@ThexHidden After we open up an iPod touch, we have to de-solder the original headphone jack assembly and then solder in a brand new one. Works good as new!
My i pod still plays music but only on one ear i if i want to make em both play i have to hold the connecter tightly in one direction is there a way to fix that ?
Need help with my ipod 2nd gen when i plug in head phones only one side of the headphones will work but if i move it around they would both work. Please help on what i should do!
Hey anyone know what to do if u plug in your headphones but they only play threw one ear but if you move it around the other side of the headphone will work.please help on what i should do!!!!
i was wondering can you make a video on how to replace the ipod touch headphone jack or explain it too me i have the part just not sure how to replace it tho
also wat metal do you have to use to solder something like an ipod touch headphone jack ?
I have a ipod touch 2nd gen. Well now my headphones plays sound & music. But my iPod doesn't play sound or music without them plugged in? Any suggestions of any fixes?
@caponepg Still sounds like the headphone jack assembly needs to be replaced, so that your iPod touch can function without headphones being plugged in. Head to our site to get an order placed and for more details.
My iPod touch usually will randomly not play in the left ear of my headphones. If I push the jack in and hold it it will play but not when I let go. If I take it out and put it back in it will work but it is very sensative. Any advice would be appreciated
@XClone08 Hey there. Assuming you have already tried a few other sets of earbuds, it's likely you need a new headphone jack assembly for your iPod touch. We replace these all the time - and I am sure we can fix your issue quickly and professionally. Give us a call tomorrow morning and we will give you all the details (800-809-8133).
@XClone08 Sorry about that. The problem is the headphone jack component inside your device (most likely). We would need to open up your iPod touch, de-solder the malfunctioning part, and solder in a new one. While in there, you might want to consider getting a new battery as well. For more details, email or call us, as we don't usually monitor/respond via YouTube!
Just recently my ipod touch's headphone jack got a lose connection and it only works when i put pressure upward otherwise the audio is all distorted. When the headphones are out though the sound is perfectly fine. What should i do?
@OhMaiiGawdXD Please send the device in to us after first placing an order for our iPod touch Repair Evaluation service. Make sure you provide us with these details in the Order Comments field as this will greatly help our technicians.
@Fasttrack248 We can look at your device and help you figure out what the issue is, FT248! And you will likely save a bunch of money instead of buying a new one!
I have an ipod video and it works perfectly fine as far as the screen, clicker etc. The only problem I have is when I plug in my headset, I cant hear any music whatsoever. I replaced the head phones already and it still isnt functioning correctly, have you heard of this complication before, and do you have any suggestions for me?
@chella1854 This is actually quite a common issue and one we fix all the time. SOunds like all you need is a new headphone jack assembly (they can get worn out over time) so please give us a call or head to our website for the details.
My iTouch has a headphone jack problem I have to jiggle the headphone input for sound to come out both speakers (I've tried with several different headphones, so its definitely the jack) Should i open it to check the jacks soldering job?
@mexicangerardo1992 We really do not recommend that anyone who has not worked with the iPod touch to open those - they are very fragile and easy to break - please consider sending it on in to us so that one of my experienced technicians can look at it and tell you what's wrong with it and what is needed to repair it.
@ipodjuice how much exactly would it cost for a headphone jack replacement.. and could i send it to you with a money order cause the "fix" was temporary. Ima ask my mom if she could ship it to you guys... and how long would it take upon arrival to fix my headphone jack and get it back (estimate days) thanks you.
@Rebirthsouls We currently do not take money orders - credit cards only. But head to our Home Page, click the picture of the iPod touch, and look for the Headphone Jack Assembly part to learn more. Turnaround time varies a bit depending on season and how busy we happen to be when your device arrives, but we strive for fast turnarounds without sacrificing quality. Hope that helps!
@kraju15 Hello there. We actually get about five devices each day from Europe, so I am certain that we can help you out as well. Please send us an email or peruse our website to get the process started.
Yeah man! Ive just bought some of those beats by dr dre headphones. and i have to hold the ipod to get sound in both speakers. It happens with all of my earphones and im honestly pretty annoyed about it. You'd think a company thats main product has two jobs. (1- to store sound and 2- to play it well.) cant even create a working headphone jack lol
If i ever want to listen to my music through my iTouch, when i put my head phones in, only my right head phone works, when i wiggle it about to try and get the left one to work, i have to keep hold of the headphone Jack thing so my left one will work, if i let go of it, my left one will go off, is there anyway i can fix this at home??
@SCantello We really do not recommend that anyone who has not worked with the iPod touch to open those - they are very fragile and easy to break - please consider sending it on in to us so that one of my experienced technicians can look at it and tell you what's wrong with it and what is needed to repair it.
@xmetallica21 You would think that would be the best course of action, but time and time again we see folks that do more damage than what they started with when they take the cheap route. For anything related to iPod touch, you really need to send it to a repair company like Milliamp LTD if you want it done right (and let us take the risk!).
@jrmel1994 Please head to our website to learn more about our prices and to get the process started. We have a ton of customers from Aruba and I know we can help you out as well.
We actually can repair the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Generation IPOD TOUCH now, so thanks for calling this to our attention - we will get our site updated right away.
Don't let the site discrepancy slow you down any, however - go ahead and place your order now and we can get it settled on our end when your device arrives.
@sportllen20 Only a professional evaluation that we perform will be able to determine this - please try our site to learn more or give us a call or shoot us an email.
when i try to listen to my ipod i have to constantly hold the headphones in place if they move even in the slighest the sound goes out then i have to move it around until the sound comes back its ridiculous i have to constantly hold it my hand because putting it in my pocket is impossible if i want to listen to music
that sounds like a bad headphone jack assembly (and we assume you tried a different set of headphones) - please head to our site and click on iPod touch Repairs and select the evaluation so we can figure it out and repair it if you authorize.
@ipodjuice same as mine when it slighly moves the sound stops and i have to push play again on my ipod touch is that the ipod jack? how much is it to repair?
I have a quick question. For some reason, the volume bar on my iPod touch has disappeared. I plug in the headphones and I can definitely hear sound but its very low and I cannot adjust it. I've restored it multiple times and reset all the settings to make sure it wasn't anything I did.
Any idea as to how to remedy this problem? Someone suggested that it could be because my iPod thinks that it may be connected to a dock (iPod stereo thing) and that's why the volume bar is gone. :(

Heyy. I have a situation with my itouch atm. Basically the headphone jack is faulty and kills off a pair of headphones every 2 weeks or so. At first, everything works ok with new headphones but then It kills the left headphone, then a few days later, the right. This has been going on for months. Any advice?
never heard of this happening before - could be a bad headphone jack assembly, could be something else. Might want to send it in to us for a look-see.

Same problem, did you manage to sort it? its clear that one of the metal sides as moved out of place or come off on this one, am looking for a video on how to open and repair.
Please do not try and open your iPod touch yourself - it is WAY too difficult and most folks break something else in the process.
Head to our site and click on 'iPod touch Repair' and add the evaluation to your cart and place your order. once we get your device, we can confirm the repairs required with you before we proceed. Thanks!
