Those people taking a snotty, "she sucks" stance need to realize, one, just how hard this song is too sing, and TWO, just how hard it is to sing in a stadium full of thousands of people, with cameras trained on you, and every single person listening to you, WITHOUT any musical backing to hide behind. It's just you and the microphone in a quiet stadium. I get nervous just thinking about it. Every time I watch this video, I smile, and yes, get all warm and fuzzy inside. :)

People (especially non singers) don't realize how difficult our national anthem is to sing. It has a huge range. On top of that, add the nerves you'd get from a stadium full of people watching you. Half of them waiting for you to fail. Glad coach didn't let her quit! I think the challenge would've beeen singing while hearing his tone defness in my ear;0)

I'm older than her, and I'd be very nervous as well if I had to sing the anthem before a huge crowd, where everyone's quiet and focused on me. Even the pros screw up, and I can see why someone would get on their cases, but I'd like to see other high-schoolers take a crack at this. It takes guts just to try to sing the anthem publicly.
