Can't really recommend it for it's fun value. It's the story/atmosphere that keeps you going. Getting into it is hard, but give it some time, it will pay of.

Too bad it's translation sucks. With things as complex as they are, it's already easy to miss something. Especially if you unknowingly skip half the dialogue for a wrong speech option, if not saved before. That's not too bad. The characters could do more than just standing in one spot for 12 days. Don't get me wrong, I love it.

You play one of these guys a doctor, a little girl and a prisoner.

Also there is murder happening.

You have to stay alive and may find a cure.

And there is another happening, I don't want to spoil. ;-)

I wish they would fix Pathologic and release it again.

Some people need to realise that there is a difference between graphics and art.

Pathologic has one of the most cohesive, detailed and elegant artistic visions I've seen. I don't really play the game - I just wander around for hours. I don't do this in games that have HDR...

Why are people complaining about the graphics? The people are a bit off, and they move too slowly, but the actual place is really well done I think. Then again, I'm a Might and Magic fan - go figure.

Pathologic is incredibly good.

It might be ugly, but it's extremely atmospheric and the story is basically genius.

Long live Ice Pick Lodge. We could certainly use more developers like them in times like theses...

I dont think it looks too ugly, when was it released, 2000ish? Im kinda liking what I see here. Is it that game where the town your in, is under some kind of quarantine, and theres a few days until the extermination squad comes to "cleanse" everything?

Anyway, if we're talking UGLY games, then you should play 'The Watchmaker'. Its ugly in EVERY way (especially for a 2004 game), but for some reason, I like it LOL.

But that doesn't take anything away from the game. It's still a masterpiece. It only lacks a proper translation.

Btw, their new game, "The Void" is a masterpiece too...and it looks really gorgeous.

I played it and gave up because:

1. Everything about the gameplay annoyed me.

2. The english translation is so astoundingly bad that I literally had NO IDEA WHAT WAS GOING ON.

Maybe the fact that you're so narrow minded in your approach to games (being that if there is anything that is a little off beat from normal gameplay it equals annoying or that you don't take time to understand what is happening in the story) made you not like it.

@Fireworksenta33 It's not that I didn't take time to understand. It's that the english was so amazingly bad that I literally had no idea what was being said in any conversation in the game. It was like someone had taken a normal conversation but then swapped each third word for an entire sentance randomly taken from a shakespearian play. It made no sense! I've heard there's some kind of redone translation version so maybe that's better. I had the original.

@Fireworksenta33 As for the gameplay, I was referring to the slow walking pace, hideous fogging, crappy map which didn't make navigation easy at all, and horrible music. Does fog add atmosphere? Yes. But it also means you can't see where the hell you're going.
