I challenge you to find ONE geologist that says ALL or any strata takes "millions of years" to from.
Turbidites are deep sea deposits and have alternating sand and mud stone layers. The mudstone layers do take thousands of years but the thicker sand stone sequences are made in mear minutes.
However I believe you already know people think this. Its much easier to argue against a straw man than what geologists actually think huh?
polystrate trees have been explained 150 yrs ago, how is it still "stumping" you? we see evidence of several marshes sinking today.
it's funny you bring up Steve Austin, for some reason that rings a bell of something he got caught lying about once or twice. I'll have to look it up, but you can certainly find evidence of being dishonest with his dating of mt st helens rock. visit talkorigins net and they have it all there in detail.
the problem with your mt st helens example, is that we can CLEARLY see three layers of ash. to try and say that this is analogous to the strata as seen in the geologic column is disingenuous at best, and an outright baldfaced lie at worst... and judging by mr Harrub's credentials, I'd put my money on the later. In fact, it's also spreading an ignorant lie showing COMPLETELY different strata layers, then showing the next slide, as if they were the same, when the 2nd slide shows NO STRATA at all!
Its a pity that evolutionist have persistent obsessive thoughts that they have exclusive property of science- so chronic that they are delusional. Its just the way things in this world -modern science debunking old science one concrete example is electric universe debunking the existing cosmological model of gravity ,blackholes, dark matter, neutron stars etc. The geologic column is non existent(very old useless),,radiodecay is not constant electromagnetic radiation will render them useless.
@MrMatutum <--"The geologic column is non existent"
takes a severely ignorant and uneducated person to say such a stupid thing. not only is evidence of the geologic column all around us on every continent, it exists in its ENTIRETY in at least 25 locations throughout the world
"they have exclusive property of science"
oh? tell that to the 30% of theist scientists all over the world. i'm sure it's news to them.
Let me see, on one hand we have thousands of hard-working field geologists working calculating experimenting testing and publishing the results of their good work for peer-review over decades pretty much all coming to the same conclusion about the strata and composition of the earth.
On the other hand, we have you and a handful of young-earth creationists who see a conflict between this newly discovered knowledge, and the stories contained in an ancient book of fables and myths written by ignorant men thousands of years ago.
Anyone claiming to have looked into the evidence and believes the world is 6K years old is scary..... it takes a monstrous, brain twisting, glazed eye, mind warp to believe in a global flood.
Fig wasp, volcanic layers, coral fossils, STARLIGHT!, ice age data, core samples, chalk deposits, salt deposits.....
Oh, this is really, really sad. Playing to a audience you hope aren't able to think for themselves. Your professional credits are legit, so the only thing I can gather is that you are willfully lying and hope no one notices. Sorry dear, you now have our attention. This polystrate fossil bit? This was understood over 147 years ago. Miss the memo? And with your background to say that this is part of a mythical flood when the chemical composition of just one formation rules it out? Unbelievable.
I'm guessing you're science educated? Checking the validity of his credentials was a good move (aside: remember that his credentials are in Biology - not Geology; but that's all beside the point I will soon make). However, perhaps you should take a different approach (my approach). Being business educated, my approach would be to try to either rule out, or confirm, any possible economic incentive for his lies.
Remember that everything I will communicate is speculative, but a very reasonable possibility. Some creationists are starting to see the writing on the wall. In his society (USA), there is a LOT of money to be made in creationists philosophy. After all, church, evangelism, and so forth, is BIG business! What better way to protect its big business interests than to pay validly credentialed people above market to help keep church-going people brainwashed?
@vancouvermild Actually, I did some of that awhile back. An individual is very difficult to track without an legal basis, but an institution...much easier. I found the particulars for AiG out of the Better Business Bureau. Turns out that their theme park turns a million a year in profit, and Ken Hamm clears 200K. These figures are several years old now and do not reflect in cash input from the Ark Experience addition they are getting state funding for ($5 million+)
Brilliant! You're obviously a well-rounded individual (like both the late Carl Sagan and I). It's a multi-faceted problem that warrants multi-faceted analyses. That is, whenever an otherwise highly credentialed individual is seemingly contradictory (given his/her credentials), never rule out the financial motive. Apparently, you didn't rule it out - and you're presumably not even a business specialist or economist? I like the way you evidently think outside the box!
@vancouvermild A lot of it is identity too. A persecution mindset just makes them cling even harder to their preconceived beliefs. The will believe in spite of the proof. Indeed, some will get professional qualifications at legitimate schools just so they can cry against what they have been taught. Look up Emil Silvescue (hope I got the spelling correct) and go thru some of his videos. The admitted lack of integrity there is astounding. And for creationists? Business as usual.
Stop showing off your brilliance!...(kidding). All kidding aside, I too have already considered the psychological component, and it never ceases to amaze how some otherwise intelligent scientists (albeit very few of them) WANT to desparately cling to their indoctrinated beliefs. Mind you, I can at least live with the ones that accept the OVERWHELMING evidence for evolution, but have to qualify that acceptance with the belief of an initial creator...
@vancouvermild I'm far from brilliant. I've had a great many good teachers over the years who've challenged me to think critically about things. Not always the what as much as the why. There's a line from Babylon 5 that really hits the mark: "Understanding is a 3-edged sword". If deity exists is not really the question-that's a matter of faith and beyond science. But people who look at books like Genesis and say it's literal when it's not? That really irritates me.
However, there are some that can't reconcile bible stories of creation with the scientifically driven account of evolution. Hence, they become involved with the creationist movement. I'm sure there are even some that might otherwise accept the evidence for evolution but can't reconcile that acceptance with creationism and the financial incentive, thereby "fool" themselves into accepting the creationist account.
you show a picture of sedimentary rock, say it is sedimentary and then claim it was formed by mount st helens? and this has nothing to do with biology or evolution. we know that rocks can be deposited relativly quickly, and we know how polystrate trees form, if you are right that they are in a lake in this coindition then you know there is no need for a global flood since we haven't seen one recently. there are so many lies in this it is ridiculous.
So many people flying in the face of what is obvious. Polystrate fossils are well known to defy uniformitarian philosophy, and there is NO satisfactory explanation, other than the sedimentary layers were laid down far more rapidly than what is believed by Darwinists. Every argument "has" to favour the "evolutionary" thinking, despite the fact, in this case, it supports rapid deposition. Excellent video!
@JesuismyKing No geologist thinks that the strata surrounding polystrate trees were formed over millions of years. Brad may think they do but the experts in this field have known how they were formed for a long time now. Uniformitarianism only means the present is the key to the past not that all strata took millions of years to form. Look at floodplains in swamps to get an idea of how this happened. See watch?vs.=fgpSrUWQplE and watch?v=zUpLnLdmOIg
Ha! any appearance of use in those books came from their previous owners, he clearly got them used like most professors...ugh. He has not read a single one, but i guess those few books are to look impressive?
How can you tell your gullible audience that this is some kind of conspiracy that is hidden from the text books? Polystrate trees have been explained in text books for well over 100 years. The deposits were not laid down over long periods of time in those particular strata. Now explain how the chalk layers in the Cliffs of Dover were laid down rapidly...

Geologitst sure don't. Oh I guess he is not a Geologist ! Let me guess.
I bet he thinks Uniformitarianism means slow and gradual and uniform...
Wrong again.
