  • Yep my Savage X4.6 did the same thing, then I adjusted my LSN, and it fixed the problem, really easy fix, and when my truck did the same thing I was like WTF, I thought my motor was going bad, LOL hope u get it fixed soon

  • might need to get richend at idle

  • same thing wit both of mine

  • thats idle. rev it up and it should be able to go in reverse within 2sec

  • yo weird thing

same problem happened to me today.......

i richened out every needle nothing helped ...... still overheating and same sound....

Last thing i did to the truck was i sealed the motor with red 500F sealant that i heard from forums ...

but i now wish i never should have tocuhed it at all

because before it was fine always ran under 230f now wtf.

  • @erdoganog It's probably ur lsn is too lean. Make sure u shut off the engine and then u pull the throttle on the controller so the carb is open. When the carb is wide open is when u tune the lsn.

  • @jmey107 i was doing the dual tank mod... i got rid of that

reopened the engine and cleaned and tightned every bolt real tight tight...

then i threw out the wildcat 20% 10% oil car fuel garbage .....

btw it was brand new but the mgt i guess does not like it :/

    filled it wiht sidewinder fuel

now works like a charm matter FACT it was OD RICH lmao i had to lean a half turn

    so weird right????

    nitro motors are so weird

  • call 559 930 4431 for a rc gas car

  • wtf i have the same with it after i gas up alot and then let it roll it has noise like 0:34 only if i gas up and let it roll it does, any1 can pls help me ? please tell me what it is if u know. also my brakes are fucked up its not the disks, its the innerside idk what exact item it could be if u know this too pls P.M me for any ideas or knowledge. thanks already

  • @twinkstance It makes that noise because the lsn was ay too lean. Also ur brake is fine, the spring that gets pulled when u break is too weak, just get some fuel line and put it there in stead

  • sttuuuupppiiiddd

  • Just seach "how to find an air leak rc"

  • my mgt 8.0 is doing the same its not running lean at bottom or high side

  • @markyyeah1 richen out low end and richen out high end only 1/16 turn and turn down idle

  • it looks like ur engine is set too rich

  • y mean lean? when its rich, it bogs down, when its lean it struggles to stay on. What was happening was the only way to set the lsn was to shut off the car, pull full throttle, then adjust the lsn, i did not know that at the time, so i was richening it, and it stayed the same.

  • the lsn is way lean ,2 turns out from all thew way in ,,this will get you running ,,then warm it up do a full throttle pass then pinch the fuel line as close to the carb as possible ,,it should run for 4 seconds and then slightlt climb in idol say 300 rpm them shut off if it runns longers then 5 sec ,,its rich ,,if less then 3 and climbe high in rpm ,,to lean . .also run a os 8 plug.

  • yea i run an os 8 plug now, i did not know u have to turn off the truck and open the throttle all the way to make adjustments on the lsn

  • @iamcyberpunk68

    yo...bro

i wonna get a monster truck

been looking at this and the savage

could you recommend a truck please.

ps...the jp4 you recomended is a real blast...its bolted to my hpi truggy

    thanks man!

  • @1521joe go with the mgt 8.0, its easier to work on and it has a .50 size helicopter engine.

  • because of that idle low mixtur is messed up and it caused the engine to get damaged i had the same problem and sent my truck to Team Associated and they diegnosed it so i put an ofna force 32 stump puller in it.

  • It may also be the piston ring

  • u hav to clean your whole motor and maybe need new piston sleve bearings and shaft

  • that engine is gone... needs piston, sleve, cranck shaft and maby even berrings.

  • not really, it it perfectly fine now, i only had a tank or 2 in it at that time, and never a full throttle

  • On my kyosho rc nitro car when i start it the wheels just spin realy fast without touching any buttons? can anyone help me please!?

  • that your engine has not been properly softened

  • true, it only had about 8-10 tanks through it at around 1/2 gallon it started to run correctly

  • the Picco i have on the tmaxx i just got was doing the same thing, It was that the lsn was to lean.

  • Yea, i have a new vid up of it running well, the lsn was too lean and i richened up the high speed needle

  • yea :D good i will see it

  • it has been raining this weekend, but later this week or weekend i will run my car again

  • ermmm would you know why when i start my rc car the wheels go to full power? if you do could you tell me please

  • it is either ur throttle servo is set wide open or ur idle needle is set to far out, make a video and without the body on and show me what is happening

  • where can i find my idle needle i forgot where it is

  • it is on the carb on the opposite side of the low speed needle, what truck and engine do u have?

  • hmm try remove the top of the servo and set it good from there

  • ok thanks, i will make a new video this weekend

  • no that is too lean just rich it bit :)

  • ok thanks. i ran it yesterday and richened the lsn like people said and it worked. what my problem was that the throttle control servo pushes in a little when u brake causing the engine to die so i am playin with that now

  • Just adjust your idel screw if it's dying when you apply the brakes.

  • i heard the same noise on an exceed rc engine, and the guy driving it said it was just a crappy engine, but mgt engines arent crappy so idk

  • its either an air leak or your LSN is way to lean.

  • ok this weak end i will run my truck, i think that it is just too lean, but i got some sealer to seal my engine if it is still making the noise

  • I have the 8.0 and I have the exact same problem! I dont run hot or anything, that noise just annoys the hell out of me! love the truck hate the sound! ive tried everything but I just cant make it stop! I hope someone can help us both. good luck brother I think we're gonna need it.

  • I have not run my truck in a while, but i think my low speed needle is too lean. If that is not the case then there is an air leak. But in ur case i would take off the primer bulb to make sure that u r not losing any back pressure, if thats not it then we have the same problem :( lol

  • take idle out a bit and richin bottom 1 turn

  • Whether or not its an air leak, one of the first things you should do is seal your engine, even if you don't have an airleak, because sealing it beforehand will prevent an airleak from happening...... It almost sounds like its having problems getting fuel, check your tubing, if you have a primer bulb remove it, could have air pockets in your fuel line, either that or your way to lean........ g'luck

  • yea, the primer bulb was out in this video

  • its running to lean on idle try turning the LSN anti clockwise to richen the mixture or try adjusting the idle control needle by turning in the same direction

  • ok i did that but have not run it today, like i said, it may not be an air leak, only a tuning problem. It only seems to make that noise once it has warmer up and is running at 250 degrees.

  • You dont have an airleak it sounds like you need to fatten up the midrange needle on the carb...the carb has a low speed needle, midrange needle and a HSN...The midrange needle is opposite the Low Speed Needle....Turfn the mid needle 1/4 turn fatter....Peace

  • there is no mid range neddle on the 8.0 and you don't want to turn it out b'y 1/4 of a turn, don't fotget every truck is different and if you have yours out that much don't mean that he should have is screw out that much.

it's not a mid screw it's a mettering screw, it adjust the air/fuel radio thorugh the hole range of revs and gearing, the metering screw is always in action. this is a very delacate neddle, it shou7ld only be turned out 1/8 or 1/16 at a time,

  • if not you risk hidro lock and blowing the engine IE connecting rod or major crank damage.

  • yep exactly, i am not a pro at racing and i don't want to run the risk of breaking my engine, it is most likely a air leak, but it could also be a tuning problem, but that is not very likely

  • I'd say lean on the low end.

  • ok thanks
