuba crisis.

  • @keperkeikkari they didn't have the balls USA#1

  • only the french can ruin Franz Joseph Haydn

  • Colette's parents were killed in the war (by the Germans); within the context of the narrative it adds up. However, we live in 2012 now and I'm not sure whether this scene should have been absolutely necessary....

  • Bravo, performance, Karine, bravo! Captures all the bitter sadness of a proud people, regardless of politics.

  • I have just returned from Germany. Germany is a nation that re cast itself after the trauma of the war. Germany is a model for the rest of us. I am from the UK and anti further Euro integration, but it's like after the war, Germany put her big girl panties on and now everything is better there.

  • @CarbonBlonde Bravo! Go Deutschland!

  • @CarbonBlonde Too bad that Israel and the United States are too busy pissing and bleeding all over their little girl panties to do the same. The United States is run by a monkey and controlled by rats. Glad to hear that Germany is prospering. Hopefully you can finish the job that Hitler started. Count on millions of white persons worldwide to support you. Seig heil! Fuck the USA. Fuck the UK and God damn Israel to Hell! Gut mit uns!

  • @CarbonBlonde So you think tons of third world scum living there is better?

  • @metathus1488 its not better or worse

  • She should have sung Horst Wessel if she wanted to show the link with nazis - this anthem was used during the Weimar Republic

  • This is supposed to be a girl who's parents were killed when she was 3 and was forced to learn a national anthem that glorified the people who were responsible for their deaths. Of course she's mad, and she has a reason too be. Just because some people think France deserved what they got doesn't mean she deserved it. It wasn't just France's fault, yes they may have been harsh with the conditions in the treaty of versailles but they weren't the only ones calling the shots.

  • @rainbow19996

Ah, so that's why she has that faggot accent.

    Deustchland Uber Alles.

  • @rainbow19996 well -the prestory of wwII is complex. if you go back in history you will see one reason was the annexion of german elsass by french troops in 1683 while the troops of the reich was defendig vienna and eurproe from turkish threat.

an other reason of german agression was the polish terror agaist all non polish ethical groups in so called "poland" between 1919 and 1939......

  • @rainbow19996 I rather enjoyed the video clip until you ruined it for me. So are you suggesting that in glorifying Germany that all Germans are responsible for the deaths of all the Jews? Why is it that Jews continue to blame the Germans for the Holocaust? How many Jews do you say that were killed? Was it 6 million? And what about the forged photographs and the films from the Soviet Union that were faked by Communists and Jews in order to hang Nazis?

  • @rainbow19996 better suck cock u bitch whats with thousands of suffering Germans after ww1 u litte ally bitch? france and britain were war hungry even b4 ww1, it was austria-hungrys faut that the crisis escaleted they claimed serbia, germany only did what it has to do, the french wanted to DESTROY germany after ww1 luckily we rose again like a phoenix i know everyone hates germany but we ar still 105 Million German speaking people in Europe and we arent afraid of ur propaganda

  • @rainbow19996 Noone cared about dying children in the Rhinecrisis noone cared about the Inflation in 1924, Noone cared when france moved into the Rhineland 1923 / 1924 FOR NO FUCKING REASON, my grandpa told me about these times, After the napoleonic wars not even france was judged that hard, what do u expect the germans to do? to say: ok w ar the biggest nation in europe but its allright tak our land kill our families we havent paid enough war debts yet? Allies made Hitler

  • @rainbow19996 he come on stop to have this naive understatement. the wwII has a complex history. its cheap to blame germany for all. the so called allieds should think about their part to bringing hitler in power. remembering versailles treaty, the polish terror between 1919 and 1939 aganyst germany, french and belium occupation of germany in the 20´s etc etc. so do you really wonder about the collaps of democratic germany in 1933?

  • @dulle3000 Many people forget that the Polisch Dictator Joseph Rydz-Smygly occupied the Tschenen district of Czechoslovakia before Hitler occupied the rest of Czechoslovakia.

  • It's always funny when the French behave like the eternal victims. In reality, it was France that started so many wars against Germany. It was France that wanted to subjugate all German territories on the left side of the Rhine, as it's the "natural border of Gaule." And they were quite successful in doing that. It was France that hated Germany and wanted it to remain small and without power. It was the Catholic France that even became allied with the Turks and the Swedish only to fight Germany.

  • @HerrWagnerfreund France and Turkey allies? when? Turks were allies with Germany in WW1 they hate the French so much in Turkey. the French were allies with Armenians and Russians.

  • She's a baby. Her Country was the biggest laughing stock of thw WOrld. I surrender.....Also, why did they get a piece of Germany after WWII, -------France Lost-----

  • @bartsimpson67543two This is not to say that Germans didn't make this choice for themselves it's just in some way it's different . Eh who knows .

  • @bartsimpson67543two It's not Germans who are problem as much as it is our culture . Remember that most of our historical leaders were either autocratic monarchs or dictators as well as the Prussian ideals of unconditional obedience to your superiors and to the state was probably another factor in Nazism . Idk if I believe in the idea of Sonderweg as William L. Shirer said in his book Rise and Fall of the Third Reich but I wont deny that the facts are there as well .

  • @bartsimpson67543two But hopefully the wounds of the past can be healed but never forgotten . Like how Germany and Israel are friends and how Germany is trying its best to rectify the past, even making it illegal to portray anything Nazi in public or in private and jailing anyone who does .

  • @bartsimpson67543two because of what the Nazis did to corrupt and pervert feelings of patriotism into disgusting racial nationalism which is something I do not agree with at all . Perhaps someday Germans will be able to say they love their country and things will be different in some way . :) . Prost ! :) .

  • @bartsimpson67543two Iam an Auslandsdeutsche and although Iam deeply saddened for what my country did, I will not say that I do not love it . I love Germany and everything about it and I hope to go there one day . :) . Especially Bavaria . I have friends who are Jews and although I do not speak to them that much anymore I wouldn't deny the oppurtunity . :) . And you're right . I guess in some way we all have a burden when it comes to showing any sense of German pride

  • @bartsimpson67543two of course, but this show takes place in 1963, and this character's parents were killed by nazis when she was a young child. You'd be angry too.

  • It's her Country fault that they are a bunch of fag quitters. if she wanted her parents not to die, maybe she would have fought harder in 1940.

  • @bartsimpson67543two The mayority of German people it was, it was nazi. Ask your fathers! I have German family and I know what happened there. Hitler won the elections by voters.

And I don't like the German anthem lyrics now, the first stanza is the best! and it's not nazi.

  • @bartsimpson67543two ummm, in the 50-60's, you could've been anywhere in america and they would've hated you. She was portraying her anger for the nazi party and the resentment towards the germans. from her characters story, very understandable.

  • the best episode in season 1.

  • Yes, what happened in Germany was bad, but the rest of the world's histories are hardly whiter than white themselves

  • What people erase from their interpretation of history was that there plenty of "nazis" in the UK, USA and other so called free countries - up to and during WW2 - and when it comes to it the Western Powers were responsible for the rise of the Nazis after they demanded exorbitant and undeliverable sanctions on Germany in 1919 - Nationalism was the only inevitable conclusion. Beautiful anthem and a brilliantly simple and emotional rendering of it

  • @bartsimpson67543two

because you are german you find that insulting, but because not all germans were nazi's don't excuse what happened all german knew waht was happening and either partisipa or ignored it. it's true that some help but that was little.

  • @yolainem could you please prove that everybody knew everything? I bet you can't, so stop making false claims.

  • I was cheering her on. She had that built up anger and let it out the only way she knew how and she embarrased the germans who deserved it. If I was in her position I was like "Ill make sure these bastards remember what they did to me, my family and my country

  • <3333

  • I'm pretty sure that's not how she meant it...she wanted to spit the words out! Very emotional scene!!!
